Kinda humiliating for a T.rex to being turned into a vegetarian.

I got this for Christmas as a kid when it came out. I was 8 years old. I lost the man in the cage but now my 5 year old son plays with it and it’s still in fantastic shape after all the abuse it’s received throughout the years. The sound box still works too!

I wish I still had mine.. I’m gonna have to find one to purchase, also idk if you do the same but whenever I find myself in targets toy section, I’m constantly comparing the modern day toys to the one we grew up with!

You taught me something today, JC. I had no idea the Bull came from a JP concept in 1994! I've never had the pleasure of owning a Bull T-Rex, even though I saw the 2009 version at retail and passed on it due to the coloration. It's certainly one of the top JP dinosaurs on my wishlist for the future. Thank you for the history lesson and review.

They could've done even better than Kenner by directly casting their toys out of molds of the Stan Winston sculpts and even paint them much in a much more film-accurate way. But no, they decided to create chicky plastic ripoffs that look like zombies.

While I agree, one has to be fair and consider the differing factors: the American economy was booming in the '90s, whereas it's more or less limping along today. In addition, Stan Winston died several years before _Jurassic World_ came to fruition. Even if he hadn't every single dinosaur save for the dying Apatosaurus was created with CGI; there would be no molds with which to make a cast. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, mass media and technology have a grip over the people of today that was unfathomable in 1997, or even 2001 when the third film was released. It's a sad reality, but physical toys are no longer a necessity for children. THAT is why Hasbro has little incentive to go beyond the call of duty and create dinosaur toys that would make Kenner proud. Am I happy about this? Not in the slightest. But I can appreciate where they're coming from, at least.

The thing that I remember most about this figure from when I was a kid was the detail in the teeth. I love how it has broken teeth, that just seems like an amazing bit of detail that none of the other dinos seem to have.

I got this about a year ago in a local comic store for just $80! And it was in pretty good condition (minus a few small paint mishaps). I am so proud to own it ❤️ Now I gotta try and get the other two rexes

Had this toy when I was a kid, I used to battle it out with the godzilla '99 toy when it came out a few years later after the bull t rex. I had my t rex until I was 15 or so and gave it away.

They need to re-release this T-Rex right away. I remember getting this as a kid for Christmas. Coolest Jurassic Park figure we ever had I got to bring with me to show & tell for school they all loved it.

After 6 years of hunting for this amazing figure I just got one! He was quite expensive to import to the UK but totally worth it!

Agree 💯. With Mattel releasing a new Red Rex with the feed & belly feature it shows how influential it has been

After watching this video many, many times I finally decided to get this figure on eBay. I was too young to even have an interest in toys when this thing was on the market and hence grew up with Hasbro's JP3 toys. Although still nice, nothing they have can compare to this! Well except for the 2008 Bull T-Rex retool.

I had the Red T-rex when I was a kid and this by far blew that out of the water as far as Playability. I'm not too fond of the paint design, but still...a great figure to have in anyone's collection.

In June 1998, Kenner has also made another "Gulper" T.rex with the Omega T.rex to go along with the unreleased T.V show, Jurassic Park: Chaos effect. The T.rex has the same mold as the Bull T.rex but with different colors and I think a longer tail but I am not sure.

I’m trying to decide if the Bull T. Rex or the Red Rex is better. I have the Thrasher, and I want to get one of the others. I heard that they both don’t have too much playability because only the arms move. The Red Rex sculpt is more accurate, but the electronics are very fragile. How good are the electronics on this one, and can it swallow and figure? Also, is the Jungle Explorer, Bush Devil Tracker, or HumVee a better vehicle? Thanks!

I still don't know how I actually came to still have mine from my childhood, Out of all the toys of mine that came and went back then, I still got THAT beast.lol But its missing an arm though :( I had soo much fun with this toy back then, I had it eating EVERYBODY! from power rangers to the Z fighters.lol Good times man.

ULTIMATEbudokai3 I collected a _lot_ of dinosaur toys back in my childhood, and the only one I have retained was the Bull T.Rex. I may have lost it's supplementary human figurine, but it still retains the original batteries, and still roars, albeit faintly. A salute to all fans who still have this beautiful beast.

i still have the one from the first movie since i was a kid... he is still in good conditions i really like it... i didnt get this one cause my parents told me i already had a TRex that still looked great but but i really wanted this one as a kid

I have one of these from a local store and all his sounds work still and are quite loud

I got this T-Rex on the evening I graduated from the 5th grade (as a graduation gift I believe), I think it was $40 at the time. A friend of mine in the same grade at school happened to be at the store and saw me with my soon to be purchased dinosaur, and thought I was pretty lucky to be getting one. Some 18 years later, it still has the stock batteries and plays just as good as new! Considering how much I played with it, I think that's kind of impressive.

Hello, can someone help me? I have that bull t rex but even though I buy new batteries and put them in correctly, after a while the roar stays fixed and doesn't stop, or it also sounds weak, someone?

Just won a big for a bull t rex on eBay. The 1997 one. It doesn't have the mechanical parts in it so no roar, but the JP is still on it perfectly, and everything else is beautiful. For under 100 Canadian. Thank you for this vid.

A friend of mine had the bull, I liked the color, but I wanted the Thrasher, because she was articulated. Of course, my parents never got me any of the large dinos, because they were fairly expensive.

I can't figure out how to split his legs, because one of his leg is pointing in not out therefore it is pain in the butt when I want to pose him next to the t-rex from 2k line from 2009.

this beats red Rex in my opinion. The sheer size of the toy, the swallowing mechanism, so cool.

I still have this guy and he still makes all 3 sounds. Great video!

I still can't figure out the best trex of all the trex's made for the Kenner toyline

Fucking LOVED the hell out of this toy, easily my favorite of my Jurassic Park collection, the eating mechanic was novel and just added so much more fun to playing with toys :3.

ScarletKnight1025 I mean Mattel is pretty good too.... Definitely better than Hasbro. However if you grew up with the Kenner ones then I see how you would like those better. I'm growing up with the Mattel ones so I prefer the Mattel ones. We'll see if the new ones last 25 years like the Kenner ones though.

I remember this toy clear as day. When I was in the 3rd grade a friend of mine brought it to show and tell from what I remember & we were playing with it during class while others in the class were doing their presentations. I was having fun with it so much he let me borrow it & man did I had a blast with it at home with my figures. Great toy for it's time at least in my opinion. Hasbro can recreate a toy like this but too bad they're dumb enough not too.

Still have mine since I got him for Christmas in 1997. Still looks like he came right out of the box.

I think they are both awesome - I liked the inclusion of the cardboard vehicle in 09. But perhaps the man cage makes the TLW version slightly more fun?

Born in 92’… playing with this was one of my earliest memories

I think the t rex from the jp 1 series is mutch more movie acurate but this dinosaur was much more fun to play with. I always wanted one but here in the netherlands it is very rare to find :( keep up the good work !! I love this channel

I stuffed plastic shopping bags into the tail until the crease popped out. I mowed lawns for the entire summer of 1998 saving up for this gem

Mine has one leg so curved that can't stand by its own. I was hoping you made a comparison with the "Red" Tyrannosaurs at the end hehe.

I do love this figure, but the only thing that I'm not really convinced of is the neck! It is too fat compared to the t-Rex in the film and the other "big rexes" in the JP toyline! What do you think?

What a fantastic T-Rex figure! Even if it is a littletoo much on the weir coloring side, the scale with the figures seems to be very accurate!

Kenner is really still the best in making jp figures especially as they are coated with rubber it looks very realistic skin I love the whole jp franchise and their figures a lot and that's why I sub you and also this trex is better than the red trex also I love the fact that all Kenner jp figures are very colourful which makes them even more beautiful and with the multiple roars it just becomes perfect

This rex went on to be repainted twice. For the Chaos Effect toyline and the 2009 toyline :) I have the 2009 repaint.

I think the man in the cage might be inspired by Arby (if memory serves me well), the kid in the novel who was kidnapped by the raptors while inside a small safety cage and Kelly and Sarah Harding had to chase dowm the raptor who got the key stuck in its teeth.
