Queen Catherine did not "fail" to produce a male heir. Henry's Tudor court failed at keeping the male heirs alive. If Queen Catherine was set aside it was because she was worn out and aging. I'm over blaming Queen Catherine for Henry's failures.

Long looks, brief glances, dropped gloves, so many lovely things could go on. All this under the watchful sedate eyes of men of power, brokering marriages, treaties, banking and patronage. Meanwhile equally sharp mamas looked on, watching their charming off spring and powerful husbands and sons move the planets around to suit. It was all so lovely!

I've always wondered who the time team had as archeology assistants etc, and what their reputation was within the greater field of archeology. Just seems like 3 days isn't even close to nearly enough time to properly excavate and document things. For example, the fellow at 18:00 seems to be pretty vigorously trowelling that delicate hand glazed imported Dutch tile. Maybe work is continued for months after filming?

All the archeologists had great credentials; the 3 days was partly because of that. They had to be back in univerities being professors or doing digs elsewhere. They were often asked to do the initial digs to get an idea of what was there, to see whether it was worth the cost of a full exploration. Sites are often left for future generations if it is deemed that current ones can not do them full justice.

I've never seen one modeled after a plane. It seems to keep the cost and engineering down a bit. Only one propeller and basically a solid body of foam, instead of multiple propellers and intricate plastic design. Oh its fully automated! Thats even more interesting. I'd like to interview that guy that made it, looks like he knows a lot about aerodynamics. It’s just the way the show is organized. Gives a sense of urgency. Plus they all had day jobs so these digs were done on weekends. But if they find anything of merit they would add the site to a list for future excavations.

The more of these I watch, the more astonished I am at how ... bad the archaeology and science in the Time Team show was. Fake deadlines 100% in the service of the television schedule instead of the science. It's better than what was going on at The Discovery Channel and The History Channel at the time, but still.

The point was, that television funded archeology. Time team never did much more than initial surveys to see how important a site was for future research and if it needed protection.

@@verynotreally I hear that defense of the show pretty often, but that's kind of like the Indiana Jones defense. Neither represents archaeology as it is in the real world, and if the excitement one gets is based on quick payoffs for guesses made the day before is what draws one to archaeology, one might be better off going into reality television.

why bother watching videos like this if that's all you get from it... Yeah, a good part of it is "speculation", but based on evidence, and other examples from the same era. Besides, they've dug up quite a bit of masonry and artifacts. That isn't "speculation" is it? A lot of things in life are based on speculation and refined each time you learn more about it.
