I used to love riding in the car to get to my aunt and uncle in Colebrook from MA, up Rte 3/I-93 through Franconia Notch and watching to see the Old Man appear as you got the right angle. It really was a sight to see...

😁👍🫶 me too. When my parents would drive from Groveton to visit my grandmother in Plymouth, have my face pressed against the window of the scout, straining eagerly to see the old woman and then the old man. Who would've thought that just 30 years later The ancient formation would be no more? As inconceivable as the Indian head being erased!

Nice job, man. Great script -- and how refreshing to hear what I believe is a real human voice.

Even if he did pronounce Oregon as “Ore-Gone,” which makes Oregonians cringe.

Great video! Would love to see more like it. Been to Kinzua many times having growing up nearby. Always amazed by the miles and miles of forest you can see from the top of the bridge

That old man in the mountain looks like something that would be so cool to see in person. What a shame it is gone now.

Thank you for pronouncing Kinzua correctly. Grew up not far from the train bridge. It was one of those things that was "always there"...until it wasn't. Fun side note, Johnny Cash wrote a protest song about the building of the Kinzua Dam on the Allegheny River. The now-submerged town of Kinzua was popular with divers as the town remained pretty much intact. There are still roads that just end in the reservoir that at one point led to the town.

The Key bridge does kinda count. But it's wasn't a very big monument to the area. Mainly being over shadowed by the Bay Bridge.

What video are you commenting on? There are multiple bridges in the US named Key Bridge and literally hundreds named Bay Bridge. But neither were discussed in this video. The only bridge discussed here is a long way from any key or bay.

@@Marylandbrony so in other words, completely unrelated to the topic of the video. I mean, the Key Bridge is now gone, but it had no historical importance. Nor does the Bay Bridge. Why is there always that one person commenting on videos on history that cannot parse the topic at hand and comments in what they want to talk about. You want to make a video on the Key Bridge and the Bay Bridge, go for it. I promise I won't make comments about the Rainbow and Golden Gate Bridge on it.

I had a can of sardines on the Old Man's nose back in 1979. There was also the Indian Head Mountain, wonder how thats doing. Same idea, a profile with all the trees running down the Mt. that looked like a feather head dress

Most of the natural beauty of Indiana Dunes was turned into glassware for Ball Co. The tallest sand dune in the state of Indiana was Hoosier Slide, a 200-foot-tall slide - as in a natural slide you go down. Though today, the only large dune that remains is Mount Baldy

😂 I think it's more about the memories associated with it than seeing the clump of rocks. I remember having more fun at the penny candy store on the weekend drive my family took there when I was a kid. I recall seeing the Old Man but the rock climbers that you could also see were more interesting since they weren't just some rocks sitting there. Yes. It was mostly just kind of neat.
