The Lord Bless You and Keep You (arr. Peter C. Lutkin)

Музыка

As the 2018 spring semester wraps up, I asked a few of my friends from Lee University to join me in singing an arrangement of "The Lord Bless You and Keep You" as a farewell song until the fall. We hope that you are blessed by the video. Don't forget to comment, like, and subscribe!

I remember singing this song in high school. I would cry every time we sang it. I didn’t know then that it was the presence of God. It still makes my eyes water

first time I listened this anthem was in 2005 Xmas night , a opening service of a new chapel, the choir singed it in Chinese. Half a year later I decided to get baptized.

The voices of these young men and women are pure and natural. I can distinctively hear each vocal group. Love the way the groups are mingled. It provides a blended sound. The harmony is beautiful. Have listened to this video several times, and have never heard this song sung better. Well done.

Ahhhhh! We sang this song at the end of each Sunday service in the church I grew up in. Still gives me chills. Thank you for keeping this song alive. Kari Jobe and Cody Karnes version that has exploded worldwide this year is also great, but this one will be a part of me forever.

My father directed the Choirs at First English Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, Wisconsin for many years. I grew up singing in those Choirs and yes, The Lutkin Benediction was sang after each Service from the Church Narthex. Listening to this performance gave me chills and brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for rekindling wonderful memories. Roy Lewis

This benediction transports me through time and space to fifty years of services at Calvary Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C. from singing it in the Children's Choir to hearing it sung by the choir as an adult. Pete C. Lutkin (arrangement) was a genius. My absolute favorite way to end a service sending you out to face the world in joy and peacefulness!

I will pray for your ministry. You are Bible blessed passing on to us it's truth in genuine praise. Jesus sang praises to His Father with His disciples at His last supper on earth. Psalms 113-118. There is a crown in Heaven awaiting all who share (sow) the Gospel of Jesus Christ ( "THE GOSPEL SAVES" below) .1 Thessalonians chapter 2:verse 19; Philippians chapter 4:verse 1 We are ready! Ready to meet our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ in the air. John chapter 14: verse 1-3; Titus chapter 2:verses 11 -14; Rev.chapter 3:verse 10; 1 Thessalonians chapter 5:verse 9 . - This praise resounds across the earth in gentle movements, lighting the skies, dark clouds cover, adding to the glory to God, the light of His truth awakens. "Jesus is Lord and only He saves". - 2 Samuel chapter 22: Verse 50 "Therefore I will praise you, O Lord, out of the countries, and I will praise your name." - THE GOSPEL SAVES! - God the Son (Jesus Christ) has given us the gospel to share with the world. - Mark chapter 16: Verse 15: And He said unto them, Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. - How can anyone hear the "good" news? Romans chapter 10: verse 17 Then faith comes from hearing and hearing the word of God. - Isaiah chapter 7: verse 14: "Therefore the LORD shall give you a sign; behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and call His name Immanuel." Hebrew: עִמָּנוּאֵל, "God with us" in human flesh but without sin. The Savior of the world was born to die for our sins! He did so 33 years later. His terrible ordeal; body mutilated; blood poured out, finally died and was placed in a tomb and rose from the dead the 3rd day ! "HE IS RISEN" Matthew chapter 28: verse 6 - Isaiah chapter 53: verse 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. - IT IS FOUNDED UPON GOD'S LOVE FOR MAN AND WOMAN HE CREATED - John chapter 3: Verse 16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans chapter 3: verse 23 - " For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans chapter 6: verse 23 - " Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.."John chapter 14.verse 6 - "1 Corinthians chapter 15: verse 3 "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" - THE PAYMENT BY HIS BLOOD FOR ALL SINS EVER! - And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 John chapter 2: verse 2 - Romans chapter 5:verse 8 But God demonstrates his love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, now justified by his blood, we will be saved from wrath through him." - “For he (God) hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” 2 Corinthians chapter 5:verse 21. - " In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;." Ephesians chapter 1:verse 7 - Matthew chapter 26:verse 28 "For this is my blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins." (the life is in the blood. He had to pay with His life) - "And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." Hebrews chapter 9:verse 22 - BY GOD'S GRACE ALONE THROUGH FAITH ALONE IN JESUS CHRIST ARE WE SAVED - Ephesians chapter 2:verse 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 not of works, lest any man should boast. - Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sins and rescue us from eternal death. Because of Jesus' death on our behalf, all we have to do is believe in Him, trusting in His death and in the shedding of His blood as payment for our sins, as well as in His resurrection from the dead, and we will be saved! - WHOSOEVER BELIEVES SHALL TESTIFY TO THE TRUTH - Romans 10: 9 That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart man believes in righteousness; And a confession by mouth is given for salvation. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. - TO DIE IS TO REJECT SALVATION IN JESUS CHRIST AND BE SEPARATE FROM GOD FOREVERMORE - Salvation and forgiveness of sins is the blessing of anyone who believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Those who reject the free gift of salvation, see John chapter 3: verse 16 above, "perish", which means their sins are judged by God the Son and they suffer eternal separation from God and the family of God forever called the "second death". Revelation chapter 21: verse 8. - Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. ”Romans chapter 5:verse 1

I agree, & thank you for sharing boldly. I would also add, for clarification, that repentance is necessary for salvation: "And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Acts 2:38 "No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish." Luke 13:3 "From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”" Matt 4:17 "The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance." 2 Peter 3:9 "As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into repenting. For you felt a godly grief, so that you suffered no loss through us. For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death." 2 Cor 7:9-10 Etc... Blessings and Merry Christmas!

@@ORSkie Thank you, beloved. A very blessed Christmas to you in Christ Jesus the Lord and Savior. It is repentance in action receiving the Gospel and confessing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The faithful life proves it. There are falls as well according to 1 John 1:5-10; 2:1-2. Saving faith is born out within first and at that moment salvation occurs by the introduction of God the Holy Spirit sealing a saved sinner as Salvation and forgiveness of sins is the blessing of anyone who believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We receive the baptism of God the Holy Spirit immediately which seals us in Christ and that is permanent! Ephesians chapter 1: verse 13-14. Repentance is NOT an act needed for God to save. Salvation is immediate upon belief. God knows His own.
