I donate eggs from my backyard flock and items for the kids' food packs (our local Catholic church food bank sends home packs for food insecure kids when school is not open for them to get a meal). From August 2021 to January 2022, I had handed out collectible foreign coins, used books, stationery, calendars & diaries, almost new jockey caps, new & nice used clothes, nice used leather wallets & handbags, new & nice used backpacks, used DVDs andmusic compact discs, computer components & cables, new & nice used children's toys, nice used spectacles & sunglasses, canned food, drinking cups and glasses, usable kitchen utensils, and used workshop tools to several needy adults and children. I did not donate any cash.

Owner Operators are the main ones who screwed up the industry by working yourself out of a job or into a low paying situation. I’ve seen so many Owner Operators speeding. Working off the clock and bypassing scales because you’re too heavy are ways to take someone else’s work. Truck Drivers are too greedy and blame everyone else but themselves. Truck Drivers are the ones who allowed greedy companies to take advantage of them and allowed the industry to get like this. Rules create more demand. Breaking rules like, speeding, overweight and overrunning your time clock is basically “watering down” the work.

We are seeing fewer loads for less pay. We pay most of our expenses. The situation will eventually boil down to... we are paying them to haul their freight. The situation is untenable. Something will give... it has too

They are freeloaders! Yet they have cars? This is BS. These people also get food cards. The freeloaders of the valley.

This is one of your best boots on the ground with the pulse on the economy with the truckers, as I was a reefer driver once when I first got into trucking, Indio was a major pick-up point for produce to all the grocery stores. All these truckers support Trump!

Maybe they could afford food if they had used cars, and stop spending on endless entertainment and toys and jewelry and drugs and tobacco and liquor and designer clothing and gambling and fancy housing. Maybe some of these people have wrong priorities. But if their suffering isn't due to their irresponsible behavior, let them have free food.

Well, to be fair, used cars can be money pits that require expensive repairs. Replacing a transmission, etc., is not cheap. At least with a new car, you have a warranty for a couple of years or the first hundred thousand miles.

You know, we used to donate to the local food bank every month. My husband has lost his job and we can no longer make that donation. How long until those who are supporting it actually require it?

Americans had years to prepare…. Instead they spent it pretending they were rich. My sympathy/ empathy level is about zero.

They will get what they deserve. I live below my means and I am able to save money every month. No Netflix, no Starbucks, no McDonalds, no any restaurants, no trips to Vegas, Vail CO, Florida etc. I drive cheap cars. All my cars I pay cash Craigslist deals from private owners. Never go to the dealerships and all my car repairs/maintenance I do myself. I don't feel sorry for the other lazy people !

I guess unlike many here, I won’t judge based on the car make or model…I won’t assume. Job loss, severe illness like cancer can hit, medical bills etc. We support two elderly parents, we are fortunate that we are able to do that without any assistance. Find a charity that actually uses the money to help, it takes research and time…but we have a few local here that don’t have officers making millions but do good work. Take 15 minutes and research
