Thx this pointed out the limits for fast charging a smaller EV vs swappable battery packs, that make far more sense. So it's good news Honda, KTM, Piaggio and Yamaha Motor are forming a Swappable Batteries Consortium for Motorcycles and Light Electric Vehicles... www.reuters.com/article/us-piaggio-batteries-consortium/piaggio-ktm-honda-and-yamaha-to-create-swappable-batteries-consortium-idUSKCN2AT1QC?il=0 For example it would allow leased battery modules, that would be swapped for "Fully Charged" ones.... And they could be located anywhere electric was available... Even from remote PV solar locations to use excess electric production to cost effectively run a business, even by the poor with the right financing ... Just a thought... You can not do that with a gas/petrol station :)

Great to see the full interview. Over the three shows, my wife and I fell in love with Charlie. This guy is a true rider, he just loves bikes and Ewan. Listening to a longer interview here is wonderful, thanks for sharing Robert.

Such a nice guy is Charley Boorman. Was a child star in films like Excalibur and The Emerald Forest - two movies to enjoy. Now does occasional character parts when he isn't doing other work. Robert, please, please please get him to test ride some Zeros, and all the other big electric bikes. Plus I'd like to hear his thoughts on the new Sondor Metacycle. Oh, and perhaps he could do a quick review of that new Harley Livewire? 😋

I watched the whole series of Long Way Up and hadn’t been familiar with the earlier rides or Charley in any capacity. It was fascinating to see them on their their voyage of discovery and get to know him through that medium and see what a thoroughly nice bloke he is. I do hope you do find more bikes to let him do the reviews which I would watch with great interest even though I’m not a biker, as he is sincere and entertaining and would be a great asset to Fully Charged on the right subjects.

Long Way Up was fantastic as were the others - but staggering how they 'prepped' using prototype everything, landing in the far south - 'oh - its winter'. Made for a very engaging series. Harley and Rivian - absolute stars.

no, its not. Ewan rambled about his feelings the entire trip, they cut out everything charley said except his accident, and the scenery was fantastic. But Ewan was on a mission from hollywood to talk about his feelings and screwed it all up

Why did you enjoy long way up? They didn't even give charley any screen time. they just edited his comments out and left in Ewan saying some dumb sappy hollywood bullcrap about feelings. The average youtuber can make a higher quality bike trip video than this.

I've made that point several times to people. The early Model T owners had to scavenge fuel where they could and had the same issues we have with EV's. But the problem has been solved so should be much faster this time.

No they don't. Ewan rambled on about his feelings and tried to add so much fake drama that the long way up sucked hard. You could tell charley would get a look on his face and he was trying to say something interesting, but Ewan would interrupt him and give us a line from hollywood. The average youtuber makes better content biking through south america

Do these bikes have the the protection system that regulates the temperature of the battery to improve it's performance? All modern electric cars have this system now. A lot has been learned about the problems with the Nissan Leaf in 2011. So I am wondering if a bike has the room for a system like that or they leave it out to lower the price.

The motor does have a water cooling jacket around it. They are around that price here in the USA, OTR can be to 34k but there are rebates and incentives in some states I looked at getting one but the under 100 miles range on the highway and my insurance would be almost 4k for a year I'll pass for now. LOL I just sold my gas powered Harley in December to help fund my future EV.
