"The New Masters of Mugam" are young masters of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory in Baku, where the centuries-old Mugam tradition has been taught and cultivated for decades.
The University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar / Transcultural Music Studies invited "The New Masters of Mugam" to the Long Night of Music Cultures on 3 July 2014.

Dear Mr. Melvin, the wind instrument you are refering to is named "Balaban". This instrument is prepared from mulberry tree, walnut-tree and especially apricot tree. The word "Balaban" is created from two different Azerbaijan words - "bala" and "ban", and the meaning of this word is "a dismal sound". It is a double reed instrument, a type of "oboe". If you ask a radicalist bullshit mullah about it, they will say yes, but Islam on its own never ever prohibited music, there is nothing about it in quran or hadith

Bu qeder gozel qrupa ,ozunu Alime oxsadan ve ritm problemi olan xanenede neye gerekdir. Cox ustasiniz, ozunuzu kimese oxsatmayin.Oxuyani cixmaq serti ile Azerbaycanda nomre birsiniz!
