There was a sign they put on the side of the trailer when it was being hauled advertising what the trailer was for; my Grandpa painted the sign. Not much to most but we're all very proud!!!

This is such an amazing story! I'll bet it come up every holiday, and family get-together! That's so cool your family is a part of this iconic American duo's history!

I love this movie. I watched it with my mom when I was a kid.

This movie was a true classic in my opinion . They both looked like they were having fun together. and Lucy's singing was pretty good. I would definitely watch it again .

when I was 5 my family lived in 3 states in 3 yrs. and my dad chased teaching jobs to CA. We lived in a trailer, and I rode on the original RT. 66, but, did not realize it till later. So, this movie reminds me of my childhood, and I love it

The scene where she's cooking dinner while he's driving is hilarious.

Very much recommended for all ages of all generations!!! Absolutely a gem of a movie.

Now I'm all in the mood to watch this today.

I just want to write that my name is Josh and i want to write that this is one of my favorite films. Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz filmed this film in the summer of 1953 and then after they were done shooting this film they had to start working on the third season of I Love Lucy right away.. When this film was released in theatres in February 1954 it was a huge success because I Love Lucy was aired on television in black in white and The Long Long Trailer was a colorized film. my favorite scene in this film is when Lucy and Desi are singing a song together while driving in the car and you got to see that Lucille Ball actually had a great singing voice because the recurring gag on I Love Lucy was that Lucy Ricardo had a terrible singing voice. The Long Long Trailer is one of my favorite films.

This movie makes me want to get a cute 50s trailer. Something like a Spartan.

My wife and I plan on buying a Short, Short Trailer and traveling around this great big country of ours. Of course this movie comes to mind (which I have on DVD). I absolutely love this movie!

I looooooooooooooooooove this movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lucy and Desi are the best! Love 'em both so much. Never gets old and that trailer is absolutely stylish. I also love the soundtrack, particularly the main theme. Old movies are definitely the bee's knees. Recommend this to anyone out there who hasn't seen it yet. You're gonna love it!

Keep in mind, the Mercury Monterey Desi drives is towing that long long trailer with only a 125hp flathead V8. LOL. That must have been some engine!

Iggy Pop grew up in a trailer just like this one. His folks gave him the bedroom so he could practice drums. True story.

Did anybody else notice the Blooper in this trailer? Desi calls her Lucy. The character's name was Tacy.

People probably just called the characters Lucy and Ricky anyway, so it didn't matter what their characters were called. You could've named her Persephone and him Aloysius and people still would've called them Lucy and Ricky.

FUNNY FILM ! JUST WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT. I WAS 9 YEARS OLD WHEN I SAW IT IN THE THEATER. EVEN NOW, IT'S HILARIOUS ! IN THE MOVIE, HER NAME IS "STACY" ! IN THE TRAILER, HE CALLS HER "LUCY" EVERY TIME ! WORTH WATCHING. 👍👍👍👍

This movie was hilarious. I can't get over how much Lucy and Desi reminded me of my parents. My Mother was a lot like the female character in this movie, and my Dad was a lot like Desi. Everytime he'd tell her not to do something, she'd do it. I should write a book.

We have a 32 footer, 4 feet shorter than the one used in the movie, so we can relate. We've seen it a few times and keep meaning to watch it again.

Not "tough"..try IMPOSSIBLE. My dad was a Lincoln-Mercury salesman during that era..and he said that the mountain scene would have been possible, only if they had COMPLETELY gutted the trailer, before shooting that scene..otherwise the car's transmission would have been DESTROYED, after only a couple hundred feet, up that grade.

My dad asked me if I wanted to watch this with him, let me just say, that man has the most patience out of anyone I’ve ever met or have seen. He’s better than me, I would’ve already been having second thoughts after being in the trailer before the wedding ceremony where everyone was yelling 💀

I just love the theme to this movie!

How about a fully restored 1953 Mercury to go with it? Prices started at 2,057$ in 1953. The Monterey was slightly higher. You could even get Power Brakes. Source information; American Car Spotters Guide 1940 - 1965. Oh yeah, and a flat head V8 engine. Oh yes, the trailer was very nice indeed. Fun movie.

The first movie I ever saw. I was three, in '54, I guess; movies came late to our town. I knew Lucy and Desi well from TV. I was greatly troubled as the familiar couple endured one mishap after another.

When I was 10, my family and my dad’s best friend’s family rented a cottage in cottage country in Ontario. First day we get there, one the 9 of us got terribly i’ll, within 24 days all 9 of us got it, the weather was horrible. We all had to pile on the pull out couch together, puke buckets in hand, watching the The Long Long Trailer. We loved it. Great movie. Despite it all we were able to laugh together at Lucy & Desi and we ended up having a great time.

TROPIXSTARZ I think that he or she meant that you didn't have a seatbelt so you could sit in virtually any position you wanted. Like when they were singing the song at the end of this trailer and Lucy was sideways in her seat kind've like she was sitting in a sofa.

50s cars were all about leisure and luxury. You wanted to be as comfy as possible. But with comfort comes compromises for safety lol. Metal dashboards, cone shaped steering wheel to impale you if you crash. But damn they were cool.

if that trailer were being pulled today you would see a one ton dually with a fifth wheel in the bed @2:34

Their character names were Tacy and Nicky.. instead of Lucy and Ricky. When Lucille doesn't play such a silly lady, you really notice how pretty she actually was.

Dean $1800.00 was the movie price....actual trailer was priced at $5000.00.

I said below "I was three in '54", but I think it more likely I was five in '56, and the movie came very late to our theatre, as a Sat. matinee.

My dad and I have an old new moon trailer that exact model in fact ours is sky blue though. We use it to go camping all the time

The end of the trailer was giving Natalie making fun of Annie on season 4 lol

This great movie called in germany "Villa mit 100PS" .

This movie actually has an almost surreal bent to it (not a bad thing) and the colors are scrumptious.

I read that this movie wasn’t a financial success, presumably because people could see Lucy and Desi each week for free on TV, so why pay to see them in a theater? If so, audiences missed out on a very enjoyable film.

Good job! I'm glad someone other than me knows the right year. But it was filmed in 53 released in 54.

We lived in one like this only blue. From age 3 to age 12.

That movie is just so-so because not enough effort was made to make their Nicky and Tacy characters different from their TV Ricky and Lucy characters. They were the same, but with different names. Tacy was a screwball and Nicky sang. Blah!
