    I always get my white knight to e5 because you are "supposed" to, but it becomes extremely inactive at that point. Is it just done for defensive purposes or is there something you can do with it?

    I've had good success with it, but against my fellow sub-1000 opponents. Usually I castle queen-side. There are videos where better players try to use it and they just get destroyed.
