The Little Village with a Big Heart ♥️ | Story of Todnam, Pin Valley, Spiti - 1/6
This is a story very close to my heart. The story of a village that gave me refuge after a snowstorm. The story of a family that took me in and made me one of their own. The story of a culture changing rapidly with time while also staying true to its roots. The story of one of the most beautiful, harshest places in our country. This is the story of Todnam. The little village with a big heart.

Personally, I feel that places such as Todnam should remain pure and untouched by tourism. But the villagers feel otherwise and feel left out of the tourism boom that places like Mudh experience. It is not really my place to stand in the way of their aspirations.
If you like to visit Todnam then please get in touch with my friend Nawang Tanzin. It is his dream to open the first homestay in the village. His number is 94186 02537. This is the most I can do and I feel guilty for doing this. Please do not comment/message me asking for more details about the village.

Hello brother, you are a beautiful human being who is doing a beautiful work by telling these untold stories. We are really mesmerized by the amount of efforts you are putting in narrating the story through this documentary. If only all the tourists and adventurers were like you, people might actually trust outsiders. People like you are always welcome in hills.
I could hardly even leave my bed when I was in Manali during winter season. I could not imagine how cold it is in that village. Nevertheless, amazing video ! -from Philippines

Thank you Tanzin. Yes it is very important to save your culture. I'm afraid it is going to be very difficult with the introduction of Jio. The next generation will get more and more distracted about 'modern' things and will not care about their traditions. This is what happened to me as well when i was growing up.

Spiti Valley remind me of Tibet. The culture and tradition of the people are similar to Tibet. These small small pocket places of Tibet became part of India after 1959. India did made a good deal with China. Thank you for covering the story.
