The rules of swaps are really easy: 1) Any male role can be swapped to female. Female roles cannot be swapped to male, unless it's part of an overall swap (such as Chris Hemsworth in Ghostbusters 2016). 2) Any white character can be swapped to any other ethnicity. No other ethnicity can be swapped to white. Also, once a character is swapped from white, that character can never be white ever again. 3) Diverse means not-white. It's okay to have all characters be any other ethnicity, but an all-white cast is not allowed.

Yes - when feminists get what they want thanks to the media control, they'll demand things that have no basis in reality. Including, "if the man didn't ask permission then it's rahpe!" In reality there is seduction, and women want to be seduced. The instinct, if it has to be explained, is for women to get a man stronger than themselves who they can rely on, and a man who doesn't have determination and drive doesn't exactly signal strength. Girls I have been with love the seduction and then more in that direction, which I will leave out of the KZread comment section.

@monas it's hilarious when people go straight to Halle's skin color, being the reason that someone didn't like the movie. I have no problem with an African, Asian, Hispanic, or Caucasian mermaid. What matters to me is acting, how the cgi looks, music, and story. They acting in the film was awful, the cgi was too much, Halle definitely had the vocals, but Eric's and skuttles songs were unnecessary. I love Daveed, but he dropped the ball with Sebastien. They added unnecessary plot that weren't needed. Nice try with the bait though.

I got to disagree. The writers either by choice or by contract are given a checklist of things to include in the script, and they include it. Even when it obviously is at the detriment of the story telling. If you ever wonder why the writer's guild is striking, it is because when you have a list for an agenda you want in a film or TV project and you feed this information to an AI, the AI can generate a script just as bad as the writers themselves. In short, when you take the creativism out of the process you get generic mush of a storyline and the writers find themselves out of work.

My god, you would think the only movie they were showing this weekend was the little mermaid. They are pushing this movie hard. I get that they probably do this with every new release, but when the average sit time (previews, advertisements, and the movie itself) is going to push over 2.5 hours, having so many showings just seems a bit insane. This weekend is going to tell the tell. If this movie doesn't do at least 125 million domestic, that same theater listed above is likely to have maybe three showings a day. If it does well (which would surprise me) probably twice that.

After that it will be like a modern Marvel film and ticket sails drop off drastically.

What if they refused to watch it? You'll force them? That's slavery! And slavery, and colonization, is the reason why Western nations must now adopt this multiethnic trend. For those who don't know, once upon a time, Western nations were very evil to coloured folks, and that is why they are trying to make amends, and one of the best ways they thought of is to feature coloured folks in media. Notice how China and all East and Southeast Asian nations don't have to do that, or India, or Africa? And what is the commonality with the people of these places? They did not enslave; they did not colonize; they did not steal. Conclusion: don't do evil things to other people otherwise you will feel guilty, or others will make you feel guilty, and you will be forced to make amends.

I want to mention that the little mermaid ig account that leaked things out is such a amazing community. They love to take things in an extreme way which makes me sooo satisfied. Calling people that have negative opinions on this movie hater or racist is just like calling people who like the movie a blindly follower. Besides the joke, I can’t stand with the drama. Some people said “oh, the original story didn’t even mention Ariel’s skin at all” which turn out the story has mentioned it many times. I have to say that the guide book is more interesting and worth seeing than the movie itself. They actually said there’s beautiful structures under the sea. Some mermaids live in shipwreck, Mala’s community had trade with human before Ariel’s mother died, I’m so disappointed that they completely ignore their own lore. And some of those defender didn’t read this guide book saying “mermaid’s culture probably different than human!” Completely hit their faces after reading the guide book. I watch the movie just because how much I love Ariel but it still not a good movie
