I was 12 when this came out, and I have the same love and nostalgia for it. This is the Disney movie of our generation, not to mention arguably the best Disney movie ever. When I hear that first note, it's like, "All 90's kids, please rise for your pledge of allegiance."

This is one of my most favorite songs! I was working teaching teen parents about infant care and this song always went through my head when a new baby was born! I love this cast and the joy in this song. I searched for similar songs but couldn't find any. Thank you.

You have to understand, musical acts on NYC subways are pretty common. Broadway performances definitely aren't, but subway artists are actually pretty good. They have to be because they always ask for money at the end, which is what I suspect a lot of the passengers were expecting. Us New Yorkers also like our quiet time on the train, however short a ride it is, and hate when it's interrupted, no matter what it is. We perfected the art of pretending we're either asleep or just don't see you. That said, if I'd been there I would've been singing right along with them! And then pretended I was asleep, lol.

Also I saw some people with their phones in their hands recording as well as flashes going off from some pictures being taken. I also saw some people at the end the performance give some of the performers high fives. So just because they were not "crying" doesn't mean they were ungrateful. People need to stop ASSuming (and I emphasize the word ass everyone reacts differently) they did not enjoy the performance.

What a fantastic experience for actors singers and the passengers on that commute to see, feel, the emotions of that sung. Its her hold a book like she's doing this practically in her sleep with no effort for me. I will say though if I'd been standing beside her n didn't know she was going to do that I may have possibly hurt her when she frightened the crap out of me. I'd need a change of clothes, an ambulance n something that says im so sorry, it was a reflex and ur incredibly talented.

This is so spectacular! The performers my God the voices from the motherland! This reminds me of my singing days in high school. The choir and myself would break out in song everywhere! Harmony, harmony harmony to the heavens. Weather on campus or on the school, headed for a competition. The music resonated from our souls!💞🌞 BJ/ATL-USA

Im a New yorker and stuff like this happens in the train a lot, like dancers or musicians just randomly getting on and doing their thing, so people are used to it. That's why they're not acting too excited. But a lot of people are still impressed though, they just don't show it

Such a beautiful show. I took my daughter when they were in Vegas and literally got teary eyed at this song. This would be such an amazing experience.

Usually happens on the Lexington Ave lines(read 4,5,6). The beggars show up on the west side and crosstown lines(read 1,2,3, N,R, Q).

When my grandma was alive we went to the broadway lion king. It was so fun watching them do this song and feel like you were really in the movie. I miss my grandma and every time I watch the lion king I think of that time we went to go and see it and how much fun it was for all of us grandkids.

Omg the voice on that woman made me cry!! What a pair of lungs she has !! Absolutely loved that…

I CAN'T be the only one who cried literal tears of joy watching those two little girls faces light up as they began to sing along, right? Music truly transcends language and this is proof.

Thrilling! And I was only watching it on my phone! Love the utter delight and enjoyment of most people. The two little girls were joining in and jumping with delight. What a lovely experience the singers have shared. ❤️

What a joy and awesome memory to have been on that train! I come back to feel some of that joy from time to time!

This is DEFINITELY one of things I miss about living in NYC. ANY TIME this happened when I was on the Subway, I would ALWAYS join in with them. I sang with the OBC cast of Rent (Seasons of ♥️) back in 1996, the revival cast of Chicago (All That Jazz), the revival cast of Cabaret (Wilkkomen) at Studio 54 back in 1998, & with The Wild Party cast in 2000. It's REALLY a HUGE privilege.

This is like the best thing ever. I just wonder how many people singing were actually a part of the Lion King cast and how many just felt the urge to sing along with them. I know if I was there, despite not being a cast member, I would've been harmonizing right along with them. This is just so amazing to me.
