The link between Japanese, Korean and Chinese Sword Arts in the Joseon Dynasty [collab podcast]

Спорт

Hey everyone, I had a great opportunity to do a collaboration with The Scholar-General and Nate the Aussie - links to their channel below. We discussed the links between Japanese, Korean and Chinese sword manuals and techniques from the 1500s to the 1700s. We looked at a few texts including Jedok Geom from Muyedobotongji, Ssangsudo from Muyedobotongji, Qi Jiguang's Wubeizhi, Cheng Zongyou's Dandaofaxuan and Aisu Ikosai's Kage Ryu scroll.
Please let me know if you like our discourse and would like to see more collaborations like this.

Bug is back in force! This unabridged talk is spectacular. We need more interdisciplinary discussions of these historical focal points. Great points all around guys and love the facts brought to light. Can’t wait to see which of you will be the first to use Jedi techniques using reverse grip on a 2m sword… 😊

Was fun for sure. Though if you bring more weird tengu scrolls I'll have to seriously think about future collabs.....

1:24:37 Check out Dlatrex’s relatively recent video on pirates. I think the English pirates describe something similar

I'm alive! I'll try and post some more vids soon but I probably won't be able to get back to the old weekly schedule. Thanks for the support for all this time though!
