The life onboard an anchor handling vessel. AHTS. Life at sea!

Ойын-сауық

This is a video from the life onboard an anchor handler vessel. Hardworking guys.
Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessels are mainly built to handle anchors for oil rigs, tow them to location, and use them to secure the rigs in place. Many of these vessels are designed to meet the harsh conditions of the North Sea. hey also provide towing assistance during tanker loading, deepwater anchor handling, and towing of threatening objects.

I wish this had some one talking to explain. I sort of get it. I was brought here because there are 2 of these retired vessels by my house and I cruise by on my boat and it’s fascinating

AHTs are probably the most versatile of vessels. They usually have a big crane, can carry sea containers and often ROVs on deck. Below deck: mud, grout, methanol, offload fuel - you name it.

Anchor Handling is one of the most dangerous operations at sea lot of incidents ending fatal. The second most dangerous work is mooring line handling and risk of deadly snapbacks. guess what i will be joining an AHTS in a few days

Shout out to all AHTS and PSV crews in the North Sea, I worked on BigOrange XVIII Stimulation ship in the North Sea for a while, NORWEGIAN BUILT Ulstein vessel launched in 1986 and still working. Does anyone know this 'Queen of the North Sea' ? Originally based in Montrose Scotland then Esbjerg ! Any stories welcome, I have a specific page that features her often. I also had a hand in Deepstim Norway I and II Stimulation ships built by Island Offshore , Allesund !
