I watched him practice in Melbourne in 2015. One lap he'd be up on the fence. Next time he'd be on the white line. Next lap mid track. He'd move a little bit and the tyre would grip and hurl him down the straight. I've never seen anyone ride with so much ease and skill. And he's so relaxed under pressure.

Wow. My father was a solo champion for many years down here in Tassie. He was my hero. I can still remember as a kid telling all my friends, "that's my dad". I never see british or other countries solo racing other than scratch races. My dad used to do both scatch and handicap racing. On a handicap race, dad used to start 3/4 of a lap behind the pole sitter with his own flag man to start the race for him. Once on a scratch race, as the starter rope went up, his throttle stuck full on, done a huge wheelie which sat him on his ass on the track. The bike took off on its own, hit the first corner fence, went into the infield, hit the water truck and fell over revving its head off. 4 guys including dad ran to it and lifted it up with front wheel into the truck and dug it into dirt until it stalled. He then popped throttle cable back in, lined up for a complete restart and won the race to a standing ovation from the 5000+ crowd. Do you know who it was. That was my dad. I've had a broken scaphoid as well on my 660 quad racer. There is no pain that can describe that. Well done Tai. Solo racing is a real mans sport. Oh, for those that don't know, Tassie is the island state of Australia.

He travelled over 3000 miles in one week….which means so did the mechanics which must be totally exhausted also! The racing part is easy! It’s the prep, traveling and maintaining that takes it toll. This is where the word TENACITY comes into play……never give up! Separates the winner from the losers! Best of luck Tai!

I was beginning to respect Tai until the sexist throw away line about girls doing what they do best which was ironing, and this to the woman who cooks, cleans, washes his clothes & lets him stay in her house @30:05 Grow up Tai, your not the only young kid to lose his Dad but if you don't change your attitude about women and 'their place in the world' you'll grow old lonely and angry.
