What a great time for Rock n Roll! So glad I grew up in the 80's but so bummed when they broke up my junior year in highschool!!! Still love blasting The Cars every summer, windows down, speeding down the highway!
My first concert was The Cars in 1982 when I was 14. Great band. Moving in Stereo was always my favorite.

Thank you, I appreciate you 🤗
I really liked him singing Magic 🪄 my favorite Car's song 🎼🎶
Door To Door(1987) remains a severely underrated album, an artistic peak IMO…I don’t know why the fans are always so quick to dismiss it…Thankfully, Ric lived a full life even though he passed too soon….
Very well done on this, great account of Ric's life and music, still love "Emotion in Motion! and have the vinyl single, and just ordered "This side of Paradise" album thanks to this video. RIP Ric and Benjamin.

@@RedheadLondon I'm not sure, didn't see anything about that when researching for the vid. I just did a google search and didn't find anything that would verify that either. But in some photos they do look related though lol 😁

@@RedheadLondon Yes! They definitely look like they could be brothers 😄👌
I was never a big fan, I was into hard rock, punk and metal, but for what they did they were one of the best, and they have grown on me over the years, I love the song Drive, this is a really good video but the timeline is all over the place.
Such a great band and so many awesome and amazing memories to their music God I really miss the good old days and all my friends that I used to party and hang out with but just like the cars their time has passed as well and today all I see are the memories in the rearview may they all in peace 🍻🙏😔
I always liked Ric's solo song"Somethin' to grab for",cool video too.
Great songs,Great memories, 70's 80's what a time to be Alive"
A very talented man. 🇬🇧🌹🌹🌹
Oh dear! How did I miss that he's gone? Oof! The Cars and Wang Chung were my first "big girl" concert that I went to.

Alpine Valley, Wisconsin. Something like 1984 😀I have had some real-life adventures in the music world, that would make many people faint dead away, to hear about 😀

If you ever do one about Stevie Ray Vaughan, I can send you a ticket stub photo, from his very last show. I was there! 😀
The Cars weren't new wave. They were rock 'n roll.

😆 - I guess Pink Floyd was a country western band then huh?
They were great at Live Aid in '85
My favorite Ocasek solo song is "All We Need is Love".
Ric and The Cars were the evolution of R&R from the late 70's into the 80's. Who can forget not only their sound but the great music videos on MTV! One of the most beautiful Car's songs and of any playlist, "Drive." Ric and Benjamin 🙏✝♥
40 years 🎂 since Heartbeat City was released. Roy Baker gave The Cars 🚗 a start producing the debut album to the 4th album. Mutt Lange produced the 5th and most popular album. Drive 🚗 is the signature song 🎵. RIP Ric Ocasek and Ben Orr.
My ex girlfriend stole my copy Just What I Needed! I still miss that album!
Another award he should've received is for those ginormous ears, it was said he could hear a pin drop from 40 kilometers.
Panorama is such a great album
As a non musician... and a bit off topic here... a video like this makes me contemplate the roll of the keyboard player.... Hence: 1. Greg Hawke... The Cars 2. Nick Rhodes.... Duran Duran 3. Tony Banks.. Genesis 4. Tony Kaye.... Yes 5. Michael Lardie...Great White 6. Jon Lord.... Deep Purple 7. Marc Avsec.... Donnie Iris and the Cruisers... and Wild Cherry... ( ya gotta be from eastern Ohio/ western PA to appreciate this... ) There are many many more I am sure.... I'm pretty buzzed.... so, please help me out....please...y'all..

Correct, the keys are understated yet dominant in all those bands.
My cousin Faye Marie dated him for a short time
I thought he was very cold and heartless to his ex-wife and two of his children.
I grew uo with the cars music especially my teenage years they rocked mtv rip mr ocasek
I grew up outside of Boston in the late '60's and '70's. WBCN played alot of local bands. Saw the Cars with Wang Chung as the opener. The Cars were so loud I thought my ears would bleed.
I much prefer Ric in solo and I met his friend Alan Vega on october 1983
So bad to know that Ric's last wife abandoned him long before his death, that might be the cause of his passing away. Shame on you Periskova, you should have been next to your husband all the way.
Ric would be 80 this year! 😮
I saw the Cars in 1984- they abbreviated all of their songs. It was a huge letdown. 👎🏻

Did they just do a medley? I never like it when they do that.
Paulina wore him down
He left nothing for his kids or model wife
Ric was no doubt a genius. He was incredibly talented. I know he is depicted as an ass and very egotistical. However, I have read that his father was very strict and controlling, probably causing Ric to be insecure and he played the role of superiority. RIP Richard.
He was a narcissist.
I wonder why he removed 2 of his sons from his will.
