This is the story of the first Swengoolie. It makes me understand why he passed the role to Rick Koz. Danger Woman
Nothing sad about that life or ending. Wonderful full life and career. RIP
A lot of this story and pictures are not true... I am his daughter

Wow! Thanks for chiming in! I was a super-big fan of S.Y.T. Fortunately, living close to you, in Deerfield, I used to run into him uptown, mainly at Ford Pharmacy, on the SE corner of Deerfield/Waukegan roads. Very friendly and amicable; always had time to chat! A creative genius, for sure, and a gifted musician, may he R.I.P.

Jerry G Show on Cleveland TV was on Saturday nights and had very cool bands usually local sometimes national acts. Kind of like American Bandstand. 1965-66 ish. His Svengoolie is (to me) heavily influenced by the wildly popular Ghoulardi in Cleveland 1963-66. Ghoulardi was portrayed by Ernie Anderson who became the voice of ABC. The father of director Paul Thomas Anderson.
Always pathetic when someone produces a video (such as this) with incorrect pictures and information.
A "SAD" ending? Doesn't EVERYBODY have a sad ending? Sheesh!

Nope Rich Koz is on metv Saturdays. Metv didn't even exist in Jerry Bishop days.
This video should really be removed for bad and inaccurate information. A lot of the pictures were NOT Jerry, not just a couple and SAD ending? Give me break. Went into this hoping for something good. What a sad video.
Ummm... the picture at 0:03 is Rich Koz, who was the second Svengoolie, after Jerry Bishop was the first and the show had been cancelled.
I didn't know there was an original Svengoolie, I thought Rich Koz was the only one.

Not sure what sad ending this guy had seemed like he lived a good long life in good times

I definitely remember him from age 4, while my family lived in Illinois. I had a NIGHTMARE that made me JUMP out of my sleep! He would creep out of that casket! GOOD GRIEF 😩😆🤣💯👀 🧟♀️
