The Lie Behind the Star | Quinn's Graphic Novel

The universe is incomprehensibly vast. Earth is an unprotected bubble surrounded in infinite cosmic emptiness. Within that darkness, that eternal blackness who knows what might wait, and what eventually might call out to us. The Lie Behind The Star, follows the Waanzilishi, a civilization who deep within caverns of the earth discovered strange pulsating mushrooms, mushrooms which they grew to understand were actually reacting to something remote, very remote. The bioluminescent mushrooms were somehow responding to a distant signal from outer space, undetectable through normal means. The consumption of the Mushrooms brought visions of the cosmos, a wealth of outside knowledge. At night under the influence of the mushrooms they would dance wildly beneath the earth illuminated by the thousands upon thousands of pulsating fungi, filled with the music of the universe.
As time went on the attachment between the Waanzilishi and the mushrooms grew stronger. Some among them claimed that they could themselves hear the call of the signal, which they named the Kimora. In time three children would be born, The Waanzilishi, using what they have learned, changed the children somehow, made them a part of the fungal network, they became, The Three Who Are One. By directly linking into the fungal network they could manipulate it, initiate its growth, use it to produce chemicals, and biological substances of all kinds. The Three Who are One were granted by the fungus near unending life, around them eventually grew an immense city all formed from the biological matter of the fungus. It was said that the Three Who are One could hear the Kimora at all times, that their purpose was guided by the Kimora and the Kimora alone.
The Waanzilishi prospered and grew, advancing themselves, technologically, philosophically, and intellectually whilst simultaneously the Kimora took on heavily mystical and religious significance. Many believe that the Kimora, was the voice of a Goddess, that the Waanzilishi were her chosen people. To the Waanzilishi, the Adjeki, the outsiders played no role, they were not chosen by Kimora. Eventually it became the mission of the Waanzilishi to find their goddess. The Three who are one declared that those who heard the Kimora most strongly would be taken as children and trained for a mission, a mission they may never return from, aboard a biological vessel they would leave the earth, and seek her out.

How was your experience with the publishing process? I’ve had about five horrible experiences with different publishers , so I’m asking you because this was a success, and is a success I have been sitting on a concept for about a year now and would love to launch it. Sci fi has brain-washed Naive people in believing in Aliens; Space Conquest; etc.... In reality; advanced life is few and far in between...and totally dependent on its planets biome.. Space-life and travel is impossible...

DUDE! Way to go, this is awesome. I've enjoyed your videos for so long, and this one was hitting especially good. Then when you said "BOOM it's my book baby" I was so freaking excited for you. It sounds like a really good story, and I quite enjoyed your introduction to it. This sounds soooo good. I love horrifying philosophical science. I've watched your channel since back when it was Ideas Of Ice and Fire. I remember seeing a channel called Quinn's ideas talking about science fiction and had no idea when I'd subscribed to it...took me a solid two videos before I realized the name change😅 either way, I love your content and this has me incredibly excited to see where the story goes
I love the concept that the psychedic effects of mushrooms are a byproduct of communication between a cosmic alien intelligence and humanity. Fantastic concept brother and thanks for all you do for sci-fi fans w this channel. Incidentally, I tried buying your graphic novel, and my credit card didn't go through. I checked to make sure the info was correct, but still no go. Just letting you know there may be an issue there.

The only downside is the projected release date, but I totally get how these things work. It's kind of awesome, though. By the time it's released, I'll have 1/2 forgotten about it, so it will be an amazing surprise present to myself. 😁

Okay two QuinnsIdeas videos in two days in a row? Yeah I could get used to this. I’ve said it once I’ll say it again man you easily put out some of the best content on KZread. I hope you find great success with your Graphic Novel. I like the premise of the mycorrhizal network and access to it, as well as the bio machines which removes the need for advance tech to be introduced for the story. Also do you know that the structure of the universe and galactic clusters with their networks of filaments of plasma and dark matter are studied by the analogue of growing mycorrhizal networks in the lab? This makes a nice connection to actual science study going on today.

I owe quite a lot to your channel, Quinn. Over the last 5 or 6 years I've had a number of traumatic experiences that robbed me of one of my life's pleasures -- reading a good book. Try as I might, whenever I've tried sitting down to have a good read I've felt like I'd lost my reading mojo -- "I've lost me mojo!" This upset me significantly. I've kept buying books at a prodigious rate, and since I discovered your channel, watching your videos has helped keep enough interest in reading that I've began regaining my reading mojo once more. Some of the books I've bought due to your channel are Peter Watts' Firefall, the Three-body Problem series and Off Armageddon Reef by David Weber. That means more to me than you could know.
