Great time management from Hikaru on the uploads, premoving one recap, then taking his time at a critical moment for the next

All things considered, the thing Levy struggled with the most is his mental, and ever since he came back, he's been getting a confidence boost both from playing online with the chrome extension, getting really good wins over strong opponents, and from having great performances over the board, with even Hikaru saying he's doing a lot right! Must be great to have everything go your way and show you that you are, in fact, a pretty good player after all
A part of me thinks Hikaru is doing this slightly in spite of Levy for all the times he beat Hikaru to the recaps 😂

I love how sometimes you have an idea to say and then completely distort the English language to communicate something without stopping your thinking. “The start of the going in the process of losing the game”
the line at 5:59 is insane, and the fact that it is in Hikaru's prep is also insane I'm nowhere near this level of chess, but hearing a super GM explain IM moves is such a cool part of modern chess
@jarateman6427

What do u mean in Hikaru's prep,they're all using stockfish to tell them these line. Its wasn't part of anyone's prep.
@plasmatr
25 күн бұрын
@@jarateman6427 1. Using Stockfish and memorizing moves is basically the definition of prep nowadays 2. You still have to understand all of the moves, why they are good, what are the follow-ups and how to punish your opponent if they don't play the best moves, which is called *studying*, which you might have never heard of before!
@jarateman6427
25 күн бұрын
1. I didn't say it wasn't. I said it wasn't in Hikaru's prep. Hikaru analyzed a game played by others, then used the engine to show the line I was replying about. 2. Stockfish shows you moves. It will show you the best followup moves period, no matter what your opponent does. 3. I have heard of studying.

Hikaru said it is likely that Levy gains his 3 GM norms, but it will be hard for him to reach 2500 ELO bc he's 150 points away from it, meaning he will need to be playing tournaments on a high level for a couple of years. Hikaru has said multiple times that Levy has what it takes to become a GM, he just doesn't think he will get there, bc very much like Hikaru, being a content creator is his job, playing chess in tournaments is a hobby and it will be hard to keep that schedule, that's why Hikaru currently plays less than 6 tournaments a year, while Levy wants to play 1 to 2 tournaments a month.
hikaru secretly coaching levy in the clout shadows
i love the way he explains. very clear
Actually loving Hikaru's reviews of Levy's games! For me the biggest improvements seen in Levy are in his psychology, he's playing much more calmly and much more flow, time management is I think a result of this.
Bro cooking Gotham faster than he can premove 😂😂😂
Hikaru be like: hey look I'm nice to Levy, that means I'm not so bad
Honestly Levy is doing so good. He's gaining elo back pretty quickly
Loved the recap!
bet Levy's lapping up all this praise, and good for him! great recap and such a privilege in the chess world these days to have top super players breaking it all down for us noobs out here
It’s uh oh spaghetti O time is always my favorite part of any recap
Levy's quick decision-making and strategic time usage played a crucial role in his victory.

Hikaru farming Levy and milking this tournament is one of the best things I've seen this week. Hikaru provides the freshest and most nutritious, high-quality, farm-raised chess breakdowns. Love to see it. lol

amazing!
"welcome back everyone" never gets old
Lets go Levy!
Yeah, I would definitely play Nc6, clearing the path for the a pawn to match down the board.
To me the outstanding fact is that just by Levy playing competitive chess again, lower rated games suddenly get recognition. I really appreciate Hikarus respectful, unbiased and diligent recaps and I wish more chess youtubers would seriously give promising IM and GM aspirants more attentioon. Chess is more than 2700+ matches (and "guess the ELO"). I honestly respect Levy for taking the huge risk of humiliation by publicly announcing that he wants to become a GM, and letting the world take part in his endeavor - no matter the outcome.
always looking foward to the intro

I love these reviews. I’m also confused as you say that he is unlikely to make GM, but reviewing every one of his classical games makes me think you are rooting for him.
@AP0PT0SIS
25 күн бұрын
It’s probably a combination of several things. 1) Hikaru said he didn’t believe levy had chances before he saw his stellar performance in Spain 2) Hikaru feels bad about this, so he’s rooting for levy 3) he knows recapping levy games is gonna be good content, and that he kind of has to root for levy if he’s going to be aping his games for content.
Now imagine all the top GMs recapping Levy's games! Hikaru made a great start for it to be possible.
