Holy shit. I'm 51 and I have a favorite new band . Fuk yeah!
We may be looking at the very beginning of a seriously successful band. I Wanna Prove to You shows incredible talent and creativity. One thing Brian said, "We want to write melodies we haven't heard before" gives me a lot of confidence in their future. It tells me they're going to better assimulate their influences and "find their own voice" as they discussed in the interview. Saw them on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and was just plain knocked out. Best new band out there right now.
Exactly how I feel about music influences, glad people are really starting to make things based off of older styles of music
when i give people a spaced out look, people say i am weird. these dudes do it and its art

Other than Bryan’s clothing there’s really nothing Wes Anderson about them in terms of their attitude or style..wes Anderson music is more Van and Paul Simon, Kinks
they're obviously bored to death but in such a cool way😂
best new band out now. they cleverly and masterfully draw from the most well seasoned influences.

eyez2sea I really enjoy how melodic they are while at the same time being instrumentally intricate, like proggy, you can tell being how young they are how far they are going go
Nice interview. I just found these guys randomly on iTunes, and was blown away! I knew there were Beatle influences going on because these guys use fantastic chordage (sp?) watching you guys get big is extremely exciting!

their live performances are great
I love them
I'm glad to hear the cite the beatles as pretty much a major influence. And I hope that people who hate on my other comments which call them out as sounding very beatle-esque realize they admit as sounding like beatles

You must be a genius, picking up on such niche influences as ~ the most influential band of all time. I’d never even heard of the Beatles until now. Well done, go well, you’re better than everybody else, just as you always knew.

@@alexcooper3651 I never really considered myself a genius, but I truly appreciate your compliment!
These are two of the most attractive men alive.
My 4yo daughter love them :)
Jason Schwartzman?
Interesting to see how differently they think of their creative process.
Check out the band, We All Together; released two amazing albums in '70 and '71.... the Peruvian Beatles/Wings
I love how Michael just doesn't care in most of the beginning
thoughtful guys
these guys are what the Coen brothers would be like if they didn't keep shit in-house. or just basically a musically Coen brothers .. there was something almost tense about this interview.

Almost? 😂 I felt like Brian was thinking “I’m gonna beat your ass when we get home.“ the whole time. But they’re young, and they’re artists (really good ones) so some interviews are bound to be a little awkward.
Wait, did Brian say his first song was based on the Monkees (Nesmith) The Kind of Girl I Could Love? I gotta hear that!
Wow, that mullet
michael was a cool lill dude on "Are We There Yet"

I think their main influence was school of rock. I wanna see them tour with cage the elephant and of Montreal
Young Bowie
They put it very straightforward from the interview. They are musicians making music. Don't ask them to explain themselves in front of the camera. Sensitive people don't work that way.

You might like a band called The Doublejumps if you like listening to Lemon Twigs
we're at a time now where bands are coming up without a trace of punk -- not that it's a good or bad thing. You gotta wait till kids will start hearing mom and dad's punk records -- if mom and dad are still alive, lol - for those bands to reemerge. It's great to see bands like this find a niche. When I was coming up, it was cool to hate all the influences they cite, even though, of course, bands were listening to it in secret. .
Are these guys related to the D'Addario guitar company?

jay wire well there were those 90s Britpop bands like Supergrass
European festivals seem to have real journalists doing these interviews vs Coachella and lollalozaa where they have models
Very manufactured appearance.
these guys are talented musicians... no doubt, but what has happened to creativity? like they seem to be going for a Bay City rollers mid 70s look... these kids were teenagers in the late 2000's, I get going for a nostalgic look, and that era of rock and roll was great..... But we need a new sound.... we need creative good art to come back...

theyre cool until you realize their family is incredibly wealth (D'addario is the largest guitar string manufacturer in the world). Nepotism makes them less cool.
