To hear Caddicarus praise so much Dawn of the Dragon, confirming that my childhood _isn't_ a lie, warms my heart so much. DotD has been my first game of the franchise (so much so that I didn't even know it was a reboot, I just thought it was "another Spyro game"), and considering how much bad I've seen talked about the reboot trilogy throughout the years, I was afraid the good memories I have of it were just due to my blissful lack of sense of quality as a child. So happy to see that isn't the case! :')

As somebody who was introduced to the Legend series by this video, and have been playing them for the very first time since then, I can concur that they are quite enjoyable, and that Dawn of the Dragon shines in multiple ways. I imagine a lot of hate simply came from Spyro fans who couldn't accept how different they were from past games. Meanwhile, I've been enjoying them because they're so different, as I never liked the older Spyro games.

ngl i didnt like the first two but i got the third one simply because its simon the door and i was pleasantly surprised that it was so. so. so damn good i was completely shocked because i didnt even finish eternal night due to how unbearable it was for me. but dawn of the dragon alone was able to make me replay the whole game because of just how fun it was, the combat was awesome, the vistas were beautiful, the exploration added with the permanent flight was so fun, and the music was a banger and im a bit sad its not talked about much. im so glad the studio did such a good job with it, they literally ended the new trilogy with a banger.

@22:48 Whoever their recording engineer was slammed the recorded vocals through a compressor aka an Automatic Gain Leveling Amplifier. While we normally like lots of compression on vocals, it has to be staged so that multiple compressors pick at multiple parts of amplitude of the waveform. Like you get a quick one to even out those S's T's P's K's and other high transient information (which these guys didn't do). You get another to even out the vocals over the long term to even out all of the words in terms of volume level. Its really a balancing act that can be hard for a lot of inexperienced engineers. Push too hard and you get this overcompressed sound we hear in game, don't push hard enough and you might not be able to hear what is being said depending on the context.

2:54 this hit way to hard because that's accurate. My black Labrador has died only a few months prior. And I got her shortly after I started watching your vids

I love how so many of the Cameos feel like Caddy had Ollie just break into everyone's home and wait for them to notice him recording

@@Dovah_Slayer The Completionist was caught hoarding the charity money he raised. Karl Jobst and Mutahar showed that, according to his tax documents, Jirard didn't donate any of the money until now. It didn't help that Jirard tried to take down Karl's channel and threatened to countersue.

It's actually great seeing season of ice and season of flame getting some attention, considering they took up about 50% of my childhood with how many times I died to enemies off screen :D Never managed to finish season of ice due to the problems you brought up, but season of flame was my favourite game of all time for a while. And yeah, the music slaps hard.

Also the Normalboots Cast cameo is Golden it brings a tear to my eye seeing the band back together

I like how nearly every cameo was probably just given the instruction "do something fkn weird for an unexpected cutaway and ill fit it in"

Season of Flame sticks out to me. Looks really meaty for a GBA game, and I loved the GBA. Dawn of the Dragon also looks really impressive. I love the night flying segment at 2:08:21, that's awesome.

Can't deny, his Spyro 1 takes were kinda bullshit. He commented on everything apart from the actual level design (which is the most important and Spyro 1 has the best, (and the best music by far)).

For one thing, he reviews games purely for fun and personal experience as opposed to genuinely analyzing what made it so good like your typical talented VG reviewer and IMO I prefer the other two OSTs than the first Spyro game even with its title theme and Wizard Peak.

A lot of Spyro 1’s music is based on 70s Jazz fusion. In fact, it’s believed that Simon is named after the Jazz fusion artist Spiro Gyra. Luckily I’m a huge fan, so maybe Caddy just isn’t into that type of music. Personally, I love how atmospheric Spyro 1’s soundtrack is. I remember the first time I played Stone Hill and I heard that booming drum roll as Spyro flies into the Level. It still gives me goosebumps to this day.

I showed my dad the pink poo bag song and he said "he's wearing a spyro jumper?? Respect" my dad is now a fan of caddicarus

The “I’ve got a million subs” song now lives rent free in my brain. Thanks Jim.

I love that most of the cameos made it look like they didn’t know they were being filmed, and then there’s Doobus just having his daily helping of sand. Also Jirard politely introducing himself, as I imagine he does for everyone he’s known for years every time he sees them.

Took him 6 years to go from 500k to the HUGE MILLION! Definitely worth the wait! Congrats on reaching 1 million subs!!!

Seeing Jirard in the opening hits a little differently nowadays.

As someone who's been on this ride since I was in high school in 2012, this is everything I'd hoped it would be. Thank you Caddy, honestly you deserve all your success. Here's to the future of this wonderful channel!

Karl Jobst/Someordinarygamers did all the initial investigation and they both have a great series of videos covering everything

That PS1 graphics Spons segment was truly a work of art. It's been such a joy to see how much Daddy Caddy has grown over the years!
