    Thank you Stefan! There are a few prototypes out there, since they worked on the SP for a couple of decades and had lab units they always added / replaced parts on them. This one had (still has) the first “switching” power supply component, which then ended up on the 90s reissue. It has SP-12 parts in there too

    Hey man great video on chopping things up. Most people if they showing you anything go through it so dang fast you can't catch on, perhaps that is their purpose so many haters out here. each one teach one so we all can bring great music to the table that simple hording information is so dumb. I am an original SP-1200 reissue owner and just purchased the latest one by rossum. I was more of a financier having a studio in the city working with at risk kids. Now that the studio is closed and my engineer and producers are gone I need to learn how to operate this gear myself so the vids are very informative and I appreciate this. Thanks in advance.

    @@ManoOne-Music-Production can you make beats just using floppy disks or do you need a turntable to use this machine

  • @ManoOne-Music-Production

    @ManoOne-Music-Production

    @@jamesmock2109 Hey James. So the turntable is just there to provide sounds by sampling it. It could be a computer with KZread (people sample a lot from KZread), or a synth, or a mixer with several instruments connected to it. Basically the SP-1200 is a pure sampler, and it has NO sounds inside it. You plug something with audio to its (mono) input, hit sample, and capture samples / clips, that you then trigger by tapping the pads, and recording what you tap as "segments" (patterns). Hope this helps! Post any questions here and I'll do my best to answer. Take care

    Around that time, but the engineers kept using it / modifying it until the end I think. It has the original prototype power supply that was later in the 90s edition. It has really old parts and strange markings all over

    @@NizukBeatmakerBoomBap oui, et c'est deja le cas. Le 950 coutait presque rien il y a 5 ans, et a augmente enormement. le 900 vaut le coup de chopper si tu peux (meme plusieurs, car ils sont abordables). L'autre truc c'est l'EMAX (premiere version, avec filtres analogiques) qui a beaucoup de similitudes avec la SP-1200. Meme epoque, et a des trucs que la SP n'a pas, comme le choix du sample rate (10, 16, etc). J'ai le rack, mais je ne maitrise pas encore. Je vais m'y mettre. Merci d'etre la!!
