When Andy entered the same room as Christos in the Palace of Darkness after nearly an hour of route diversion, I got so hype.

I never saw this before, but if you check at 1:58:05, you see both Andy and Christos give each other a nod and fistbump. I always wondered why the audience did a kind of half-hearted clap and now I see why - I think a few noticed this gesture and wanted to acknowledge the sportsmanship between the two.

To clarify, 'No Glitches' just refers to the Randomizer's seed generation logic. When this setting is selected when a seed is generated the Randomizer will not account for the glitches one can pull to get to an area earlier than expected or outside of what a normal player can do in the game. It has nothing to do with the race's ruleset itself.

Yes, it didn't "change category mid-game", the rules were always meant to be "glitchless seed, NMG players" as is usual for ALTTP Randomizer runs and races.

"No Glitches Logic" means simply no glitches are required to win. The name is good and succinct.

Was confused when they mentioned the fake flippers with that on screen...

This was one of the best GDQ races I've seen. Both runners have never played this particular seed before even though they ran the same seed, and there was no way to tell who was in the lead since they took slightly different routes and everything was randomized. Awesome watching this live.

There was no way to tell who was in the lead? Huh? What do you mean? Andy was running, that basically sealed the results from frame 0. Not an Andy fanboy I genuinely want him to lose a race ever but he seems incapable of losing.

I love how, at 1:53:53, Andy and ChristosOwen just look at each other and notice they're not playing the game, then nod at each other like "Yeah, we both got our last crystal at the same time" Amazing race, I'd love to see this again in future GDQs.

This was amazing! I still remember Andy's LTTP run where the host asked to read donations when he died. Definitely deserved to be a highlight!

This is seriously one of the most amazing speedruns I've ever seen! The commentators were incredible, and the whole speedrun itself was super entertaining!

I started watching LTTP randomizer races during SpeedGaming's latest tournament, and I'm hooked. So glad to see two of the better runners in the community doing a race for AGDQ.

Love the narration and randomness of the events you guys are putting out. Great work as always!

God I love Paty. Please commentate for every GDQ run from now until the rest of time.

Should check them out. Randomizers have been gaining popularity recently and it's kinda cool. Just note that I think the one for A Link to the Past is one of the better optimized Randomizers as the logic tries its very best to not generate an impossible seed.

Yes! I wasn't able to watch live, and this was the number one run I was looking forward to.

Amazing back and forth race that ultimately was decided by the ultimate equalizer: GT. Excellent race.

There's gotta be another one of these next time. It's just so much fun to watch!

I like how even though they're both deaf and blind to each other's games, Chris just looks over at 1:13:50 and he knows _exactly_ what bullshit Andy's getting up to over there. Freakin' cheater. I'm still loving these Andy/Patty runs.

I mean, Andy has to slide his fingernails across the A-button, which would be quite easy to notice even in your peripheral vision. So, yeah, Chris definitely noticed that.

Really enjoyed this race, and loved the commentary especially.

How good this run was: I was already half-asleep after a short time watching the run way to late in the night, but suddenly I was wide awake and not able to quit and finished the entire thing. And now even leaving a comment about that.

surprisingly it is extremly fun to watch!

As a passionate chess player I appreciate that there is a variant that's basically a randomizer. Chess960 (a.k.a. Fischer Random) is where the pieces behind the pawns are in random places at the beginning of the game (except king must always be between the two rooks [so one can castle either side like in the normal chess] and the two bishops must be in different colored squares). This forces the players to start planning and form strategies from the first move without having openings memorized (since there's 960 different possible opening positions, it's not really feasible to come up with and learn opening sequences for each of them). It's the most popular chess variant besides normal chess and even the top players of the world compete each other in serious tournament settings with this variant more and more. Chess960 could be THE future for chess, since it's pretty daunting to learn many opening deeply in normal chess in order to be successful. Learning openings is NOT fun.

*SEMI-MAJOR SPOILER ALERT* Seeing these two take completely different routes only to converge at the same place after a full hour is just magical.

Honestly had no idea who would win. Probably the best race i've ever watched. The random element of the run gives flavor to the whole thing

While I wasn't the one who donated with the comment concerning it, I would *love* to see an Open Keysanity run at a GDQ. What is Keysanity, you may ask? Well, picture this: take the idea that all of the regular items are mixed around...and then add in every single chest-laden small key, big key, compass, *and* map from every single dungeon in the game, also mixed around. With the added benefit of still not requiring forced glitches to complete the game.

Incredible race! I'm glad the randomizer was part of AGDQ this year and I hope it will also be the case later on. It's a nice way IMO to end the event when there is no Super Metroid race scheduled. And who knows, maybe one day there will be a randomizer for more games (another Zelda... or Metroid maybe?) and it could become the new run to look forward to in AGDQ each year.

i want to say this is one of the only races i've really enjoyed since the commentary was both good and the game was a bit slower paced so it was possible to watch both screens at once

I love Patty commentating Andy's races. The salt is real.

This is one of the best races in a long time. Breath of new life.

I can't help but wonder what Andy thought of all this heckling after the fact.

This race is HYPE. I think them having different seeds would have been interesting, but that would have been less competitive.

Phenomenal!!

The commentators were the icing on the cake. Their jokes and moreover professional explanations had a quality similar to major sport event commentators, I´m serious about that! One of the most entertaining runs in the whole event, thank you all!

Commentators explaining possible paths that the runners could take and all I hear is, "Just turn the crank, and snap the plank. And boot the marble right down the chute. Now watch it roll and hit the pole. And knock the ball in the rub-a-dub tub. And flip the man into the pan. "

I know it's been a while since this happened but during the run the couch was talking about the possibility of the Mad Batter having hammer and how much of a nightmare that would be. Well currently I am playing alttp+sm randomizer and the bad luck has come to pass because according to my spoiler log that is exactly what I have.

The Ice Rod is in the Tower of Hera. I think the trouble you're having is that you don't need the three Pendants to enter the Tower of Hera, you can enter with just the seven Dark World dungeon crystals.
