I think the reason why Cassandra stopped Percy from killing Ripley was because she saw her as a way of pointing the group towards the ziggurat without having to say something herself and potentially outing herself. I think the entire reason why she stuck with the group and helped them up to this point was because they were her best option of getting back to the Briarwoods safely. If she tried to break away before now there is the chance that she would have been caught by Vox Machina while trying to sneak away, not to mention she would then have to deal with the hordes of undead trying to kill HER along with every other living person in Whitestone.

It's been awesome to hear them get to flex their voice acting talent. Their games is like rehearsal and now we get to hear what they sound like when they can record several takes.

I live for the moments between Vex and Percy! 🥰

"She did kinda save you from that..." She also designed the trap, then ley Percy trigger it instead of warning him beforehand, just so she could "save" him in an attempt to ingratiate herself with him. This is just one more proof of how manipulative she is, and it did work on you.

In the campaign, the acid trap was the closest to a TPK the party had reached at that point. IIRC, they were even on a timer. It was an adrenaline rush for sure!

Honestly, the scene where Percy got tortured...I felt sympathy pain. It was very realistic

The series is amazing, I like all the characters, but Grog is the best, his scene with the acid is spectacular!

Cassandra kept Ripley alive so that she would guide the group to the acid trap.

If you want to hear the official soundtrack, look for the KZread channel named "Sam Riegal - Topic". You'll find the entire songs and albums there. There's even some unused ones, like a version of "You got Scanlan'd" with music in the background, not just him singing.

Ok. So, yeah Ana Ripley, up to this point, has the exact same character build as Percy, (minus her missing hand.) To the point that Matt asked to copy the character sheet. (An old DM'ing shortcut for creating evil "clones" and "True Rivals."

Ripley was actually a Wizard/Fighter if I remember correctly, while Percy is a full Fighter.

as a critter and a metal head, i loved the song for the time trial acid trap! Matt likes to slap down an hour glass for situations that need quick reaction and Scanlan really embodied the vibe of that moment

Scanlan is definitely my favorite character mainly due to all the musical bits (And there are a lot of musical bits) Sam did on the tabletop show. And im so glad theres a lot of it in here too. Keyleth is the runner up because I have a thing for redheads.

Scanlan is just a bit too annoying for my taste. That kind of humor is just not really my thing. (But he´s a great character, and I love bards... go figure.) Keylith number 1, mostly for the same reason. ;)

I barely finished watching before you posted and I was waiting for you to spot the guitar scene!! That was so bad@ss!!! I just assumed that Percy wrote the names on the gun himself... when I saw Cassandra's name appear on it, it was due to the shadow/smoke!!

Originally, he had! After shooting Stonewall, he tucked into a corner to scratch the name out. It disappeared after he'd gouged it a few times, which was the first sign in the original play that there was anything magical about it. Cass was the first name to write itself in.

@@Thurrak true but I think they've already been working on it while season 1 was finishing because they knew they'd been greenlit for it from the go. If I was them, once production got started I'd treat it like a 24 episode season rather than do 12, stop and then do another 12.

@@ventusbruma1039 Yea they definitely would have started working on s2 as soon as possible but they probably started with the writing since animation on s1 probably went right up until deadline. So they probably still have a ways to go with animation and vfx/compositing.

So, the show ends on episode 40 of the Critical Role campaign 1. There will be a little extra I think, however, I think it would be easy for you to stop where episode 12 of Vox Machina ends. I hope this helps! 💙💙💙 Feeling the withdrawal yet? I am 😭 Also, there is already a soundtrack up that you can buy!!! 😃

@@Omn1Media she mentioned making the trap herself. So it could be that she didn't know exactly where they placed the trap that she created in the tunnel.... But she knew that it was there somewhere.

In the game, Cassandra was a lot more hesitant to cut ties with Percy, and her submission was implied to be Stockholm syndrome. Here, I think they used it in combination with charm to make her betrayal hurt more, and it worked so well.

Idk how much you watched into context with q&as and whatnot, but taliesin(Percy's player) left the story of the gun vague for Matt. It could've just ended up with Percy just having DID

Is it possible that as Cassandra got closer to the Briarwoods, their compulsion over her got ... larger? to the point where she couldn't overcome it on her own?

In the campaign, it was actually the opposite when they first invaded Whitestone their charm on her was pretty much constant but over the 5 years due to emotional abuse and physical abuse they were able to not charm her as often and eventually got to a point where they didn't have to charm her at all. Only once Percy was rumoured to be back in Whitestone did they re-up the vampire charm on her so that things ran smoothly. So they really only charmed her as a reassurance that things would solidly work out the way that they wanted it to.
