THE LAST MOHICAN
Thank you to people like Danny Minnick for the clips from Skate Nation and Collage. Dan Wolfe (I know he filmed most of the classic 95 Europe footage), all the guys at 411 (Josh Friedberg and Steve Douglas) and thrasher high speed productions.
Thank you to Lucille Vallez of France for the opening clip of Corsica that you shot, it's very beautiful, and thank you to the British artist Nyilah for your lovely song 'on the other side of the sky', originally dedicated to Tupac Shakur.

Dude is like the Biggie/Bobby Fischer of skateboarding. I heard a story of him in the 90s doing a demo in a warehouse on a mini ramp when the power went out and you couldn't see shit, but everyone could still hear his trucks on the coping, popping and rolling around, and when the power came on, he was mid frontside flip. Legend has it skating with his beanie so low it covered his eyes he got aclimated to skating with limited to no vision.

+Carlo Von Sexron The analogies make sense, I'd go with classical like Vivaldi or Tchaikovsky, cause it's just ultimate skating that will stand the test of time. Balanced, not too little or too much of anything (maybe one too many frondside flips, but come on, his frontside flips are all worth a replay or 10), always perfectly natural, that's a Penny video part.

This man is the epitome of style. Not only his skating and dress, but his attitude. The reason he was so cool is because he never tried to be cool, he just was and everyone recognized it. He truly is a once in a lifetime individual. God put this man on earth to show people what skateboarding is in its purest form. He is an artist, an anomaly, and a poet on wheels. He was the bridge between old school and new school, vert and street, the undisputed 🐐 of skating. Bravo Tom! 👏

Tom Penny put the soul into skateboarding, he skated for the love and passion. That's why it came so effortless. Most skaters nowadays skate for the fame and money, Tom Penny on the other hand left America to escape that. Skaters nowadays don't care how a trick looks as long as they get it and they can brag about it.

I was lucky enough to live near Radlands when it first opened in 1992 and Penny and the, then, Deathbox team (Rowley, Glifberg) were down there quite a bit. Watching Penny skate was stay with me forever, he was something else, standing out even when amongst a group of America pros in the few international comps they had there.

The way that you hold me Whenever you hold me There's some kind of magic inside you That keeps me from running But just keep it coming How'd you learn to do the things you do? And nobody does it better Makes me feel sad for the rest Nobody does it half as good as you Baby, baby, darlin', you're the best Baby, you're the best Darlin', you're the best Baby, you're the best Baby, you're the best Baby, you're the best Baby, you're the best

beautiful scenes in order, tom penny made all tricks look so easy.. he blew everybody's mind out in 90's so he is truly the legendary.. if you want to be legendary, go kill 11 tricks down san diego bank in 5 minutes, if you land a kickflip then you have to do switch kickflip on your next attempt, you have to do switch on every trick you land on tricks like tom penny did in this.. so he is the best legendary skater ever even he's ranked over natas kaupas and mark gonzales and the mini-ramp master

Haslam is fucking amazing and one of my favorite modern skaters, but it's all about the style and ease of how Penny skated back then. They're two completely different styles of skating. Just look at Tom's 5/0 to front truck tap on the mini ramp, it's just effortless natural talent that no skater since has had. You can't practice that..

its called 'on the other side of the sky' by caprice sheridan or something like that. she changed her name though and has a different 'stage' name now. it was from the credits section of the 2pac 4eva DVD, a documentary about tupac and this song i believe was made for it, so the lyrics might make the most sense with that interpretation.
