    So happy for Doc and Darryl. Not just for the recognition of having their numbers retired, but how they have both persevered and found some measure of peace and grace in their lives. ‘84 thru ‘86 were halcyon days as a Met fan and would not have been possible without Doc and Straw. Love them both.

    Gooden and Strawberry would both be in the HOF had they not thrown it all away. Doc could have won 300 games and Straw could have hit 500 dingers.

    1962 vintage Met fan. There was NOTHING in the regular season Met history that compares w Friday nite Dwight at Shea.

    Doc and strawberry got a 2nd life with the Yankees it was great to see them come back and turn it around with them.
