Speaking from experience spearing the grounds for salt rock, this right here is why recreational fisherman can keep one but their gas cost the same and makes the hobby of fishing more a balance of losses then an opportunity to feed your family. Commercial fishing for tourist restaurants is absolutely appalling.

That was a great dive and shoot. I have seen that many gags on a ledge but the larger ones always seem to drift to the sand and white out after a few of their brothers are shot. Like always great shot placement. Thank you for the awesome videos. Please keep it up.

I think what's more impressive than the stringer is the breaths per minute. 5-7 the majority of the video. When you're working that hard, that's a feat in itself.

Dan has a local machine shop make the casings he uses , and he loads the rest himself . He uses a rifle cartridge ( 7.62x54R ) so it will still put out enough power to work at deeper dives .

Hey Dan, you may or may not remember, a while back I asked what dive light you use. You were kind enough to respond and point me towards “on off style Chinese” light you use. The one comment that I remember you adding about the light is that I would need to purchase a higher quality battery “Panasonic”. Well after months of using the light it is great however you are most definitely correct that it needs an different battery. If you don’t mind, where can you find these said batteries they seem to be a pain in the ass to find any that are higher quality?

Do you go out fishing over 100 miles off-shore to find these ledges ? His team of divers do , and a lot of their fishing is down below 150 feet .

I suppose it depends on the size of the spot , and also on how many fish seem to be hanging out there . Dan has said before in one of his videos that seldom is the same spot visited again before a year or two is passed . Let the others around grow up , and new fish can find the spot is available to hang out in .

Dan uses a spear gun he created following old Sea Hornet design with tighter tolerances and improvements . Dan uses a 7.5mm shaft .
