Milan is doable, not telling you to get the Milan tho cause its useless outside simulator Milan is actually decent if not good in simulator mainly due to the fact that most people are dumbasses Su-25 and A-10 that rely on their all-aspect 30g missile to kill, but they need to see in order to shoot, and in SB, they simply dont see you coming 80% of the time. Even if you do get spotted, you still have high probability to out-dogfight many planes at its BR. Oh and the Milan airframe + SNECMA Atar9K engine makes it one of the fastest plane at the BR

The F-1C is a good plane if you have more than 3 functioning brain cells. You will get a couple really really good turns out of it that should put you in a good position, but if you miss that opportunity, you're in trouble. Be smart and choose your battles.

It's really sad to see that Gaijin never manages to give a good premium jet to France. Whether it's the Mirage 3 or F1 family, there are much more modern variants that would be more powerful than the horrible stuff they give us each time.

They never give one to Britain either. British prem phantom has much worse missiles, no slats, no HMD and yet sits at the same BR as the Yankee premium phantom at the same BR that has all that stuff.

I'd argue that part of the problem with French jets is actually them having TOO good of a missile sometimes, best example I can think off being the Mirage IIIC, 9.3/9.7 plattform at 10.3 because Magic-1's (which by the way, are 1976 missile on a 1962 plane), I 'd argue the Magic-2's also push the Mirage F1's too high too

Yes the milan not having flares sucks… but before the event tornado came out you always were the first to bomb bases, climbed and then dove on 1-2 enemies. Really enjoyed playing it and grinded through all of france air techtree with it.

This Mirage feels like the de-facto underdog plane at top tier. Definitely far off the meta but one that can absolutely perform once mastered. Speaking of which I'd love to see a video on the Milan. With all my time spent at 9.7 I've ONLY seen people base bomb with it and never dogfight. I feel like it could be a surprisingly good fighter despite not having flares. Similar to the MiG-21S

problem with the milan is it is a mirage with a worse engine(at least it feels like it to me) and horrendous missiles so once you do 1 maybe 2 turns you are completely out of energy

@@torvamessor3059 I enjoy the Milan in grb with rockets pods and 2 bomb and i get aces easily. Its really fast for 9.7 as it has the same motor of the Mirage F1C, its the Mirage III plane with the best motor. In air rb it sucks a bit, you can get good dogfight thanks to the delta wing and the good motor but the shit missile and the no flares make it way harder when facing 10.7.

I have been playing the Mirage for quite a bit now, until I make it to the M2000 and it's pretty nice not gonna lie, you out power F5Cs easily, outturn phantoms even the F4S but you gonna be very smart about it, they will get the first turn on you so you have to jinx them. F14 I have reversed more of them because of their skill issues but one that cuts throttle or has a working brain will beat you, Mig29 and F16 just try to kill them with your magics if they overshoot, 90% of the cases they will just roll you over and take your ass to the hangar.

I play the Milan a lot, and I’ve noticed that altitude advantage is super important when playing it so that you can do a fast bomb run, then you abuse the Milan’s speed by diving and chasing targets who aren’t paying attention. Also since it’s energy retention is so bad I’ll use the air brake and force whoever is chasing me to overshoot and it’s usually an easy kill

Didn't even mention the 250 some countermeasures... that's your lifeline when you're at 12.0

I have PTSD from spading the tech tree F-1C right after the F-14A was added. Now it has a better FM and is at least useable. It was unspeakably bad.

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised by how OK it felt to fly

Yak 3 is your best options to grind with a good sanity without spending 70eur, fast research the Jaguar and it's done. (Ps ; you can dogfight F-5's with and it's very fun to get them with 12G's, oh you got Magic's too.) 👀

there's a small issue with that though, it can sadly only grind until Tier IV before the RP gain reduction kicks in

I'm only used to American jets, so seeing any amount of countermeasures beyond 60 makes me jealous. With flares and chaff the you only get 15 charges.

Phantom has 90. Besides, you only need one flare to spoof any heater, they are a joke now. 60 is all you really need.

A lot of people sleep on the French Jaguar. I talismanned that plane was able to grind a significant amount of the French tree without much issue. Of course getting over the initial ranks will be an issue, and I did this before the F1C-200 was added and had to use the Vautour at the time. But once I was able to unlock and talisman the Jaguar it was smooth sailing.

Im not sure if the snail is purposely making my magic 2s flare thirsty, but every magic 2 is typically a one flare in my experience with my f1c.

Try to launch them at distracted enemies! If you drop you'r throttle you can 1 flare pretty much any ir guided missile! And try to launch them when you're going fast and also try to lead them, missiles are not 100% guaranteed kills so don't expect them to be! i hope this helps

@@Feuervix I know that, but some times (90% of the time) my team is getting wrecked and I try to play more for fun rather than grind these days so staying away and picking out targets wisely is not always an option. Ive had afterburning tomcats one flare my magic 2s. Ive had just about every enemy with afterburners on one flare them. Ive had an occasional hit while ignoring flares, but its usually they flare WAY to late, or I launched from almost right behind them.

@@hotrodgreg504 i know you'r pain to extreme levels since i grinded the mig-21bis mig-23m mig-23mld su-17m2 and su-17m4 using the mig21smt and it's main missile is the r60 and i am using it to grind the mig-29 too bc 11.3 is too chaotic and the mig-23mld radar is weird, people accidentally flare my missiles allies flare my missiles the pain is indeed real but we must stay strong

Not anymore lol. With the recent missile buff the Majics are basically unflareable now. Play it while you can they’re guaranteed 2 kills every match

@@poliznia they are MUCH better, but I have had a lot of people easily flare them even in rear aspect with the after burner on. And the missile bug doesnt help.

I got it 3 days ago and it's been very enjoyable, using it as base bomber and with the magics 2 having at least one kill garanted. Lack of rwr is not really a trouble as long you fly low, and having 200 flares is pretty awesome, especially when you can outrun 70% of the planes you face.

i grinded alot of tier 7-8 France with the mirage 3e really enjoyed playing it even have a 3+ kd in it.

First I try and get a 530 kill on plane without chaff or isn't paying attention, Magic 1's are great as well. Airframe doesn't like to build speed after dumping speed in a turn so play smart Stay fast unless your sure you won't get 3rd partied

The R-27T never felt that flare resistant to me the R-24T even felt more flare resistant might just be me though good vid as always though(I have used the 27T again, it’s good but like the old 9L basically only in rear aspect)

Bro i remember opening a reddit bug report about the 9L being so busted in their flare resistance and people were like, but you carrying flares? Society, society called me crazy

fun fact: the 530 going for chaff is not realistic. there are documents released by the RAAF stating that the R530 (and older generation i know) will not be flared by chaff, which would stand to reason that the later generation that is meant to be better, would also be resistant to chaff

"The missile does not know where tf it is" - a pulse missile when you chaff

I got the plane for a few days now, after it got ripped reviews by almost everyone. But I must say I kinda think it's ok so far. But I hate the on deck fur ball gameplay with all the BR 12 planes in between. After trying around with the missiles, even trying to drop the super F, I use them again now. I keep flying in a medium alt away from the main dogfight, notch all the F14 stuff and engage the side climbers that lose interest in me and diving in the fur ball. The plane is solid, but I really think the Radar itself and the pulse seekers really hamper it's performance. But my most fun game was shooting down 3 F14, one with the F in a dive, one with the magic 2 when it was dogfighting and one with guns after it got energy trapped by two other planes. It's Vulturing... But I really like the fact all moments perfectly aligned in one go xD It boggles my mind you really have the balls to go into low alt Turnfights, I always get butchered by 9Ls

530E and Magic 2s are so based!

Ayyyy the F1C video is here! But whenever i used the R530E even tho I only carried 1 along side with the 2 radar variants I rarely got a good use out of them, tho it has a been some time since I spaded it a last played it now I’m currently using the Mirage-5F just for the time being to spade it out and get RP for the Mirage-2000 and considering I don’t have the premium F1C, but I’ve slowed down massively atm because of the 5F.

milan brings more xp than f1c for same kills and stuff, so its qicker to gring back xp home for the grind, just you need some strategies to stay alive

Uf, most painfull for me was the Milan.I got to MirageIII,no chaff/flares. Only good for bomb bases and get away quickly.

You slow yourself too much with bombs in the Milan, if you are not to bad with DEFA just take 2 aim9, its fast for 9.7 and you can definitely do things. You can try to take the small rockets pods for makeshifts flares and dump the pods so you dont slow your airframe

Milan is better in sim than in RB Your chances of getting killed by a 30g all-aspect missile decreases drastically since the Su-25s and A-10s are too occupied on reaching your base and dropping bomb The Milan is also quite fast compared to Mirage 3 since its a modified delta Mirage airframe + SNECMA Atar9K(Mirage F1 engine)

Plus points for using classical music 👍

So magics are just flare resistant SRAAMs?

I can't get the drench radar to lock onto targets. We Aussies have 300+ ping and that seems to cause issues with tracking things and effects so.e things more then others

If only Milan had flairs, and its radar, and the magic 1 !!!! Also, I already bought the Milan !!! At least it can Supersonic Bomb one base exactly !!! I even get less money then I get from Harrier Gr1 for one base 17.5k with Milan and 20k with Harrier Gr1 !!!!

Try the hunting with the Milan in Simulator, your chances of getting 30g all-aspect missile getting lobbed at you drastically decrease mainly because A-10 and Su-25 are too blind and stupid to see you AIM-9B is enough to take care of unaware enemies and the DEFAs makes short work of anything it hits (don't know why people say its hard to aim, I dont see any problem with it) The Milan is also one of the fastest at its BR since its a Delta Mirage airframe + Mirage F1 engine, the Delta wing design also gives and edge in terms of manueverbility and you are gonna come out victorius in a dogfight against most enemy at that BR

quick comment, idk if you've gotten to top tier france yet so maybe it's why you didn't mention it, or because it's gonna be on your team, but the mirage2000 is still in atleast half of the situations the best dogfighter in the game, like outside of rate fighting, it easily shits on the F16 or mig29, which are better suited for the affor mentionned fighting style. but otherwise very accurate vid I'd run the F1C the same way and fly it the same

The Magic 2 is beyond underperforming, no IRCCM ( there is a reason for it never being exported ), no range, no proximity fuse until it travels like 1 km. It should be the best dogfight IR in the game. The R-27T is the other underperforming pile of trash in the game right now.

I had an Aim-7M go for chaff while the guy was still locked by radar. NEVER ever in my entire playtime have I ever seen that happen other than once with the F-4S and Aim-7F. Ridiculous. Sparrows can still hit with chaff locked instead of the enemy but the enemy can be locked and a "modern" missile can go for chaff instead.. Just ridiculous.

That's the way SARH missiles work man. The radar can't talk to the missile after it goes off the rail, the missile decides what to track based on what it sees in the radar reflection (which includes an entire area of the sky around what the plane has locked) so yes, the missile can go for a different target than what is locked by the radar. This includes other planes and chaff, depending on aspect, how fast the planes are going, their RCS size, etc.

I'm highly recommend learn how to play sim and use it there. It's actually pretty good in sim and grinds a lot. Plus killing people with aams is much easier here

Paying 70$ for a plane in War Thunder is just absolute pain😂

The difference here is that you aren't paying for a single vehicle like DCS, you're paying for a quick grind through the tree. I would still wait for sales though...
