The amount of people who honestly disliked the sequels but love this is great. It shows that even if you didn’t like how the story was shown by Disney you can still find some way to appreciate the story when it comes full circle.

It's funny, since the start he just traded one master for another. He was always a slave, from that one flying dude, to the Jedi order, to the Sith, he always had a master. Luke broke Anikin's cycle, but in the sequels Luke he became a slave to his own guilt. Ben was a slave to his legacy, what he was expected to be, and later the Sith, but in the end he broke free and ended the cycle by giving his life.

If this hasn't already been seen by Favreau and Filoni then we need to smuggle it to them in an R2 unit.

I never saw the parallel of Rey stabbing Ben and Luke igniting his lightsaber over Ben as them both failing him in a moment of instinct. That really made it hurt even more. The whole part you edited with Ben seeing his father again and his redemption was SO well done. It was absolutely perfect and it made me like Ben Solo even more than I already do. Fantastic tribute that was well worth the wait!

someday i said to myself: "my tears have reached limit". my dad left my family. my younger brother commited suicide. i got diabetics and many more... i was thinking about suicide many times and nothing could make me cry but now... omg... i havent cried for years and this... i cried fcking serious for 15-20 minutes. this is ...i dont speak english that good (edit: im Polish) but... this fcking video made... how can i tell you... my soul is new one. this opened my hearth. after many years i see i can still show my emotions. im still a human. this is EPIC!!

Cried for the whole 27 minutes, am still crying, but honestly I'm not mad about it. I just have to say this is THE best star wars edit I have ever seen,it captured the essence of the skywalker saga so perfectly. Wow, just wow.

The moment Ben threw the light saber of kylo ren into the water I felt that. The build up to that moment and his pain, his suffering, all the expectations, all the things he had to learn by himself, all the love he never had, I love that beautiful editing

Yo when Ben was reunited with his family and broke down when he saw Leia... that got me. And then you put in Anakin reuniting with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan and having Obi-Wan admitting he was wrong... Haven't had a good cry in a long time. The Force is truly with you, my friend. Such a great and fantastic job.

@@dariusrat6468 It’s not the actors faults! It’s what the story did to the OT characters, disregarding the prequel characters, destroying the lore of Star Wars, and underutilized it’s own characters. The rise of Skywalker is a disgrace to Return of the Jedi and the prequels. Palpatine returning invalidates Anakins redemption and the entire trilogy’s that came before. Characters fought and died trying to stop Palpatine and the empire only got Disney to be lazy and bring him back and have him be beaten by Rey. TRASH.

HOLY SHIT THIS IS AMAZING. I can't imagine the hours... scrap that DAYS of hard work that went into this. the edits are insane. You hold the true emotional value of Star Wars and this represents all the potential the sequels could of had. The way you linked everything was genius. This was a work of art in itself. Rian Johnson needs to see this and step aside. You truly understand Star Wars my friend. George Lucas would be proud🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

The amount of emotion Adam Driver portrays is phenomenal; The angst, the frustration, the sadness of Kylo Ren really shines through him. I don’t like many things about the sequels, but Kylo Ren was the redeeming piece of it all. Thank you for making such a fantastic edit, truly do appreciate everything you do, HFP. ❤️

The Red Skull’s “sacrifice” line blended in so well that I almost forgot it was a line from the Avengers. However, the fact that you managed to blend in that and Marriage Story speaks volumes of how experienced you’ve become as an editor. This was my favorite piece of work you’ve done. I can’t wait to see what you do with Ahsoka’s story in the future.

I appreciate it man. The Marriage story bit seems to be hit and miss with everyone, but I’m glad you enjoyed it. I could’ve changed the color of his sweater to blend it in with the scene a bit more, but at the time I was worrying about other potential issues while the video exported. Since none of them popped up i uploaded the video as is, but didnt realize how many people shared the same thought on those clips. I honestly cried watching this! Such a better representation of the story than the sequels delivered, Adam Driver was amazing I wish they based the story on him.

Firm handshakes to you and anyone else who helped put this together. Star wars was never about the story or the end, it was about the journey.

@@swe3t.dr3ams yes for sure! He is the main character Star Wars was always intended to be around. Anakin's rise, fall, and his redemption with the help of his son. Then, the sequels were about the grandchildren. I'd say the 2 main overall themes to Star Wars as a whole is family and redemption.

No matter how good or bad any of the movies were, this is some damn good editing & it hits on just about everything. Well done!

I’m sat here crying my eyes out. Damn, you’ve completely changed how i saw the sequels. They were always about Ben’s redemption. This was amazing. I love Star Wars.

Bro in combination with the scene from rots where Obi wan defeated Anakin on mustafar and felt the same way luke felt when he tried to kill the boy his own sister entrusted him though. That was by far the best scene you did there i balled my eyes out on that one

@Brody Smith I agree! I hated that the “sky walker” saga ended with a non sky walker as the “hero”. I mean if they really needed the lead hero to be a female for pc reasons or whatever, they should’ve made Kylo’s character a female and centered the story around her. Still could’ve been Han and Leia’s kid, still could’ve turned to the dark side (kinda would’ve been cool to see a live action female sith) and had the redemption at the end and saved the galaxy and blah blah blah. I never understood why they had Rey as the main focal

"This is for the 501st" plastered the biggest smile on my face for the rest of the video. Holy hell.

I have been so angry at Disney for how they treated Star Wars, one of the most treasured stories of my childhood. However you and Ben Solo redeemed it. Thank you.

This is, the greatest tribute I have ever seen, Kylo Ren/Ben Solo is my favorite Star Wars character of all time, and this hit me right in the heart, it was beautiful, and it tied them all together perfectly, I truly hope we can see Ben Solo once again, in a flashback, or even in the future of the story somehow, but for now, we have this... and I could not be more grateful.

Noone realizes how much chewy lost in his life. His 3 closest friends all in a relatively short amount of time. And his cry is one of the few things that get me in the latest trilogy.

During these times of COVID there has been a darkness rising up inside of me. I am completely alone, I lost my job, and I am losing hope. Watching this cracked me open inside and all the pain poured out of me thru my eyes. It spoke to me in a deep way that knows my truth. Thank you. I will treasure it always.

The Force is strong with me. The Peace is strong with me.

Ben Solo: Grandson of Anakin Skywalker. Son of Han Solo and Leia Organa. Nephew to Luke Skywalker. The Last Skywalker. Rest In Peace. May the force be with him. Other than this being a great tribute to Ben but this also a great tribute to Star Wars as a whole. Great job.

Everyone hated Anakin and Kylo, but they got the shaft through must of their lives. Constant manipulation from all sides. That's gotta be a tough thing to have to live with.

Kylo carried 7-9. He & he alone had the most character development. It’s a shame he went out, rather have had Rey. When Leia passed it hit both in the movie & real life. Knowing she’s gone for good both in the movies & real life, it’ll forever be a crunch in the heart.

Ben was the only character worth watching these movies for, and looking at the character separate from the movies he's in is the best way to think about those movies imo.

“Goodbye my Friend” gave me the last tear.

I'm starting to question, if there is any other editor this good in the world. It isn't easy to create such a masterpiece but you came through. Amazing job as always, you've deserved the break. Well done! ♡ 10/10

The Last Jedi was perfect. Luke, Ben... and then you have Rey in there. But, technically, Luke was the last and his last he trained was Ben.

favourite part is definitely 18:28 to 19:30 I love how The Father says "release them" and The Chosen One, Anakin saying "You will let them go" And the start is really cool.

I love this Jon. You summed up why I love Ben Solo and why TROS didn’t live up to what I wanted. They didn’t give us hope and failed at HEA!

9 movies, a mere chapter in stars wars, and I hope many more chapters open to give others the same joy all of us see in these fantasies. Thank you all for being part of a community we can all love and enjoy.

OOOH how it would've been EPIC to have seen Ben, Rey, Asoka, Luke, Leia and Obi Won teaming up in a battle against Palp and a few of his homies!!!

damn you man...damn you. :((( I'm a wreck. Even though the sequels left a bitter taste. When you put it all in a package and you put it in front of a Star Wars fan, there will be tears. Seriously I want to thank you. I needed this cry. I miss loving Star Wars as much as I do if that makes sense. Liked and shared. Always.

Those last 3-4 minutes, man, powerful stuff. I sure do love Star Wars. All these new shows, and future films, I’m so thankful I get to experience them with my one year old son. I truly hope he loves Star Wars like me.

Palpatine saying "Good, Anakin, good!" When Ben kills Han really got me. Almost like he got lost in the pleasure of turning someone to the dark side again and had a Freudian slip.
