@@dog6376 what I feel is in most of the bollywood movies, concept is same, lack of script, can't bind audience for more longer than 5 minutes!! Mein har movie ko condemned nahi karta, but you judge yourself. Aaj jitni bhi movies bann rahin hain, are te stories line any worth??? New trend is in too...like 3-4 Stories in one movie!! Yeh bhi okay hai, but not very much. Just my views, no hate for anyone!! 🙂. Cheers

My grandfather watched this movie and at this scene when I was young I was confused why Milkha refused to go to Pakistan for race and then my grandfather told me that he understands completely what this character has been going through, being a post partition immigrant can a be a traumatic experience and my grandfather being one was aware of his trauma, that place from where you ran away after witnessing bloodshed of your known ones would always be a depressing place for you no matter how long ago it happened. One of the most emotional scenes to be shot in recent times...how beautifully the director Rakesh Omprakash Mehra and Farhan portrayed the atrocities and the victory of good over evil in our mind with personification via the movie...Marvelous...!

Heart wrenching scene. The home where his parents & family were massacred. Did anyone notice the scene where his friend Sampreet (Sikh) had his hair & beard cut, and his turban is not there. His sons are wearing Muslim skull caps. His son's name is Gurbaksh (Sikh), but without turban. The Director wanted to show that they survived because of this.
