I found one person on Twitter came up with it a bit later too. i read this story decades ago along with about half of Asimovs books and thought i should refresh and hear it on YT. I forgot tabout the entropy emphasis. I was thinking AI. Still not sure when the zeroth law came up. I'm missing a lot of his books over time. Good summary and thoughts, Cheers!

Hello, Asimov's treatment of entropy in The Last Question is just wonderfully unsettling. Repetition of the same question and the same answer convey the sense of persistence quite disturbingly. Asimov's short story together with Alfred Bester's The Stars My Destination are two of the best treatments of entropy in fiction that I've read. I would look into The Gods Themselves for Asimov's exploration of the Zeroth Law.

One of the most thought provoking stories I've read, great job!
