Your comment is right, after I beat this game I never played it again. You finally get awesome weapons on like the the last part of the game, and then you never see them again. This game offers next to 0 replay ability. I bought my copy for less than $10, and there is a reason for it.

For whatever reason, I hadn't played this on my PS3. Out of boredom and curiosity, I bought the remastered version for the PS4 two days ago. Today I called out sick from work to finish it off. I've been playing nonstop for two days, and rolled the credits two hours ago. I am still trying to mentally digest what I've just experienced. You know you've just played an incredible game when the credits roll and you feel like you've lost a good friend. I applaud you, Naughty Dog. That experience was a true adventure. Thank you.

Same here... finished it a couple of weeks ago for the first time. After the playthrough i sat at work and did nothing but thinking about this wonderfull journey. I just couldnt focus... This game gets in your head, in your memories and emotions. My colleague even noticed it and said i am much more balanced than usual. It makes you happy, i dont now why but it does.

cooperrod909 But Dark Souls has terrible AI. The story is somewhat forced, because the games barely focuses on gameplay and level design, but mostly on storytelling. And I don't mind repetitiveness that much, I had a great time playing Bloodborne, which is also pretty repetitive but gives the player new tactics and new difficulties as you progress. This barely happens in TLOU, the game just puts the player into an area where he has to kill enemies with or without stealth, nothing else. I never said I hated the game, but I think it's the most overrated game I have ever played.

I'm getting sick of some Xbox fans who desperately try to pull this game down and call it overrated and overhyped, as if because it's become popular it magically becomes worse than it was. Don't take me as the sort of person who only sides with one console, I've been enjoying the best from both worlds (being Xbox and PlayStation) since they both premiered. Xbox fans have had the honor of triple A exclusive titles at their leisure for a long time, and statistically it's easy to say that their exclusive games were at the top of the charts for that time period. What I don't understand is that while not all, but most loyal PlayStation fans were perfectly okay with them having the "best" console games, as soon as Naughty Dog release a game for PlayStation that rivals even Xbox's best selling games, be it Halo, Gears of War (etc.), the select few Xbox fans just can't stop moaning about it. I understand that it's a wide community on both platforms, and immature fanboyism doesn't account for the entire communities, but for Christs sake, let PlayStation enjoy its moment in the spotlight for having the best exclusive title. I think the vast number of 10/10's received from professional critiques are completely justified. tl;dr, stop moaning about PlayStation having a platinum selling triple A title when you've had that honor for a far longer time. Rant over.

It really bothers me that people like you believe that people who call this game overrated, are automatically xbox fanboys. I have never owned an xbox and I have played TLOU, and it's the most overrated game I have ever played. Don't get me wrong, I loved it, but I swear I don't see what the fuss is all about. Overall I think PS3 has the better exclusives, but you people need to stop treating it like masterpieces or closest thing to a perfect game, because they aren't.

I even dismissed that both communities have similar problems, that don't account for them as a whole, but are there nonetheless. It's just my honest opinion that The Last of Us is a perfect game. I dont think that matters. There are some brilliant games out there but so far for me, this one is bar far my favorite.

This game is the best game I have ever played. If you don't agree fair enough, it is MY favourite game. If you love a cinematic and game which fully immerses you into its world. Makes you care and love characters and keeps you on edge, while also being fun and challenging at different times. Check it out. Seriously.

You know a game was something special when you still watch videos about it 3 years later. No game has ever gotten such an emotional response from me. By far my favorite experience in any medium. Uncharted 4 was great Naughty Dog but get me back into this world again as soon as possible!

I would honestly give that to either Uncharted 4 or BloodBorne. The Last of Us is excellent, and holds up very well in the PS4 library, but it still has the PS3 standard on it. Uncharted 4 is just amazing.

DialgaMarine3 uncharted 4 tries too hard to be like the last of us and forgets what made the series so great at times. The online is also low key trash until they add the co op

I am one of the those 360 to PS4 gamers, I've never played this game. Can't wait to give it a try come July, when the Last of Us remastered comes out.

A fine game undeniably especially the emotional story and beautiful graphics but the gameplay can get occasionally stale. Sneak, Crouch, kill clicker, climb latter, sprinkle gunfight here and there. TLOU in a nutshell. It didnt let me down because 8/10 isint a bad score for me (MAYBE 8.5) but I'm not on my hands and knees worshipping it the way sony fanboys are.

I do agree that the gameplay got repetitive and that ally AI was kinda bad at times, but that was occasional and easily forgivable, especially with a story like TLOU. For me it's a 9/10, 10/10 if it was a film. But it's a game, and should be treated as such.

If you didn't realize, you can't compare an apple and an orange fairly without being somewhat biased. GTA V is a totally different genre of gaming in terms of factions, character development,combat, and story direction, technically everything except the fact that it's open world. Because the ideas are different, it is next to impossible to compare these two games, regardless of anything you say.

Definitely still holds up, just played it for the first time on ps4, It is a timeless masterpiece.

The reason why some people don't like the game is because they don't find it fun. The thing about survival games like DayZ or The Last Of Us is that they are not meant to be fun. They are meant to be challenging and immersive. And games don't have to be FUN they are a form of media and as a form of media developers should be able to choose what that media is and design it the way they like.

i'm playing the last of us and uncharted one for a second time but the cutscenes and the audio started to glitch, both disks are clean and okay and i tried to change the settings of the ps3 to different configurations but nothing change, i wanted to know if this is a problem of the disks or from the ps3 and how could i fix it

Hmm. .. I see many of the complaints in the comments section to be without ground. The accusation that the game is repetitive is quite dimwitted considering you are constantly moving towards a different objective with different tasks to perform. Not to mention that while moving towards these objectives you can approach enemy's in a numerous amount of ways. The only way I could see this game being called "repetitive" is if you consider a games combat mechanics being the same throughout the game as "repetitive". If that were true then literally every video game could be classified as repetitive. What truly keeps a game from being repetitive is the players investment in the story, and if it did not invest or interest you - - fine. But looking at the game analytically, it has disturbingly well fleshed out characters and attention to dialogue and character development. Not to mention it has so many layers and themes that cover human ethics, and survival. I would be lying if I said there were not moments in the game that made me teary eyed because of how depressing and we'll executed they were. And even though the combat is nothing crazy new, the ferocity of the characters animations in combat, and the different ways to approach things kept it fresh for me. People with older ps3's seemed to have gotten some bad A.I glitch in, which never occurred with me, the A'S were very intelligent and hunted me down and flanked me constantly. To say this game is not your cup of tea is fine, but to say it deserves anything lower then a 9/10 is preposterous.

pinwik777 I am saying that there is a difference between personal scores, and actual scores. You can look at something entirely with personal taste (which is fine) or look at something objectively. And objectively, this game is definitely a 9 or above. For example, I dislike the film "pulp fiction" for personal reasons, but looking at that movie objectively: Its a masterpiece.

Hands down my favorite game of all time, beats GTA V like nothing. I love GTA V don't get me wrong, but this game is so much better.

This game is amazing. There were some issues with the AI, characters, and other things, but the story is what makes a game a good game. Even if you loot, stealth, and kill every time, what other survival games are there tht doesn't do that? I mean if you want to survive in a survival game, you have to do things that are important for survival right?

Angelo Mongiello That's part of the point. You're not supposed to have completely obvious direction because the game leaves it up to you to make your own way. It's another aspect of the immersion. Besides, it's hard to get too lost. It's fairly easy to find your way around. Although the world looks very open, it only gives you a few options to follow and most lead you to where you need to go.

Possibly the best game ever made done by the best developer in the industry.

Hands down my favorite game of all time. I've beaten it so many times and I never get tired of playing it. I've beaten it on normal 4 times, Hard 4 times, Survivor 3 times, and Grounded 5 times. I hope Naughty Dog makes a The Last of Us 2 because I just can't get enough of this game and I feel like they have so much potential for a sequel

Number one rule for The Last of Us: You won't understand until you play it.

You don't realize the greatness of this games story if you haven't played it. The games story is so emotional and well written. The way it all comes together and all the symbolism and watching the journey unfold with not only the story but with the characters is an amazing thing. The game gets a 10/10 just from how amazing the experience was and still is when I replay it.

I know everybody has been saying 'this game feels like a movie'. Now that i think about it, do we all know the reason? Well I'll tell you just in case, the game has aspects of survival in which it is 'on the spot' realism. The stealth, the animations of Joel's movements as he leans against the wall to amplify sound on the other end, when he makes his equipment in his bag. Its all according to what we might really do in real life as you can see. The gameplay itself is not the winner but it is Ellie and Joel that won the VGA 2013 for best female and male characters/ voice actors. In fact if you realize no other game manages to deliver such an emotional bond to the 2 personalities. Everytime you go through certain areas, conversations between Joel and Ellie is so consistent and its almost non-stop. Even when you're in a shoot out or getting attacked by the infected will you hear them communicating with one another. Thats the whole reason why we feel its kinda like a movie and that is a good thing. Because rarely, have we seen games that tell a spectacular story through its characters, personalities and the incredibly realistic dialogue. The thought of how Naughty Dogs even came up with such brilliant ideas is just an enigma in the gaming industry. Not to mention this was their first ever M18 game and it was already next to GTA V. Think about it, first they went from Doritos Crash, to Uncharted then to The Last Of Us. How do they go from a child's game to a teens game and then to an adult game? I don't know...All I know is that, from this moment on its work and franchise will have a legacy marked in the sand where no other gaming company can touch.

All of the people saying it's overrated are the ones that are still scathing the comments section of reviews for this game because they don't own a PS3 and weren't able to experience it, so they hover around this review page like vultures downplaying it. Everybody who truly has completed it and loved it won't be found around this page this late in the game's life cycle, it's just common sense. It's obviously the ones who have never played it and remain curious as to what its like to this very day. So here's my advice. Borrow a PS3, pretend that the console war doesn't exist for 20 hours, and get your mind blown by the best game of Generation 7 since MGS4.

I was an xbox 360 gamer who sold that console to get this console and this game...i now play on PC but in my 15 years of gaming there is NOTHING,and i mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING comes close to this game...the game is perfect in every way...its so perfect that there has never been a patch to the story (as far as i know) ABSOLUTELY STUNNING GAME and if the last of us 2 comes out on ps4 i will sell my gaming pc for it...no hesitation AT ALL

Just finished TLOU Remastered tonight on the PS4 which was my first time. This game is epic in every sense. Story is better than most movies and the scenery is just beautiful. Can't believe this was a PS3 game originally. Simply stunning and deserves the perfect 10!

I remember when I first got this game, I was literally glued to the screen, I really recommend a high difficulty to get the best out of this as it seriously pushes you and you generally feel you're in this world because there's hardly any ammo at all. I connected to the characters I cried numerous of times, it was generally so clever and witty, my favourite game of all time, simply because of the storyline, the genuine gameplay is just a bonus

...bit of a bias statement here, "Naughty Dog is the best developer in gaming"

lol.. yeah it was.. the xbox had no games after that last gears of war.. ps3 had everything.. with 2013 being arguably the ps3's best yr.. tlou got like a hundred perfect scores and also around that time the ps3 eclipsed the 3fixme in sales

Its really funny everyone hating on this game & people saying its too like a movie etc etc people cinematic gaming is the way gaming is going & its for the better! This was in my opinion, hands down, the best game of the PS3 generation. No where else will you find such emotional story telling, and great game mechanics.

This is my favorite game of all time, and even I'll say that there shouldn't be a sequel. The story of Joel and Ellie is over, and it would ruin it if there was a continuation. Even if there was a spinoff game with different characters, I fear it would never amount to the original. Just let a legend be.

+DreamOfTitans "The story of Joel and Ellie is over, and it would ruin it if there was a continuation" I thought the same when it was just the main game, then Left Behind came out and I thought it only made the story as a whole better. If they can ad more to The Last of Us without ruining it in the form of dlc, then I wouldn't they be able to do that with a sequel.

The good thnig is this is Noughty dog, and they will make it work in a way that wont spoil the first part.
