The Last of Us Part I is a remake of the original TLOU that will release on PS5 September 2nd, 2022, and at a later date on PC. The remake will feature the original story but the game is being completely rebuilt from the ground up featuring completely overhauled graphics, new gameplay and combat similar to The Last of Us Part II, new animations, new character models, new AI, new environments, expanded accessibility options, near instant loading times, cutscenes rendered in real time instead of being pre rendered like the original, use of the PS5’s adaptive triggers and haptic feedback as well as Game Help, and more! Will you be getting the remake?

Already have it pre ordered, can’t wait! It’s going to be amazing seeing TLOU1 with gameplay similar to TLOU2, and the new AI is definitely going to be great compared to the originals, and I’m assuming they will make the puzzles have more variety too! And the wider environments will make the game so much better! The original is already one of the best games of all time, but this remake will make it better in every way!

Guess what movie I’m from

Just shows you how good the OG cutscenes were, characters' models looked gorgeous back in the day, and the remake didn't make them look THAT better, but the overall quality improvement is astounding. People are whining and hating on the remake but they don't understand how better the game will be with the Part 2 engine and also MOUSE and KEYBOARD? Sign me up please P.S. A little sad that they didn't show any gameplay, but I'm sure it will be just as good as Part II's

Even tho I know I’m going to buy it, because let’s be honest Redux, the price ain’t going lower after the firefly edition running out, I still believe it’s if a high price, and it should be at least 50, just because it’s the same game. But again, this player is making no mention of these things and is just excited for the prospect of this game… I think that should be okay.

One of the best games i've played on PS3.....it pushed the console power to max and very optimized with few scenes dropping below 30fps.

The original on PS3 is definitely not better than the remaster on PS4 lol, idk what you mean by it’s darker, maybe the brightness wasn’t high enough on the video you were watching

As someone who has played over 400 hours of TLoU remastered, it’s not too dark, I’ve played the original, remaster, and remake, all are great, and it’s never been too dark for me

They made tlou on only 256 mb of ram

Well 256mb vram + 256mb ram and also it used the whole spu core in the cpu which also controls graphics and physics of the game That's why it has such insane graphics

What I don't get is why they made him look like Joel in part 2? He's supposed to be a good bit younger with more black hair.

The Joel that we see in the prologue of The Last of Us Part II is the same age as he is at the end of TLoU1, the intro of TLoU2 takes place around 3 weeks after Joel lied to Ellie. He looks like that Joel, the Joel that we see later in TLoU2 is 4 years older and has longer hair, but in the intro of Part II he’s the same age as he is at the end of Part I, so that’s why they made him look like that.

Either way it doesn't bother me, Part 2 is only set 5 years later, a grown adult like Joel would not really look all that much different in just 5 years. Ellie on the other hand was only 14 in the first game so 5 years makes a big difference in how she looks.

Problem is they are marketing this game on comparisons to a title that still holds up and emotes characters better than a lot of games now. This thing should be shown from a gameplay perspective, I don’t need the cutscenes to look better I want the gameplay to feel and be better so it can match the AAA movie quality cutscenes. The biggest criticism of 1 was gameplay, the biggest criticism of 2 was no Joel. So market you Joel game with how much better the gameplay is THATS ALL YOU NEED TO DO

Ellie reminds me of that girl from quiet place who found the weakness for me and my brothers and sister aliens, and Joel reminds me of the guy from quiet place 2, who is trynna help the family

Yes in my opinion because scenes can be a bit more emotional when you can see better facial expressions frowns/tears...etc. plus the gore.

Playing this on a ultra wide monitor at 100+ fps on PC will be awesome I bet.

Ellie got a different face on ps5. Why o why.

why are they making a last of us remake, the game is in out hearts as a good memory, and now they are changing the environment, characters, characters voice, and the way characters look, but why what's the point they are my love for the game because that is last of us, we don't need to change it, we don't its already had a remasterd version, what's the point of it, must be a money making scheme, really just ruining it, the original is always gonna be the best, look at other companies like Coca-Cola, everyone only really drinks the original flavor, why are they changing everything, like that doesn't even look like original ellie at all, and that really makes me feel shit like it dosent even make any sense, those were the faces of ellie and joel we grew up with, why change it, i really think its just a money making scheme and they are damaging the enjoymant of the game like i doubt pc players will even be able to play the remastered version, it just really bothers me they are changing what we all remember, like what is the main reason for this i still don't understand, why didn't they make all these changes in the remasted version, someone please explain i am so bothered by it, i just don't understand feels like a memory is being ruined!!

They are not changing the characters voices, it is the same original performances by the cast. They are rebuilding the graphics, animations, gameplay, AI, expanding the accessibility features, etc. It is the same exact story, but it is the definitive version of the first game. Yes the characters look different, but that’s because they look more realistic. The Last of Us HBO Tv Series comes out next year and is going to bring many new fans to the franchise, and with this remake new and old fans will be able to experience the game at its full potential. When Naughty Dog made TLoU in 2013 they were limited by the technology at the time, now they are able to reach their original vision. Also this will be coming to pc so new players can experience it, yes they could’ve just put the remaster on there as it’s still great, but it definitely could be better from a gameplay, AI, puzzle, and exploration perspective. You don’t have to get the remake, you can just play the original or remaster if you want, but the remake is still the original actors and performances they recorded 10 years ago, the remake will be the same story but a better game.

Glad I could help! And in my opinion I think that Joel and Ellie in the remake look like a much more realistic version of themselves, I think they still look like same people but they overall look way better now. And since they are making the remake on PS5 and the original character designs were made for PS3 they need to change the design to make it better work for the hardware, it’s similar to how Elena Fisher looks different in Uncharted 4 than she did in the first 3 games, she still looks like Elena, just much more realistic, I believe the same goes for all the characters in The Last of Us Part I.

@@yanks18 so I took into consideration everything you said, and the new last of us part 1 has the characters looking like the ones from part 2, Ellie's face shape was more similar to that of last of us part 2, and I feel like it kind of distorts the original Ellie, I mean I've seen a side by side comparison and yes I agree graphics and better and everything looks more realistic but close to the Ellie from part 2 like I said distorted original Ellie, looks more like Ellie from part 2

Yes they definitely made the character models look like they did in TLoU2, and I like that, like I said I think it just makes them look like much more realistic versions of themselves. I know some people didn’t like The Last of Us Part II, but it is canon and that’s how they look in Part II so that’s why they wanted to make them look like that in Part I. I personally love how they look
