I like the fact that Joel only gets physical when Tommy pretty mich says he’d rather have died than see what Joel did to survive. It hurts when you do everything to protect someone only for them to throw it back at you. Makes you feel like all that suffering you endured and caused was pointless. God I love this game.

Your right. you see the new GOD OF WAR. It uses the same Father pounding story and gameplay mechanics just like last of us, and it won over RDR2(the best game of all time) for Game of the year. Yes I think RDR2 is The Perfect Game and No its not a fact.

9:34 Tommy was too caught up on how his brother changed into a monster which is why the argument was really heated mostly because Tommy didn't know why Joel needed him to deliver Ellie to the fireflies. 14:40 is when Tommy sees a bit of his old brother in him. He sees how he was worried about Ellie like if she was Sarah. And he fully understands why he needs to deliver Ellie to the fireflies.

Basically, aside from Ellie, though not blood, she was probably the only family Tommy has left at this point. No wonder why he became bitter and vengeful.

Tommy was the only character I really liked in the sequel. Seeing him revert to his former self as a vicious hunter to deal out vengeance was pretty amazing. He probably would have gotten the whole job done on his own if Ellie's incompetence hadn't screwed everything up.

Sarah is Joel's daughter but Tommy also loved her and suffered through their loss. Joel & Tommy grieved in different ways. Joel being angry at all times, doing any ways just to survive and Tommy maybe wanting stop the disease that cause this chaos which killed Sarah so he joined the Fireflies. Tommy went back to their house to find closure to his grief and Joel never did try to face her death til Ellie came and she remind him of her.

Wouldn't Tommy have felt a bit guilty about Sarah's death? Thinking that if he had been faster, he could have saved them both. Feeling like it was kinda on him? Joel and Tommy saw Sarah's death differently. For Joel, it was being a victim of the cruelty of the world and choosing to deal with it. For Tommy, it was his failure to save a life and he wants to save everyone else.

Tony Tan I feel Joel might have also felt guilty. When the soldier aimed the gun he tried to turn around so she wouldn’t get shot. If you look closely he gets shot in the left shoulder, the right leg, and you can see him holding his side when he falls. But she still got shot and died. He might feel guilty because he tried hard to save her (and got shot multiple times in the process) yet still failed to protect her.

lmao, I love how people use this explanation despite the fact that it doesn't make sense. Joel is still proactive and not just wandering around Jackson like a useless old man. Sure he might not be as strong as before but you never forget instincts. He spent more time being alone than being a father figure to Ellie. The fact that being surrounded and seeing everyone act suspiciously didn't set off any internal alarms for Joel makes it such a stupid scenario, but sure "hE gOt SofT"

I swear.. Joel and Tommy are actually a perfect Army of two. Joel obviously prefers up close fighting. That’s pretty much shown throughout the game no matter how you play. And Tommy is the guy that stays back and with his rifle in hand I love how Tommy is pretty much Joel but with more of a kinder, gentler approach to things. But as TLOU2 shows, he can still be just as brutal as Joel. Like they really are cut from the same cloth

Amazing how much the animations and quality improved between this and the sequel. I thought this looked amazing once but it looks so rough now by comparison

I think if they wanted to kill Joel off, they could’ve done it better. Then you could switch between Ellie and Tommy as characters. I really liked him in Part 2. He was the only good thing about it.

Seeing Tommy emerge as a badass was the definitely the best part of TLOU2. The scene where he snipes at Abby and Manny and drives them into a horde of infected was awesome. Wish we could have played it from his perspective.

Even Tommy was out of character in Part 2. In fact, Joel died because of him. Why the hell would he tell a bunch of people their names and location? Might as well tell them what their credit card numbers are.

They actually look like legit brothers. Sometimes games can make siblings look way to identical, but most brothers I have encountered usually have similar differences that Tommy and Joel have, one is taller, maybe with a different hair color and style and one usually has a better beard than the other but their faces are similar enough that you can tell they are brothers.

Honestly I'd much rather have murderous Joel by my side than his goody two shoes of a brother. I mean joel is perfectly capable and ready to kill anyone who threatens him or those around him. It's like if you were offered the choice between a pet lion and a pet dog and told both will be loyal to you but one is a lot better at killing.

Guinea tommy wasn’t a “goody two shoes” he said he has nightmares for the things they did to survive. Tommy is a survivor same as Joel, he just faces the things he’s done, has hope he could have and will do better, and strives for that. Joel on the other hand, is still full of hatred and anger, and let’s that fuel him to do whatever it takes to survive. One full of hope, the other anger. Two different lives, two different paths. But yet in the end, they find another once again, as it should be.

@@joshuawalker9031 From the way Joel tells it he was the one out doing the terrible things to keep them both alive. Tommy says he has nightmares from those days but that doesn't mean he did nearly as much things as Joel. It's more likely Joel did most of the dirty work until Tommy ran off to try and find a better life.

People like you really overrate Joel. He was a highly skilled survivor, but he wasn't Superman. Dude would have died on several occasions if it weren't for the help of a little girl. He doesn't seem particularly special -- just another selfish asshole in a world full of 'em. We just happen to be following his story.

This game is so underrated and I love this and it broke me it was the best game I’ve ever played hands down no game has made me feel so connected and emotional about a game apart from this changed that

God, I wish this would've been a movie, but it's a hell of a good game.
