The magic of this show is in all the characters. No character was short changed. Uhtred's crew is the best crew ever!!

This is the best series I have ever seen. Started watching years ago and gave up. Rejoined and loved it more than any serie I have ever seen. I have seen game of thrones, the walking dead, the 100, peaky blinders, barbarians, vikings, ... almost every popular serie and this is by far the best ever. Acting, music, story, set, ... my infinite love and respect for this underrated master piece.

I agree but I think this series is at one level with vikings, game of thrones. So I think there isn't a better or worst this series just a masterpiece like game of thrones or vikings

I finished this last night, I don't mind admitting as a 62 year old in the dying minutes of this wonderfully scripted epic story when Uhtred was reliving all his bad & good times that had brought him to this moment there were tears running down my cheeks! Utterly Brilliant! Well worth my Netflix subs just for this show! In am age where TV & Cinema are just about mind-blowing unrealistic action with very little story telling, this was an epic story beautifully filmed & brilliantly acted! Thankyou Uhtred so of Uhtred

After all this time I've always thought that Wessex was the "last kingdom" now I know it was Northumbria. Such a powerful endning and story and now it finally ends. What an adventure it was everyone! Vikings believed that you are responsible for your own destiny. While christians believe that you put everything into god’s hand and he will deliver. This is what seperates the two faiths, and its quite interesting because I believe in both ways.

This is gorgeous. I love how the show came full circle from the first scenes of Uhtred losing his home as a child, to the last shot of Uhtred at Bebbanburg with that satisfied smile on his face. You have captured that journey so spectacularly and emphasized why I love this character driven show so much! Thank you!

This show is not underrated. It is a hidden gem. Hidden by Netflix. Many viewers gave up on the show at the first few episodes of season one (because it felt like a boring documentary) but it gets a lot better overtime. Season 5 was 10/10 better than any show we got lately and even though it's not loyal to the books it is still perfect (unlike the witcher for example in which season 2 was crap)

i dont even remember season 1 of the witcher because it was all over the place, so confusing. I stopped watching halfway through season 2 lol. If not for the main actor playing the witcher i probably wouldnt have bothered at all, such a crap show. The last kingdom is better than vikings, alot better than vikings valhalla and a HEAP better than the witcher.

@@alexpoobum the problem for the witcher was not actually the confusing timeline. It was the fact that they strayed too far from the books which was the main reason season 2 only got 60% audience score on rotten tomatoes. Also in season 1 they didn't adapt one of the most important short stories from the books. They removed the sword of destiny, in which Geralt meets Ciri for the first time few years before Cintra fell and left her. Without it the whole talk of them being bound by something more than destiny makes no sense. Also another huge issue imo is bad casting. Not bad actors but unfiting for some roles. Yennefer looks and acts like a modern teanage girl (screaming and swearing all the time while she is supposed be a witty character) and she also looks younger than Ciri who is supposed to be 12 at the time and actor is 19. After that show and the trailer for LOTR TOP I had lost hope for Netflix. Then came Valhalla for which I had low expectations but it wasn't too disappointing. And then TLK S5 came and I was amazed. Every episode was full of emotions and had me on the edge of my chair. The only show that is not ruined by woke writers I've seen lately

Season 5 was a disappointment. Stiorra a meh character was supposed to die and Sigtrygrr (however you spell that) an awesome character was supposed to live, yet they swapped that for no reason I can see other than to have a lame daddy daughter beef for five minutes and to make a another unrealistic woman leader of the Danes. Also Uthred’s youngest son (the better son) appears for a five second clip and that’s it. It was good but compared to how good it could of been it was a disappointment, I’m not trying to beef anyone just my opinion.

@@BerserkerJay237 yeah the season wasnt perfect i agree, i loved sigtrygrrrs character in season 4 and he seemed kinda lame in season 5. Im sick of them throwing women into leadership roles in historic shows when very very rarely did it ever happen ever in history. Oh and the black priest ok england advising kings and a trustworthy advisor is hard to swallow but whatever.

King Alfred was one of my favourite characters in this series. He was so well written.

Just finished Season 5, now rewatching from S1 where it all began. Love, love, love this show!

The series is a masterpiece. Sad that it is now over but I'm looking forward to the movie.

Started this show a couple weeks ago - just finished today. I could not turn it off. I was watching it every chance I could - doing the dishes, folding laundry, cooking dinner - just glued to the beauty of this series. Honestly, I feel, in a way, empty now that it is over. This edit was done so beautifully. Captured the whole story from beginning to end and honestly capped off the ending of this series for me in such a great way. What an amazingly well written/acted show. I'm afraid I will not find a show that draws me toward it like this did in a very long time.

I've been wholly invested in this show and it's depressing to see it end. On the other hand I couldn't be happier for Uhtred finally getting recognized as Lord of Bebbanburg after all he's been through. It was a hell of a journey and it concluded so beautifully.

There will never be another show for me . Watched Vicking many times .but that that dumb after season 4 Still watch it just cause I like Viking history. Vikings Valhalla not good at all . If you know any Viking History Leif Ericsson Did exist Oct 6 we celebrate his time That was the o ly thi g that interested me So after saying that last kingdom out shines them all keep watching till the film fades out Enjoy enjoy 😉

The best Netflix show of all time. Honestly love this show. I’ve seen Vikings, and I’ve seen Vikings Valhalla, this is the greatest piece of Viking media ever.

My husband asked me for so long to watch this show with him 'cause he'd seen all 4 seasons (before the 5th one came out) and wanted to watch it again with me but I always said no until one day I didn't and just said fuck it and I'm so glad I did! I thankfully didn't have to wait a year between seasons so I was able to binge it in just a couple of weeks before the 5th season came out and we just finished that season a couple of days ago and I am so fucking sad it's over!! One of the best shows I've ever watched and they managed to make it good all the way through! All 5 seasons are absolute gold to me, not a lot of shows have been able to do that! I kinda wish they'd kept going with more seasons though since I love it so much! But I am very excited for the wrap up movie they're making where we can see the end to this marvelous story!! Now I do however have to wait a year or so until the movie comes out and it is gonna be very hard!

This show had the very best of actor's. What made it great is they read off of each other. Became friends making it even better.Adding Finen was a great move As great as Uthred is Finen has the humor and also very handsome, without crazy hair cuts Finen is Finen just got to love him. The giggle the half smile ,a guy who has got it. The bond between Uthred and he Is real .I have watched this show many many times from one to none It is just the best of everything.watching it over and over became my Destiny

I liked it because it's based on real historical events and character's. The actors and actresses done an amazing job.

Only upon his deathbed did King Alfred realize all that Uhtred did for him & Wessex

The series was too short! Can’t get enough of Uhtred and his men.

I watched this show 2.5 times. Watching the last episode during the final montage of everything he went through almost had me in tears. Even w a low budget, the acting, chemistry, music, just amazing.

Perfection!

This show does what most Netflix shows are unable to do. Actually finish out the series. Not only finish, but do so in a familiar way

The show had such a beautiful ending no gimmicks no bs, just taking the viewers back through the ride they all went through with Uhtred then finally letting them soak in the reality that bebanburgh is ours amazing show

OK but if Alfred didn't have a brilliant actor and had an average show then this show wouldn't of been anywhere near how good it is, goated unnoticed actor

What a tribute! Just finished the series. Uhtred's story arc is one of the best I've seen and his character is definitely one of the best to ever be created.

Been watching since BBC days and loved every minute! Can't wait for the film to come out.

they've left it open for Aethestan to eventually rise and take the throne after Edward and finally unite the four Kingdoms into the one Kingdom of England, Alfred's dream

This show would not be where is it today without it’s creators and actors love for their craft and their professionalism and humility they have shown for one another. They were unified and are as Uhtred said about Alfred, “Bonded.” It will be one of my all time favorite shows.

What an amazing show, excels in every level. I was sad it finished, but happy it ended well. No lose ends, no false promises. Today I learned there's a movie coming, can't describe how excited and happy I am. Destiny is all.

its a classic masterpiece❤️ with uthred taking back what his own after so much he has suffered is somewhere make this ending beautiful.

I'm loving this movie like series it is indeed Amazing the actors the visuals the story are doing a great job and gave some history lesson about England. I like all the Characters most especially Lord Ulthred.

Just finished listening to the soundtrack, bought it on cd last week.....fan of Eivør for sure too now! Bought 2 of her cd's on a fair last weekend. Read the books since they came out as Bernard Cornwell is one of my favorite writers. This show did them justice in its own right, loved it and the last season and ending delivered! I actually work for a Danish company.....they said I should visit a yearly Viking festival upon hearing I'm interested in the lore.....maybe I will someday.

I cried watching this, The Last kingdom is a great show, Uhtred's story is magnificent! Unfortunately this great story does not get the recognition it deserves. Netflix does not disclose, The Last kingdom ended up releasing at the time that Game of Thrones dominated this genre, and even had Vikings, this made The Last kingdom stay in the shadow of these two series, which are great, but The Last kingdom is also very good just like these two series, it deserved more recognition worldwide

The last kingdom is an amazing show much better and interesting than vikings, sigtryggr was absolutly my fave with ivar from vikings and then come uthred. My ship number one is of coursr sigtryggr and stiorra and of course i would like to see a spin off about king and queen of danes with them but this video is amazing

Best show ever

From all these legendary shows (GoT, Vikings, The Last Kingdom and some other) and yet Uhtred is the best character from all of them (Only Björn and Ragnar who can stand with him). But sadly and i know the show may ended but i hope we can get something to end his journey, because i feel nothing at the end of fifth season. Its all happy and ending and "just" a few character died whose fate dosent matter at all. And dont get me wrong, some of them (dont want to spoil anything) was so heartbreaking to watch and still at the end i just dont feel that bittersweet ending like other shows. And from a show that i like this much maybe even better then the otherts i except something more. I know what will happend in the books, and there they break Uhtred and then he's come back and thats what give us or at lest for me that kind of ending i want it from the show even that will cost one of my favorit characters life. (pls forgive me for my mistakes, english not my native language)
