I mean, honestly, the friendship between them is what sold this show to me so much. (Because while Sharpe will try to sell Harper and Sharpe as good pals, they feel like work friends, while Uthred, Finan, Sihtric and Osferth friendship feels like they are genuine bros.) And because they are good friends, it lends emotional weight to important moments, such as when people like Osferth, Halig or Clappa die, which in turn makes the audience more likely to care.

Just finished the 5 seasons last night (at 5am 😅) . The entire show I was constantly going "Protect Finan at all costs!!!" He's the only thing that kept it upbeat and fun. Every time they were caught offguard or something, I'd be like "Not Finan!! They're coming for Finan, man!!" Clearly scarred from my GOT days.

Absolutely. Beocca may have been Father Beocca as a priest but he was the constant father Uhtred needed. It physically hurt when he died. 😢

Finan its an amazing comedian, Sihtric's face talk by himself and Osferth just delivers the best moments to drop the joke. They are the same trio that would fight Jesus with Infinite Stones if Uhtred was in danger.

❤️ The banter is hilarious. Such friends. The comedic scenes in an otherwise serious drama are just what I love .

The best ever trio of characters ... Great casting. Finan always says, 'what's the plan, Lord', and Uhtred never had a plan. Finan would say, I know that look, Lord, you have no plan...Uhtred laughs and they follow him anyway .. ❤️

The comedy was one of the things that made this show stand out so much. They made a great historical fantasy drama and fantastic characters with a proper amount of bl0odshed but it was the comedy that made me pause and rewind because i couldn't stop laughing .

The funniest line in the Finale is missing. The 5 of them arrive at a tavern and there is a man with crooked eyes. He turns to the others and says " Dont make eye contact " xD

Father Pyrlig talking about how he had the letter from Alfred secured near his ball bag always cracks me up. I literally watch this show daily. Every time I find something I missed the last run through. I laugh my ass off and cry like a baby each time I watch it

The cholera outbreak episode was hilarious! 🤣😍

I love how the show was absolutely hilarious at fhe most random times. There was a war scene and before the fight started Father made a comment about the enemy's mom😂

I was waiting for the part beocca punches and head it’s the guy who was harassing thyra. Never seen him start a fight so that was a one of a kind amazing scene that deserves to be in this video

The fact this show is not more popular is criminal.

You can easily tell they were ad-libbing and corpsing in many of these and these were the best takes. One of the best ensembles I have ever seen in a series. Genuinely sad it's over.

Sitric the realest I thought he was eventually going to cross uthred but he really held him down till death

Uhtred and his friends are genuinely my favorite, like I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t like them 😂 despite being vikings and in wars they feel like brothers and sisters goofing around and i'm all here for it.

yeah, that was the last kingdom. you should give it a go! first few episodes may be a bit slow (i found them to be slow), but it picks up. season 3 is my favourite
