I was at this game and it was incredible hearing some of the greats up on the podium giving their take on what the Metrodome meant to them. Loved that we ended the stadium on a winning note and can't wait to see a game at US Bank stadium. SKOL

I was born purple and have been a Viking fan since day one. For most of my life one of my dreams was to enjoy my very first live football game at the Metrodome. To be one of the screaming demons in the stands to help my beloved Vikings rip whomever happened to be unfortunate enough to be playing them. That dream has passed, along with this part of history... But a new dream has replaced it. To enjoy my very first live football game at the new stadium. Like a Superbowl Win... 50+ years is far too long of a wait.

I totally agree. I live in Connecticut and have been a Viking fan my entire life- I'll be 59 next month Purple blood runs in my veins !!! One of these years we'll know what it feels to be world champions. What's that old saying: good things come to those who wait. Well I've been waiting 58 years. Come on Vikes, make the playoffs today and move on from there!

I still don't know why they tore down the Metrodome. They could've kept it as a landmark at least let it stay long enough to host SB 52.

While I never been inside the Metrodome, LIKE EVER, I’m glad everybody else got to. But I can say that I’ve been inside the newly(OK, maybe not as newly now) US Bank Stadium. I’m glad everybody (or nearly)got to keep the memorabilia from the dome though Edit: I remember like it was yesterday (metaphorically speaking ofc)watching the news when the dome broke because of all that snow and it became the headline. It’s crazy on how it happened nearly 2 decades ago.

went to multiple twins games, vikings games and a few concerts like Metallica, miss the dome. glad to see 2 world series victories. just wish the vike would have won it all before my mom and grandpa passed away

I’ll be honest, I’m not gonna miss the dome at all. Yes there is 30+ years of Vikings history there, but Jesus it was a crappy stadium. We can make new history at this new stadium- like we already have.

Back in 1982, I hated when they left the elements of Metropolitan Stadium to play at the Metrodome. It didn't start off well in terms of being Division winners. It took time to build it. Then came 1989. The number 1 defense in the league. Then after a slow start to the 1990's, winning Divisions and making the playoffs at the Dome became easier but yet harder because of Farve. The late 1990's early 2000's saw some successes. Then came the Crash of 2010. The old girl collapsed in front off our eyes as old age was setting in. Then came that moment to say goodbye. 😞. I only wish that the new US Bank Stadium could be as loud as the Metrodome but probably can't because of the roof.
