    I received the Sacrament of the Sick a month ago before a major surgery. When Fr. Fernando said "your sins are forgiven" I cried and knew if were to die my soul would be with Jesus. That was the only time in my 67 years that I had no fear of the 4 Last Things.

    As a Hospice Chaplain, death is a regular thing for me. The reason I came to work in Hospice is because when my Great-Grandfather passed there was no Catholic Priest or Chaplain to be found and that crushed me. That's why the Cistercian Order of the Holy Cross has began an indigent burial fund and all of our incoming Clergy will be working in Hospice to replace the increasing number of Non-Christian Chaplains. Thanks for what y'all do!

    I had a near death experience. I “transferred” immediately and was standing in front of a very large very bright light emanating being. I was surprised with the immediate acceptance and asked why I was there. I didn’t feel worthy at all. The being responded telepathically, “because you are a righteous man”. It sounded more like a category I was part of. The being was “The Archangel Michael” as he identified himself. He told me I could come work with him or go back. I felt an incredible responsibility for my wife and child. It was the only word that popped into my mind. I responded (with an expletive shockingly) indicating I needed to go back. The being laughed about my answer and said “I thought you’d say that” in spoken word not telepathically. It was the most amazing experience ever times a billion.

    I'm a Byzantine Catholic. Our church is filled with beautiful, large icons of important events in Jesus's life, the Saints and the Blessed Mother. The two largest icons are the one under the huge dome of Jesus, the teacher. So we walk into church to learn the word of God so that we may live our lives according to it. The largest icon which is painted on the entire choir loft area, is the Last Judgement. We are reminded that we have learned the way to live and that ultimately we are facing God's judgement on how we did. It is very detailed and includes people waiting to be judged as well as the fiery path to hell and the creatures there. It's very powerful but I must say that many people miss it because they are in such a rush to leave. An interesting show might be for you to interview or to visit Father Tom Loya, a priest and iconographer. Is the pastor of a Byzantine parish in Homer Glen Illinois. There is also a KZread channel

    I'm not Catholic. Heck, I'm not even Christian (I do believe in God though), so I'd be interested in your breakdown of the Type O Negative song "These Three Things," since it has a religious theme and the singer/bass player, Peter Steele, had recently renewed his faith in the Catholic church around the time the song was written. Peter passed away since then, however. The title of this video reminded me of the song. I was introduced to your channel a few days ago when KZread recommended your breakdown of Black Sabbath's song After Forever.

    Does a person in a coma for many years or suffering from dementia still have their soul? If a person has multiple personalities but only one physical body, do they have multiple souls? Our consciousness and physical bodies have mutual feedback. If a person dies and consciousness, which no longer has material needs, why assume the existence of heaven and hell? Is judgment based on a person's actions, their consequences, their thoughts, or their soul?

  • @joshdavis6493

    @joshdavis6493

    9 ай бұрын

    When a person is in a coma, they still have one soul with their body, evan if you were in a coma from birth, die of old age at 90 years. With multiple personalities there is still one soul. When 2 people make a baby, God infuses a singular soul into that body. Our understanding with mental illness there is a natural explanation, that may or may not be treated. I'm bad with this part of catachesis, but I believe heaven and he'll are more similar to states of being. When we die, we believe in the resurrection of the body, which is the seperation of our soul from our body. (Some scientists deny this because you can't measure a soul, therefore doesnt exist) Hell is the absence of God that we chose to go to in this world. When we are judged, it will be how we lived, what we did and didn't do, how we treated ourselves and others, our heart we did our actions or inactions. There is a saint that said, if we faces our judgment right now for all of our sins we would die from fright, but if we felt the love and forgiveness from God, we would die from ecstacy. I don't have a good answer for the consequences of our actions, because God can take the complete and absolute evil action and make it the most Holy and greatest thing to grace the world. When it comes to the beatific vision, we will know olst our resurrection

    Jesus told me that the only real death is self pity or despair. Also if your name isn't written in the Book of Life, meaning if you don't have the Holy Spirit, you will be cast out of Heaven, during the final judgement. It's serious. I've noticed a lot of people saying all you need is love. Yes you need to love but you can't love as a human the way God is pure perfect unconditional Love. You must receive Jesus into your heart, commit your life to Him and He will give you the Holy Spirit. It doesn't matter your denomination, as long as this is your core belief. Jesus crushed the devil and sin when He died and was resurrected. You just have to accept this, you cant do anything else to save yourself. He said if you reject the Holy Spirit then you are condemned. Also the first thing He asks you when you go back before you are allowed in is if you've forgiven everyone.

    Shouldn’t it be the 5 last things? I mean shouldn’t we include the Second Coming? “Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again!!!!!” And, I think these 5 could be the 5th and final set of the mysteries of the Holy Rosary - the Last Things mysteries, or the Eschatological mysteries. The Saints meditated on these topics a lot. Wouldn’t it be cool if we got all the pilgrim saints-in-the-making on earth to pray and meditate on these Last Things mysteries once a week? Say, on the Last Day of the week? Like? If so, pass the idea on to the Pope, just like was done with the Luminous Mysteries or Mysteries of Light. Amen. Come Lord Jesus! Amen.

    reubenrodrigues7962, I faciltate a Book Club at church and we're begiining the book, A Travel Guide to Heaven by Anthony DeStafano. He argues that Heaven is fun. "it's aplace of unlimited pleasure, unlimited happiness, and unlimited joy. .. Heaven is dynamic . It's the ultimate playground... created.., by someone who knows what enjoyment means, because he invented it. It's Disney World, Hawaii, Paris, and NY all rolled into one". He uses the Bible scriptures, the Church fathers, and his imagination to describe Heaven. He also cites CS Lewis, "The serious business of Heaven is joy". Perhaps you;d like to buy your friend this easy, light-hearted, yet profound book ??

    Is there something more to be looked out for than the particular judgment? It is the very first time one will see who one really is, seeing oneself in the Verb, in the Logos. All judgments here below are sloppy, hardly possible, always encroached upon by skepticism of sorts. Who knows who here? No one. Imagine: the first gift in death is truth, finally. What is my truth? And, I won't have to doubt, i won't have to argue (and doubt myself while arguing, cos' who knows his very real motives?), I will see as it is. There is hardly any truth in this life, and if there is it's without glory. Churchill was a heroe. Churchill was a shithead. Who was Churchill finally?. Well, just imagine you (he) now really know(s), and no more questions asked. Whatever the outcome, upon death, our Good Lord -and only as Good Lord is he also a terrible judge- gives everyone the inmense grace of knowing the truth. How more consoling can it get, particularly now there are 25.000 opinions levelled át interpreting the meaning of the farth of an ant and knowing finally comes down to the solitary business, never ended, of never coinciding with any one else, as our infinite subjectivity is now so precious and made so inmensely vast through unending discourse, there can simply be no more talk of truth. Where no truth can reconcile us any longer, there is hell. So death, will start by getting us out of that hell. My sister death, Saint Francis of Assisi adressed this amiable event...

    Of course God is merciful, but didn't Jesus Himself say that the road to perdition was wide and that many traveled it, as opposed to the narrow road that few found?

    I think ppl have given or failed at everything they believe they'll fail life and not make it to heaven. Why try? Also Jesus said that path to heaven is narrow and they believe most people follow the wide path.

    Bishop Barron is wrong on that one. There is no reasonable hope that all men are saved. Our Lord said that himself. Our Lord does desire that no one is lost, but he also knows that most will not be saved. Now is that a 51/49 split, I don’t know, but hell most assuredly is not empty.

    The fewness of the saved of St-Leonard-de-Port-Maurice gives an answer. He relates a story where 33000 people died at the same hour, 3 went to purgatory, 2 to heaven and the rest to hell. Food for thought .

    @@robbchristopher158 you can do that, but without repentance and an amendment of lifestyle trying to imitate Christ, you’re giving a false hope.

    If anyone has something to say about the Mother of Christ, they need to watch Father Ripperger talk about the Blessed Mother. Her power, her life story, which I received in the Mail, (USPS), during Lent reciting 7-decade Rosary. She is as real and powerful as her son.
