The Last Five Years: Quant Journey 30 to 35
Since I just turned 35 years old, I figured I would a podcast episode on the journey and the lessons I learned. It was a mixed bag of great years, some struggles, and now coming out the other side. Quantitative finance is a wild ride and never the same for any two professionals.

I agree!
Watched this and 30-years video. Very inspiring story! I'm glad for you enjoying your time on the current job, wish it will be like that in the future as well. And also hope that more people will discover your channel, it's really helpful!
Great video! Love the insight into IC vs Management benefits and cons.

Thanks!
hello, I have a question regarding time series analysis. I have learned some basic regression analysis and want to learn more. I see that some people are using differential equations instead of regression. can you make a video on using regression analysis vs stochastic differential equations for time series? like when would I use either one?
Hi Dmitri, hope you’re doing well. Curious how you feel about people making a career change from a non-quant field and going back for more education, taking our time to learn the math and stats background properly and going from there. I don’t half do things and I don’t accept not fully understanding what I’m doing so I’d want to learn the field as in depth as possible. Would you go as far back as a bachelors in applied mathematics or something similar or jump straight into a masters program? Money isn’t an issue and I don’t mind being older than my peers. I’m verging on 30 and currently a financial planner. Looking for something much more intellectually challenging
That thumbnail. Summed up my life LOL
Hey Dmitri, is statistical modelling used more often than machine learning in quant finance?

Yes. That being did, the banks have been using ML in fraud modeling for a very long time.
Do you think model development actually does make a big difference? Like that’s the key to winning in the markets?

I just recorded a video response. I'll hopefully have it out in the next few weeks.
