The Last Dance: Instructions on How to Die Well - 2 Timothy 4:6-12 - Skip Heitzig

Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote, “A grave, wherever found, preaches a short and pithy sermon to the soul.” What did he mean? Simply that cemeteries remind us of the unavoidable certainty of death. A grave should prompt us to think about our future on this earth; it’s the only real estate we’ll hold onto for a long while! The words in our text this week are among Paul’s final words. This is his last statement. Here is a man who not only lived well, but also demonstrated what it means to die well. Let’s consider how to face the end of life on this earth with no regrets.
This teaching is from the series Now Streaming with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Church.

This sermon was a real blessing to me, gave me comfort about my mortality, about staying in the race, took my mind off the way things are in this country and the world, and how, again, I am reminded that this world is not my real home, bless the Lord oh my soul and all that is within me bless His Holy name, thank you Pastor

At this moment on 2nd May 2023 at 5 am I am alone sitting by my dear Mum of 98 years. She has known the Lord as her Saviour since childhood. My Mum Adeline is dying and maybe today will be her day of departure. Thank you for the encouragement that as we leave this life instantaneously we will be in the presence of Our Lord. Mum you can depart in peace and will hear that Well done.. She has been faithful, she has loved so many ,prayed for so many and fought the fight and is indeed finishing well. Even though she has been bed bound for last 7 months even in that time she has formed a close bound with a young man from India who has left Uk to go to Country of Georgia but she has witnessed to him and prayed with him and for him right up to 2 days ago when she had a stroke so she cannot speak..bearing fruit even to her old age...may we all determine to be in the good fight right to the end. Amen.

Pastor, I survived an aortic dissection. They replaced my aorta but couldn't risk repairing the dissection that runs from my aorta to my right knee. I worry all the time that my heart or dissection will rupture at any moment.. scared all the time. Tears everyday. Please pray for me Pastor!!

There is a lucky generation of people that will not taste physical death. I am talking about those who are alive when the rapture takes place. They will do an end-run on the grave.

In Islam, if you die as a martyr(attempting to kill infidels) you get 72 virgins in paradise.
