The LAST 30 Days Before the CFA EXAM

Here are my tips for what you need to do and how you need to study in the final review 30 days before the CFA exam. If you do these things you will almost certainly increase your chance of passing the exam. I share what I did in the last 30 days before each level of the CFA exam, and then offer my advice on if I would do it similarly again. The final 30 days before the CFA exam are the most important so if you study smart, you might just pass!

    Thanks for this. Seen a couple of your videos but this got me to subscribe. I have 30 days left. Original plan was to just review each chapter and then leave a week for practice exams. Turns out reviewing each chapter is taking longer than I had expected. I’ll follow your advice and just start solving as many practice exams as I can. Cheers.

    Just took the 2and mock from the CFA institute. 63%! Frustrating. Gives me hope though that you got up to 74% which seems totally doable. Not sure if I can get in 12 exams though. I hope to get in 5. I seem to spending a ton of time reviewing the questions on the mock exam. It helps in preparing my formula sheet which I will start memorizing later this week. Man, I hope they allow passing under 70% , it seems very daunting. Thanks for this!

    Recently CFA has announced that it might be cancelled the December exam paper - based in some countries. I actually don't know for the candidates this is good news or bad news regarding passing the exam, because in some way I have the perspective that when you have more questions the probability of passing is higher. What do you think about this? Do you think it will be easier or more diffucult? Additionally, could you make a video for tips or your view about what candidates of June 2020 exam should do for passing the exam, now that we have to do the exam in Frebuary 2021? In my case I started studying on December 2019 and stopped at March 2020 and then started again in July 2020 and I stopped one month due to some other exams I had to take. So I have since now until February to study, but I must review many things because I don't remeber many things I studied at the beginning of the year.

    Hi Straight Talks, Hope you're well! Level 2 candidate here seeking some personal advice. I've used Mark M for my studying, and I believe I'll be able to finish all content by mid October. I'm looking to understand how the best utilise the remaining month and a half to the exam, and from the video above, I've come to the below strategy: Spend 3 weeks to a month or so reviewing the content + doing practise questions, and then the last 2/3 weeks, doing mocks every day. Quick question - what question bank did you use to do practise questions leading up to the exam, and do you believe it was a good reflection of the questions that appear on exam day? If you had to recommend a thorough prep provider who provides a question bank that will nearly reflect the exam on the day, who'd it be? The plan is to use the CFAI QBank (ofc!), but I find MM's QBank not so much a reflection of CFAI type questions... Thanks for reading!

  • @straighttalks-ajsrmek323

    @straighttalks-ajsrmek323

    I would not spend much time reviewing information. Only go back to the info if you get a practice question wrong and need an explanation. I used Wiley Qbank. It wasn't that much like the exam questions, but it as still helpful.

    Hello, with 30 days to exam I originally thought it would be best to only do two mock exams and fill in the days between each with practice questions; because you get to review them as you go, whereas during exam you don’t know if you get an answer right or wrong until at the end. Your advice, however, about taking a lot more intrigues me; can you please provide an advantage to using the next 30 days and cramming 5-7 exams vs 2 (with indepth review). I just struggle to see where time would allow for me to do in depth review if I jump from mock to mock. Thank you in advance 🙏🏽

I just didn’t want to take exams for 10 years which is why I switched paths). Anyways, I’m going to speed read the whole book and answer new questions on each section before starting book 2.
