"What do you do to de-stress?" "Oh, the usual. Play with my dog, draw, play video games, and watch jellyfish swim with the sound of water in my headphones."

The jellyfish facts were amazing in itself, but even more so in how relaxing the video was. Loved it!
Sound of water in the video soothes the soul. Thank you BBC.

@Arna Cook i have done research and as it turn out these moon jellyfish only appear large in relation to the golden jellyfish, ie the golden jellyfish is only around 5 inchs while, moon jellys can range from 2-15 inchs, so i would take a guess the moon jellys in this video are around 10-15 inchs, which is large compared to the goldens but not as "giant" as i thought but non the less an interesting read, so thank you for the suggestion to "do my own research" and i hope you learnd somthing new as well.
Very surprised to see a jellyfish turn upside down. Wondering how it "learned" to flip itself for food, and if there is any level of awareness.

Jellyfish are the ones that are upside down. Their relatives and they themselves when in polyp form, are tentacles up. As for this species' behavior, it's inherited instinct, not learned behavior.

Also, they have no brain and function entirely on basic impulse - can't navigate, can't respond to danger, can't escape if they get stuck. They're closer to being plants, behaviourally, only...faster.

The most advanced moment behavior from jellyfish is following food and swarming together. It’s not completely know if they swarm simply because of food concentration and sea conditions but they do move actively.
Very beautiful
Wow! They evolved to be filter feeders. Fascinating! That's why the water is so clear and the plants are lush.

Am I the only one who wants to strangely touch/hug jellyfish just because of the way they look?
AMAZING.
When your stressed, sit, relax and enjoy the nice soothing sounds of Jellyfish Lake.
Wow!!! There’s a similar lake in Palau! I wish people at Coral Reef Center can study these as well to see the similarities in species, habitat, etc... it would be cool to see the results! Super amazingggg!!!!
According to most comments, people found it calming and relaxing. Perhaps it was the sounds we heard when we were still in the womb? I found it very calming too.
I saw this at a huge dome-cinema in the 90's. One of many factors in my youth that triggered my interest in biology, science and so forth. Today im what some people would call a sommelier of sorts.
This is the most calming video i've seen in my life.
What beauty and peace. Thank you BBC for continuing to take our eyes and ears to the far corners of the world.
I want this as a screen saver
The bond is real. Happy Valentines day♥️
BBC Earth beautiful works. I have swam with Jellyfish before and got Stung by the little ones (shape of coin).
They look like the most fire buds ever.
Jelly fishing, jelly fishing! We love jelly fishing!
Wonderful camera work just mindblowing 💙💙💙😍
I absolutely adore BBC Earth! my son and I watch everyday as of late. We love them all especially the water related ones. Your footage of the jellyfish was awesome you showed us every angle it felt like we were there. Keep up the good work all involved we look forward to many more years! xo I so believe we are addicted lol.
This is therapy
Apparently some moon jellies got trapped in there, too. They must still be eating their regular fare, while the golden jellies somehow took up the symbiotic relationship with the algae.
Thankyou for sharing!
I enjoyed this very much
Wow so Healing
The audio of this video is very relaxing
Fantastic nature sounds without the damn music . Congratulations on an excellent video
A safe heaven for them to florish!
beautiful!
I hadn't gotten very far into this when soporific popped into my head!!!---And the over/under shot was freaky!
that was some nice ASMR
If there was a jellyfish channel on cable tv the world would be a happier place. ♥️
4:28 looks like chicken with ranch in the middle👀
I can’t believe how they get by. Incredible the lengths life will go to strive!
The sound is so relaxing 🥰
Great video! Very calming and peaceful
Thanks for great video! So relaxing. My cat watched and listened for the whole 10 minutes =)
Over time this will become its own species. It will have drifted so far genetically from their salt water counterparts they will likely look entirely different.

Over one million jellyfish. The title begs the question, just who had to count these things? Is that a BBC intern job or what?

I know we criticize you guys for the 2 min videos, but this could’ve been one of them
That the jellyfish has survived millions of years without brains has given lots of hope to humans 😂😂 Jokes apart, awesome and marvellous video 🙏😇😇
golden jellyfish and moon jellyfish
Sadly many years ago I photographed a dead jellyfish on the beach, little or nothing left of it, after being pecked by a gull, but alive they're beautiful.
Thank you very much. good

Good to know. I didn't realize there were other lakes with stingless jellyfish. I only knew of the one in Palau.
Wowowowoowowowowowowowowowowowowowow It's so awesome !!!!

so you can swim in that lake, no? since they've lost their sting

هذا خلق الله فأروني ماذا خلق اللذين من دونه
There are no predators, knowing how defenseless these jellyfish have become it feels a bit unusual.
Reminds me of spamming habugen to my opponent back in the old day on arcade dingdong machine
These are pretty jellyfish
🙏🙏🙏
How do you know they adapted from hunter to farmer? They told you? Lol. Relaxing video though. Love the ocean. Just beautiful. Relaxing asmr.
They have a lake just like this in Palau on Eil Malk Island.

Kakaban island, right?
There is an uncanny beauty to the way they move. Such a shame they're so unpleasant to touch!
Excellent Video BBC Earth 🇮🇳🙂🙂🙂🙂
i wonder, all those muscles contractions that they use to swish their side parts around must cost a lot of energy. that algae must be quite efficient at turning water and co2 into sugars. even when they're laying upside down on the bottom, they keep flapping. i wonder if they're stuck, or if the flapping is to push more water over the algae so that it can get the co2 it needs for photosynthesis
Superr
Tantas? ! Qual a repercussão de tantas medusas perante as outras espécies?? Este lago é um paraíso para estas espécies estranhas e intrigantes...parecem de outro mundo!!
Wonder what it tastes like 😋
Amazing in terms of evolution although they are not the pioneer in that ability. To observe a phenomenon like this is another thing! BBC always!
Why do these jellyfish sound like they are swimming on the surface of water??😂😂
That very large clear jellyfish looks like a different species from the smaller amber jellyfish. Can you clarify? Thank you for beautiful video.
I wanna swim there 😭
“....WITH ONE MILLION JELLYFISH! But we’re gonna show you like 2 for the first half”
evovled from a single cell by pure unguided chance!! seriously
Looks like that wired oyster mushroom!
