The LAKAN Balisong

Фильм және анимация

"Lakan" is a title used by pre-Hispanic Filipino nobility in the islands of Luzon which means "Paramount Ruler", a rank considered to be equivalent to that of "Rajah".
"Lakan" balisong is a design variation of my first balisong build, the Rajah" balisong.
The most obvious alteration is the materials used for the housing construction and bolsters. The Rajah balisong has brass housing and bolsters while the Lakan balisong is now with a slimmer stainless skeleton-type housing and bolsters.
Although obvious changes are made to the handle design, the Lakan balisong retains the original overall blade profile with minimal alterations to fit the slimmer handle design. the overall length is 32 cm, the 14 cm blade is made from 5160 steel, ground flat with a micro bevel, differentially hardened using oil as a quenchant and tempered to straw color.
"Lakan" balisong is a long overdue custom project for a gentleman who had been very patient and remained eager for this piece to be built and handed to him finally after two years.
