I agreed that T-ara could have chosen All Kill as their title track which shows their T-ara side, but showing Tiki Taka express their abilities as the "Chameleons of K-pop" by experimenting new things and adding it to their own music. I'm glad that they're back. It's possible that they might make another comeback this summer as well.

From my perspective T-ARA played safe and I appreciated this strategy. They made two songs in which they showed the past and the future. They are no girl crush, no noise, they are feminine, mature and they know their place in history. TIKI TAKA: This is the past that is perfectly renewed with modern sound without betraying the T-ara melodic style. As a fan of T-ara and of the "old" k-pop I only see in this clip a statement.: " We are back, we made part of this music phenomena and we want to show to the younger generation how a MV was made in the past with the glamour of the present." If you look at the editing and directing is the clasic k-pop style. No mad transitions, no noisy effects, just strong shots and focus centered on the charisma of the members. ALL KILL: This is a present for the fans. If you are a fan you cannot recognize the Day by Day and Cry Cry background instrumental. You cannot ignore the original k-pop rap that was dramatic. This is absolutely a journey in the past. I think that the title is kinda' symbolic: "it is an all kill for our fans that loved the melodic style, that cinematografic storytelling the powerfull electronic sound. I'm happy that are back and I think that this is just a survey for the real comeback. As I saw this two songs and the ending were beside T-ara name are their names, I think that in 2022 we can hope at a big surprise with an extended formula closer to the original one. Maybe I'm wrong but this is what I think.....

T-ara's songs were my early teens and hearing just the intro for All Kill took me back to the days when I was just beginning to get into kpop and their group caught my interest. I kinda prefer All Kill better than Tiki Taka mostly because it has more of the T-ara vibe similar to Day by Day and generally just stuck to my head better. Thank you so much for reacting to their new releases, PD. You always manage to give reactions to groups I adore regardless if they're popular or not 😂 I am a happy subscriber ♥

The fact that "ALL KILL" strongly gave off the T-ARA vibe even with the two other original members absent is a testament to the strength of T-ARA's signature sound. Kudos to the composers as well, who have been working with the girls since their debut song "Lies". I also strongly agree with the other comments stating that ALL KILL picks up exactly where "Day by Day" left off.

T-ARA got me into kpop back in 2014. This comeback is hands down my favorite comeback of the year. They went through so much and coming back after so long feels so god damn good and it's such a special moment. I finally got the album today and it's a pretty cool coincidence for you to drop a video just now too, I'm quite excited to see your reaction 😁 Edit: Those are some good recommendations but cmon man, how can you miss songs like Cry Cry, Sexy Love, Day by Day and Roly Poly. Those are just classics that probably every T-ARA fan adores. Edit2: Damn I did not expect so much criticism and I definitely did not expect a 9 after all of it. I was honestly kinda ready to throw sum hands if you gave it less then a 9 lol. Jokes aside though, I appreciate your view as someone who's got experienced in this sphere. I for sure did not see almost any of your criticisms throughout the many times I watched the video. As you said it's a really gorgeous music video and those are just some "nitpicks" that I guess you need a trained eye to see. And also, of course, All Kill..This song just instantly takes you back from the first listen. Even T-ARA themselves said during the making of this album, when they got asked if they wanted to go with something new or just their classic sound, that they wanted to do both, and sure enough we got both and I can't get enough of it. Tiki Taka hits that perfect spot that I needed filled and I like it a little bit more as well but All Kill just blasts me away with nostalgia. The closest to it from their discography is Day by Day which is also one of my all time favorite T-ARA songs so if you liked All Kill, there's no way you won't like that one as well. Anyway, overall, not quite the reaction I expected. As I said I did not expect so much criticism but I'm still satisfied. Keep up the good work PD 😁

T-ara will forever and always remain my favorite girl group of all time, and this comeback was everything I wanted. I miss the other members, but the sound is still here and that at least brings me comfort. I love All Kill too, it's so perfectly their style that it feels like I'm taking a trip down memory lane. It actually reminded me a little of the Day By Day/Sexy Love eras, with their sweeping epic 15-20 minute MVs. I'm sad we'll probably never get that again, but at least we have this comeback to bring back the memories.

Now they are having a real good time performing on the showcase to the queen's and they even laugh out loud while performing and that's so lovely. All kill ia so t-ara I really love that and you described the sensation I had when I first listened to tiki taka: how can this be so long and still seems to be so fast lol. Also the ending was kinda weird when I first listened to it but just like you on the second time I was so into it haha. I really enjoy you actually explain so many technical things I can I'm fact see but I don't know what so I feel like that, just like when you explained about the shots filmed differently and the pause and blur that's so cool to know that.

I agree with everything that you've said and if you get a chance to watch their little documentary with Dingo, they managed to get into contact with their old producers (Lies, Cry-Cry, and Day by Day), their older dance team (Lachica), as well as their staff came back to work and support the girls. Including their old manager who came to help out and visit during their fan meeting, even though they've been contracted to another company. The did pay for majority of this on their own with an investment from Dingo which is why their content is being released through Dingo. I'm so proud that they were able to do this comeback and do this for their fans. Their little docu series with dingo shows how passionate they were about working on this together, and they've said at their fan meeting that they're going to try again next year with another comeback, so I can't wait for that too!

T-ARA remains my favorite Kpop group, and their extensive discography is astounding. Even their lesser known songs are among the greatest in Kpop. Among them are Musica Musica, Lucky Wannabe, Target, Beautiful Sniper, etc. For me their towering achievements are Number 9 and Sugar Free. The ultimate irony of their career is they recorded a lot of their greatest music during the time they were being subjected to torment from fans because of the scandal.

I actually have the same opinion regarding the MV! Thought the pace of the first half of it didn't go as well with the song like the 2nd half did. It's true that once you listen to the song only again, you appreciate it more. Tiki Taka is honestly a nice song to groove to when you're on a drive lol. All Kill is actually their other title track but it doesn't have an MV, but they released a live mv through Dingo as well. Fyi, All Kill is actually doing much better on digital charts since it literally screams T-ara lmao. They worked with their old hitmakers Cho Youngsoo & Ahn Youngmin for that, so that's why. Also, from what I know Dingo co-produced this comeback for them. But yes they actually did fund all the preparations themselves with the help of their ex-staffs from MBK. According to them, Qri coordinated their schedules, Jiyeon sourced out the choreo from Lachica, Hyomin linked them up for styling/photoshoots & Eunjung was in charge of the fanmeeting concert they had recently. They all worked so hard for this it's so impressive for them really.

I WAS WAITING HAHA I agree with you pd tiki taka sounds different than what they usually do but they're just more on the nowadays modern kpop sound but somehow they still manage to keep THAT specific sound that's T-ARA. And in contrast we also have All-Kill that has that old classic sound especially with Eunjung's rap and the drum/kick? idk what it's called lol and it's so similar to their other song Day By Day (which I do recommend if you like All-Kill btw). And with just these two songs T-ARA shows that they truly can do any genre and still has their sound to it. And I love them for that!!

Also, this comeback kind of went on the down-low since the members don't have an agency behind them at all (the members are all currently free agents, besides Eunjung, who is signed with an acting label), and since they used their personal funds for this comeback I was wondering if you would notice anything particular as a result of that! :o I think that "Tiki Taka" being the title track is interesting because it has a more modern, mature sound mixed with the T-ara colour, while "All Kill" is like the "follow-up" that's more like classic T-ara. In a way, it kind of parallels with SHINee, who released "Don't Call Me" (a very big shake-up to their usual sound) and then followed that up with "Atlantis" (which was much more like classic SHINee, if you will) ;o Personally, I think it was a very bold decision for "Tiki Taka" to focus more on the sentimentality of their vocals especially in today's age of dance/performance-centric K-pop, and it actually reminded me of your comment about Brave Girls being trained to sing in a particular manner that's not in practice so much these days, and it made me wonder if perhaps the T-ara members were also trained in that way and therefore are using that to add to their selling points :o Also yup not even PD was immune to the surprising end of the outro, it got everyone XD

If I have to choose one between those 2 masterpieces I'll say All Kill because it reminds me a lot of Day by day, my favorite T-ara song of all time. I really appreciate their work and I'm really glad that they're back, that they still have their color and i'm LIVING this year with all these awesome comebacks from old school kpop groups

I still remember on my journey to go back and discover previous generation songs in kpop. I ‘found’ Day by Day and I by Taeyeon the same day. If I wasn’t hooked before, I certainly was then.

PD, I just discovered your channel and I'm loving all of your content. Your reactions are so genuine, yet full of knowledge and insights. I'm not sure if you have a video on this, but would you be interested in talking about the general differences between western and k-pop production? Like what makes a song have that k-pop vs western sound. It would be awesome if you could summarise this in a video and give us some examples.

I'm hoping t-ara starts doing their mvs like they did in the past with story heavy style it. Those were amazing. All kill's beginning reminds me of their song day by day. I would lovvve if they did a review or reaction to T-ara's day by day drama version mv. Please!

Would love to see you do a few more T-ara reactions. For me, the early Shinsadong Tiger disco pop of Roly Poly / Lovey Dovey / Sexy Love etc. are hard to beat. Got to say I think their sound has always been lacking without Soyeon’s vocals.

I like all kill more because well I've been a queen since their debut and all kill sound nostalgic .. tiki taka is a combination of the the older and new gen ,in an interview ,the producer asked what they wanted, they said they wanted to combine their old sound and the modern sound to appeal to younger people.. And oh how i miss eunjung with short hairbut well she looks pretty now, so i bet no mc gonna talk about how long hair doesn't go well with her like before xD

Thank you for your reaction. Love both songs. I loved All Kill right away better than Tiki Taka. But after listening Tiki Taka many more times, I believe they live up to their name of chameleon of Kpop as they went for something different but has still T-ara charm and catchy song that it’s stuck in my head. My children loved Tiki Taka more too because it’s more modern and it fits to their generation.

Great return and nice songs but T-ara is a group concept. I just think as good as they sound, that adding Park Soyeon back in the group would put them back into the realm of supergroup. I don't know if all the group members want that even but I just have to say I miss her main vocals in the middle of things.

Idk if it's true that their budget for everything, from MV to the song itself came from their pockets so I didn't expect them to do high-budget MV. Tiki Taka's antidrop could be something for me. Also, the guitar part in chorus just made it feel sadder tho. All Kill probably clears what is lacking in Tiki Taka. How we wish they just keep their own sound as their lead single.

T-ara is an odd group for me because their sound is really not my sound (too upbeat pop, I guess I'd say), but I downloaded a couple albums many years ago on a whim to get to know them and the songs grew on me. I'm not familiar with their MVs because of that; they're one of the few groups I didn't explore through KZread and videos. I was excited to see them back because, c'mon, they're a classic. It's always nice to see the old groups return even if I don't exactly love them or follow them. Edit: I had to pause this and go watch Day by Day. Honestly my favorite part was the fight scene in the middle-ish with the heavy rock 😅 Neither of these really spoke to me but I think I like Tika Taka more. The concept for All Kill is really good but it's a little too soft and slow for me. It's a song, like Day by Day, that I wouldn't seek out to listen to but wouldn't skip if it came on while I was doing something else.
