The song is explained in their teasers favourite story..its actually a tale of Jaehyun who became a vampire fall in love with a human..since he live longer than human..he visits the girls dream everytime but as a different form(the members) to change their ending of the story but unfortunately it ended the same..knowing the story behind gives me chills everytime I hear the song.. At the end it ties with NCT overall concept Which evolves around DREAM..as expected from SM which always stick to their concept..

I‘ve noticed this trend in other sm groups like aespa, too. I love how they make it sound nostalgic but futuristic at the same time! This one in particular kinda gave me Infinite vibes. The way the chorus is so dramatic and longing, especially when those marching drums came in.

@@SoEul122 I was definitely thinking them too! 2AM had more of the ballads, but 2PM definitely had some of the vibe. And MBLAQ and groups like SS501 or BEAST continued the angsty emo vibe into the pop era.

"Jungwoo looks like a mermaid" is such a mood personally, favorite is my most favorite one and thankyou for really like it

the thing i love so much about NCT 127 (NCT in general tbh) is that their title tracks are different from one another that you can't really compare them with each other. Sticker is pretty much in my top 5 favorite KPOP songs this year and i was kind of nervous how Favorite will deliver but they did it again !! they really never fail to impress me omg 😭

It’s the joint chorus that really hits me. The melody is so filled with emotion and impact and when the drums come in the second half it almost makes me cry.

Favorite gives me literal CHILLS! I am absolute Sticker trash and Sticker is my standard and I wasn't sure if 127 could beat themselves with this repack title track but they proved me wrong. This song is so good and ties in perfectly with the rest of the songs on the album and is giving us some things that we were missing in 4th gen kpop. Great video PD and I'm awaiting your Kingdom Karma and Black Crown reaction! 🙏

They ate this song up like it was a buffet. They did a phenomenal job with this. It was captivating and sultry. You get drawn into the heartache they convey. And you get emotional when they sing the lyrics in this. The climax was just so beautiful. Now I'm wondering if with their story were they vampires the whole time and then reveal their 'true self' in Favorite. Cause before from their origin I thought they were clones, machines or robots (something along that line) but, looking at all the lyrics from their past videos now I'm not so sure they were clones or machines, they always talked about darkness, shadows, daylight, moonlight, speed, thirst, trauma, no limit, revealing their 'True Self' in their lyrics and all their songs to now fit vampires, they always had a mystery and mysterious vibe. Idk I'm just thinking out loud. Don't mind me. I may not make sense, lol

Now, we know that NCT 127 are vampires lol Wow...I love how you are conveying their songs story and their whole concept according to their past songs and vibe. I'm sure it's only NCT 127 who are vampires because they probably are the only unit that talked about moonlight, darkness, speed, thirst, in their past songs, and mysterious vibe. NCT Dream, their songs and vibe are bright and they mainly talks about future, growing up, and becoming teenagers. NCT U doesn't have a fixed concept. WayV talks about future as well, pilot, fly away, and yeah.

FYI: The concept and the storyline were revealed during the pre-promotion via their Instagram. They released sets of short video clips, photos, and a short fiction novel to announce their concept. It was about a vampire who keeps dreaming to meet his lover who died in the past. He keeps trying to change things to keep her alive, but it's a dream -- he always wakes up. So fans knew that they were going to be vampires who lost their loved ones and are living in regrets and pain. 127 members have been openly showing their confidence with the song too!

As part of their teaser schedule, they released a "Story of Favorite" where they told part of a story about a face changing vampire (face changing meaning each member took turns being the main character/narrator) who falls desperately in love but ultimately loses their beloved so we were all led to believe that they were the vampire. But as the mv shows, it's the opposite with them being the ones already/pleading to be turned. I haven't stopped listening to this song since it was released yesterday and it STILL gives me goosebumps. It's that good. And no, thankfully the dubstep dance break isn't a part of the actual track. Favorite was composed by the great Kenzie and it's another brilliant hit that you must listen to at max volume to feel all the feels 🙌 I also recommend "Love on the Floor"!! It's a damn bop.

Honestly, for NCT I try not to have any expectations anymore. Like I try to go in on a blank slate because you really never know with them! I enjoy that more because Im always pleasantly surprised with what they bring. PD high key simping on every member is a mood 🤣

that scream at 14:15 is SUCH A MOOD!!!! the chorus is super great, and I genuinely enjoyed every second of the song

Because to be honest, whenever NCT gives us music, everything is different- like a new dish. They do not settle for the same beat or rhythm. They provide us new and experimental music that will reset the culture. Also, PD, thank you for always hyping the boys, especially Jungwoo!

I love this chorus sooooo much!!! It sounds like a very beautiful but tragic romance kdrama, which touched my heart so much and I just cant stop listening to it again and again. My all-time favorite NCT127 title track is 'Superhuman' as well. 'Favorite' hit me as hard as 'Superhuman' but in a totally different way. Now these two are both my fav NCT127 title tracks! Btw I looooove this vampire theme and Jaehyun just looks like a vampire prince!

Love to see another "Superhuman" fans. That masterpiece is grossly underrated. The song has SM signature all over it and it couldn't have been more perfect. Reminds me a lot of SHINee.

One of their best comebacks I mean tbh NCT never disappoints in my opinion and I've always loved how they aren't afraid to be experimental, but Favorite is seriously such a damn masterpiece and has a nostalgia feel to it and I adore the concept and the choreo is absolutely fire like starting of with the hip thrusts sooo dangerous but even like the main choreo is sooo pleasing to the eye and different from anything I've seen before, I seriously never get tired of these boys.

This song's music producer is a genius. I feel like we've heard a lot of trendy/hollywood-style music from basically all the k-pop groups this year. Adding early 2000 vibes to the chorus gives us a beautiful, nostalgic feeling!

At 12.30 that's actually taeil leading the chorus! Sm often show other people during his lines so people get confused, but its actually taeil leading that chorus not yuta!

In summary, the "Story of Favorite" (the videos on Instagram) is actually very tragic. It talks about the main vampire (Jaehyun) who changes his appearances (the other members) when going on dates with the person they like. The person doesnt know they are a vampire until the vampire (Mark) tells them and they accept their identity. After going on more dates, the vampire (Jungwoo) asks them to stay with him forever and gives them a necklace -supposedly making them immortal just like the vampire. However, they end up rejecting the vampire (Taeil) by the smybolism of a blue rose (meaning impossible). It turns out that all the times NCT 127 (besides Jaehyun) goes on dates is all a dream. In reality, it was never like that even though Jaehyun desperately wanted to be with the person he loves. Roses are a HUGE thing in the MV and story. It's why roses are in the dance break and when Haechan deteriorates. Each NCT 127 member has a rose tattoo on their wrist when they go on their dates. In many of those dates, the vampire gives the person a rose: red (passion and love), yellow (friendship and joy), and white (unrequited love). The person ends up giving them a blue rose at the end though 🥲

Doyoung’s visual in this Mv was unreal like the part where he was at the cliff fit so well with the vampire aesthetic ! He fit the royals concept so good too !!

NCT 127 always gives an amazing repackaged title track and I love that they always fit perfectly with the album's tt ❤ Favorite is fantastic.

At 14:18 when you screamed you loved this chorus, that is exactly how I felt!! This song is sooo good!! And JAEHYUN. Sheesh.

Sticker grew on me and I enjoy listening to it quite often. Favorite I loved it instantly, the way it goes higher and higher, the choreo, the visual… blew it out of the park. I thought they’ve just had a comeback, my expectations were lower, but absolutely loved it. Mesmerising indeed

favorite has a very different vibe to sticker, but it's SO GOOD. i think overall i still prefer sticker bc of the attitude, but these two title tracks are both masterpieces

the dance break is only in the MV, I'm pretty sure. But there is a short story that comes before this on their instagram that leads into this sort of? But I loved seeing you excited for this. I have been loving this song so much since it dropped.

Does it explain the militant-dub step dance break? 😄 It feels sooo out of place, so I'm wondering if there's a reason for it story-wise. (haven't seen a translation for the IG story)

THE AMAZING THING ABOUT THIS SONG IS WE REALLY FEEL THE PAIN IN THE SONG EVEN WHEN WE DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE TRANSLATION/MEANING OF IT. That's what I feel when I listened to this song on my first listen. I FEEL UNEASY, that's INCREDIBLE.

it's actually teased that favorite will be kinda romantic-tragic from the teasers! it's about Jaehyun a vampire who lives through lives as other members while always falling in love with the same girl, hence The Favorite Girl :D

Actually that's not exactly what it was. It was A vampire trying to make the woman he loves keep loving him by trying to do anything it takes and switching between personas but she can always see through it and he can never be exactly what she wants and that's why we see Jaehyun nostalgic and reminiscing about their time together at the start and end. it was all a memory. The sea was a metaphor of him not being able to give her what she wants hence why they could never go to the sea together.

This is a real SM classic bop with Neo sound! I think every single group in SM could've slayed it but I'm glad that they gave it to NCT

I think why this song feels special to me is because the whistles I think are sampled from the Bollywood song “Are re are” from the movie dil to pagal hai, as a desi person it made me soo happy

Loved Favorite the first listen. I loved Sticker too but it grew on me steadily! Favorite brought back soooooo much nostalgia for me, really reminded me of kpop back in 2nd gen 😭 The visuals were insane too!!

SM really wants me to go broke before I even reach my mid twenties 🤧 I honestly really really loved this song so much, I feel what you say about the romancing concept, like they’re serenading us, my heart literally skips a beat whenever the whistle starts

I definitely agree that, although Superhuman is also my favorite 127 title track, Favorite has that seductive element that pulls you listen to it again.

The first 7 seconds of the "whistle" melody sounds familiar/nostalgic (NSync's It's Gonna Be Me chorus) and I really like sad romantic songs with dance track. This is my instant favorite NCT127 title track because of the melody, chorus and lyrics plus the "whistle" part really makes it memorable.

Doyoung kept on saying that there are 2 versions one with the dance break which is the MV and one without which the official audio, I think. He must have not liked that part, actually it throw me off too. Other than that, the song is brilliant.

So glad this came out so quick, I love this track

it's SO good and they've also said they love the song so much. And Taeyong spoiling it will give 'Back 2 U' vibes... it really did give that dramatic desesperate feeling that matches their vocal ranges SO WELL. i'm so so so happy with this comeback and with the repackage in general.
