Nice to see an eastern Ontario dealer promoting the B2401. We've had ours over a year now, through 2 winters and love it. Couple of points: 1) it has power steering (mentioned in the manual) just different from the HST models, in that it is a direct mechanical linkage with hydraulic assist. The advantage is there's no delicate cylinder in front of the front axel to get dented by rocks, like the HST models. 2) when using a snowblower, just shift straight to neutral with a quick jab of the clutch to stop but keep the blower running.

I’ll take the gear any day over hydrostatic, pto works better to me with releasing the clutch slowly and the tractor is stronger

No, you don`t and that is really a shame. Such a cool tractor, but it is easy to understand why there aren't many out there compared to the hydrostats. Still, I really kinda want one ;)

Wow that's a pretty mixed bag of useful and frustrating features especially the clutch for things like front/rear implements like tillers or blowers. Thanks for showing it off. I know what I'm avoiding on my next tractor :)

I agree an independent PTO or dual-stage clutch would be nice but I've found I can shift from gear into neutral with a quick blip of the clutch so as to keep the PTO powered.

I'm old school and much prefer manual transmission. I just got rid of my 2018 John Deere 3025e hydrostatic. Transmission squall and/or whiny sound was loud, louder than the Yanmar engine. I hah trouble with the electric PTO, I also had troubles with blown fuses. Manual is better in my opinion. But no power steering would be a deal breaker for me. Other than that I'd burn one. With a loader, Kubota should've put power steering oi it.

The clutch and shifter in the city are now considered anti-theft devices. Yep.

Interesting that the backhoe subframe is different from the other B01s. I guess because the different transmission changes the clearances underneath?

The local dealer seems to sell quite a few of these to the local Apple orchards. I didn’t realize that this model didn’t come with power steering, but not I certainly think that I wouldn’t want one with a loader! Probably perfect for small ag applications though.

I have a B2401 and it definitely has power steering. It uses the main hydraulic pump so you feel it if trying to turn and lift the bucket at the same time. In the parts catalog, the hydraulic steering assembly is J10100. What it does not have is tilt steering. I'm 6ft and I find it's in the perfect position anyway.
