The real problem is with the attitude of current players.... I mean these youngsters are overloaded with too many things and their stomachs are full.... So they don't know what is the meaning of discipline, difficulty etc. Anil Kumble grew up playing cricket by working hard... He is an old styled, disciplined person.... So what's wrong if he questioned those Bollywood mentality cricket players?? The present day players are T20 class players, with Bollywood mentality..... Even a minnow player can humiliate seniors like Mohinder Amarnath, Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble etc.... Come on, this is cricket..... Not movie industry.... Anil Kumble instructed few players to concentrate more on Cricket and utilize their talent.... Anything wrong?? Anil Kumble played Test cricket till the age of 38..... He took more than 600 test wickets and it shows how fit he was..... He has more than 900 International wickets under his belt. Can any present day player play Test cricket like Anil Kumble did?? All T20 class players...... Let these players join Bollywood instead of spoiling the image of Cricket..... No one is fit enough to play 5 days Test match..... These players are talking about someone like Anil Kumble?! Anil Kumble is well educated, hard working, disciplined, great achiever and the greatest match winner for India.... A living legend. The present day players would love to have some Bollywood hero or heroine as their head coach. Cricket is no more Cricket..... Both Rahul and Mayank are Bangalore boys & they listen to Kumble's words with good respect .... That's why both of them are performing well. For other players, Preity Zinta should coach....

Basically all these new age players are soft, they can’t handle tough criticism. They have gotten too used to the glamor and lights and forgot about the struggle.

Appointing Shastri as a coach basically means allowing players to do their things. Kumble is a strict disciplinarian and demands high standards from players. Shastri on the other hand is a YES MAN of Virat Kohli. Shastri will never challenge and try to undo my decision of Kohli and Kohli often get things wrong in playing 11 selections which could have been avoided under Kumble.

Shastri wasn't any different from what John wright was with Ganguly & Kristen when Dhoni was coach. Ganguly himself said Cricket is a captain's game, it's not like football where manager decides. Funnily Kumble was extremely similar to Greg Chappell whom senior players fell out with. Yet Indian fans supported likes of Sehwag, Sachin, Ganguly etc & vilified Chappell even after Sehwag openly admitting he refused to listen Chappell's advice on moving his foot in training ground arrogantly. Yet Indian fans are hailing Kumble as Martyr & Kohli n players as villains here. Unbelievable level of hypocrisy there. Kumble was given the post only because his buddies were choosing.

He was the greatest Batman of 70s & early 80s with Gavaskar & faced the greatest fast bowling in the history of cricket without helmet & maintained a better test average than even the legendary Gavaskar who was playing in the same era. Greg Chappell wanted to make our lethargic Indian team of mid 2000s a world class side in terms of fielding & fitness on par with likes of Aus & SA, most of the senior players who were fat, slow & mediocre in that department as well as out of shape took an offense to that, he wanted to make someone like Sehwag better in terms of playing Swing, he tried to train Sehwag to improve his footwork to tackle his problem, Sehwag straight up refused Chappell's attempt & told him he doesn't need it & to throw him out of the team if he doesn't score. Sehwag has gone on record admitting it in interviews & literally bragged about it. Most of those stubborn senior players in the mid 00s resisted the change brought by Greg that was not convenient to them. Chappell also tried to bring younger talents like Raina into Indian team who would serve Indian cricket for years to come. Chappell was bad at man management just as Kumble was but only Chappel has been vilified by Indian media & our fans because he was an Australian outsiders, while Kohli & Indian team of 2016-17 was made the villian instead of pointing out the bad man management skills of Kumble during the time. Indian team was already doing well in all 3 formats by the time Kumble took as coach, they continued the same trend after Kumble was gone as coach, there was no difference with Kumble as coach.

@@tjpavankumar Of course senior players were not happy as he ruffled their feathers asking to put in more work, be more fitter, better athletes like Aussies & SA players, those seniors didn't like that, Sehwag out there openly saying he wouldn't move his feet & take one of the all time great batter Chappell's advise to improve himself against swinging ball. What can be more arrogant than that? Ganguly who wasn't performing for years even before Chappell became a coach was more concerned with securing his place in the team, and started mobilizing his supporters instead of bettering his performance. Chappell was a piss poor man manager, there's no denying that, but his falling out with seniors was no different than Kumble being a failed man manager & falling out with the Indian dressing room in 2017.

As a coach , sometimes he needs tobe school master.It cld be bad discipline of team .And yes we lost after that icc champions trophy as well....Ravishastri is not a man for india coach.

This informative video did not suit to the conditions back then and now .. Bisbo said that kumble was harsh on players as now recently hardik and KL Rahul controversial talk in Karan Johar episode is showing what Indian dressing room is like when players out power the seniors. I do not know weather Kohli wanted Shastri as head coatch but see the consequences of it all hatred started against cricket in India and noticibly there were no such cases in Kumble coach period. I personally feel coach has increase the potential of players and thus change a weak team to strong contender in the race but this team of Virat is best team in world and there nothing that coach have done to improve more so Kumble was a better person and a better coach than Shastri as at least he managed the behaviour of players and there are so many rumours going around Shastri . Even in Champions Trophy final Kumble asked team to bat first but because of Captain agony on Kumble elected to bowl and lost the match as a consequence... When ever one over powers other consequences arise. Neither the captain nor coach should be given more power. If someone say to be in disipline then that is good and everyone should follow. I personally feel that kumble was pointed after he asked team mates to travel in team bus but if discipline goes out of life we become another Hardik which is not acceptable. I am not against any player here I love all of them . But Indian cricket is greater than any player.

@ Choudhary Chandra was different... Bishen, EAS were excellent orthodox spinners.... But to be honest, most foreign batsmen during those days were not good players against spinners & they gave their wickets by trying to be too defensive & respectful against the spin bowlers. If the same Bedi or EAS bowled those lollipop flight deliveries today, they would have got smashed all over. But Kumble bowled against much better, improved attacking batsmen of the modern era.... Majority of his flippers & top spinners were simply unplayable & batsmen were not fools to get out LBW or bowled in Test matches. Kumble is the greatest match winning bowler of India. Which other bowler won Test matches single handedly for India between 1992-2008 on regular basis?? Except Harbhajan's heroics against the Aussies in 2001 series

Kumble as head coach is any day better for India

The current Indian team definitely needs a task master like Kumble. Only a disciplined and focused side can win tournaments. Doesn't matter how talented the players are, an arrogant captain with a puppet coach cannot win a worldcup. The Aussies had to literally rebuild the entire team after the ball tampering incident, but they endured through with the difficult times to regain their spot as the top team.

No. Let me tell you the name of a strict coach of india. Greg Chappell. Yup, seniors ki phatti ti usse, kyunki wo jyada training karwata tha, fitness par jyada jor dalta tha. If the players don't want to work with an authority then there is no point in forcing them to do so. It will only degrade their performance. Alos, most of the indian players play all 3 formats and when you are required to do so , you have to be inherently disciplined so all that bs about players not being discplined is vague. Besides, who in India's team performs apart from Kohli and Sharma these days? And occasionally Dhawan? Only because of good bowling line-up, excluding chahal, do India perform good.

Problem is coordination and ego between coach nd team. Coach role is to train the team and observe the weak spot of the player and to clear and startegy required in the game as the coach thinks out of the box. 2. As players individual popularity building up freedom leads to different directions. 3. Captiain , coach all together to travel on the same. Players are more looking to individual popularity this is leading to egoistic issues.

Being punctual and strict for the benefit of Indian cricket is not a bad thing. Kumble sir is a great sportsman and a humble human being. Kids these days never reach the level of hardwork players used to do back then. Kohli is arrogant is unfit for captaincy. No disrespect to Kohli I like him as a player rather as captain

Very few coaches left on high note in Indian cricket. Even greats like Kapil Dev, greg Chappell left with bitter end.

What about the leaked email of bcci officials which states how kumble resignation was engineered by kohli and co. And how kohli was critical about kuldeep yadav who was included in team on kholi's absence and got a 5 wicket haul...

Wow, whoever is the editor of Bisbo must be given standing ovation! Ravi Shastri in 2014--16 was successful. Lol! He lost away tour to England, lost ICC WC 2015, t20 WC 2016, and now when he has come back as coach has lost away tours in Eng, SA and won in Aus just coz their best batsmen were missing. Lost WC 2019 as well and along with destroyed careers of various talented players like Rayudu and Rahane as well as Yuvi who could have been part of this World Cup and won it for us. Such a one sided representation of a case where the perpretators are projected as heroes! As for Boria, no one gives a flying f&&& about his articles or comments. I would sleep mid way through his article.

dude all players were against kumble. Don't be an idiot. He was another greg chappel for sure. They should make kumble a heasdmaster of a highschool instead of coach.

At this time the best who can coach india is either Rahul Dravid or Anil kumble.....dis the right option for India.....

Today when I see Ajinkya Rahane as captain getting sidelined by Kohli shstri gang, you can understand it was actually kohli and not Kumble who created this mess. Kohli is an ego maniac.

Baaki international teams Tamasha dekhne jaati hai kya tournament me, sb jeetne k liye jaate hai nd no team can win every single world cup and all the teams worked hard, as per your facts then why india lost all previous world cups except Kapil's dev world cup as captain, at that time kumble nd so many players were in the team thn still they didn't won, it doesn't mean that they didn't worked hard, it means other teams were working hard, even Australia didn't won t20 2007 world cup and at that time they were the toughest team to beat but they lost match to Zimbabwe and to India

2015 cwc we never had chance. 2019 we didnt have luck clearly And 2016 it was because of few no balls

No it wouldnt. You have to realise that if Kumble was the coach now, the team would have fallen out and would have lost the world cup. Remember Greg Chappel.

@@abhishekns461 That's fine but Kumble was someone whom we cannot blame on just what Kohli says...Kumble is a gentleman and ofcourse, as Neeraj Chopra says- Hard Training is very important to achieve heights in any sports...Jo hua vo Indian cricket team jane but just on what Kohli says, we should not judge Jumbo sir's coaching technique...

Kohli and his team got criticised after the CL final loss. Instead of learning from it and improving as a captain, he got the critique sacked and hired a Yes-man. Result :- India lost the WC semifinal in a similar fashion after the top 3 failed Kohli is a great batsman who has kept on improving as a batsman. He should have the same attitude towards his job as a captain

Well maybe kumble was a bit strict compared to his contemporaries.... Once sehwag had said, "while kumble used to bowl, he used to shout at us (fielders) everytime after each ball... We were like, look there, those batsmen (opposition team) are ur opponents, sledge them Pls" but he would not sledge others.... So yeah maybe if all had that problem... It happens in every field. When someone don't want a particular man to lead him or his team..so they don't perform according to their skills. Same happend when dravid was India's captain in 2007 world cup. The whole team did not want dravid as their captain. Everyone know how was team's performance. Anil Kumble is great

Captain has a very significant role in cricket. Coach has to babysit the team at the same time be a professional mentor

Even Duncan Fletcher was a decent coach.

Kohli with a maverick attitude has spoilt the atmosphere and mentality of youngsters. Worse even such a huge population is represented by just 11 men. Time to breakup and have 3-5 international teams like UK has. Karnataka team is formidable to beat some of the current international teams.

There's no wrong in what kohli did, he just stood by his players. An established cricket team needs a coach to guide them through glory not to boss them all the way. A coach and a player should have friendship among them rather than yelling and shouting over mistakes made.
