The knife SHARPENING jig II

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hi my friends, I have posted building knife sharpening jig video in January this year. After that I received many orders and requests. So let me to introduce you the next generation of the J&O sharpening jig which I produce. The commerecial version is availalble for you. It is much more better now, I improved the design and made a lot of tests. If you wish to order just leave the message or write me an e-mail to kadlk@seznam.cz. Thank you! Meet the facbook page at: / jo-knife-sharpening-ji...

My jig arrived to Dallas, TX ten days after placing an order. The quality of the jig is superb. Craftsmanship is outstanding. Put it to a test sharpening my chef knife and the results knocked my socks off. There is no way I could have achieved the same results sharpening by hand . Great tool and thank you Mr. Kadlec.

Got it as a Christmas gift for my mum. Works super well, especially with larger knifes one achieves incredibly precise results. I recommend to start with a stretched bar and work with the stone towards the knife as you move along the edge. So basically push the stone in the direction of the knife. It is also shown in the video. This prevents the stone from being damaged by the plade as there's more control when the tip of the blade is reached. Also it is necessary to check and readjust the angle after the first stroke. Begin with a slightly larger angle then after the first stroke have a very close look at the blade and lower the angle. Repeat until it is perfect.

Got the jig delivered to Australia with no problems. Fantastic product and waaaay better than some of the more expensive sharpening jigs i have bought. I especially like the fact that you can use full size sharpening stones (just make sure you use similar thickness stones tho). Gives you fantastic razor sharp knives.

Nice craftsmanship and beautiful design. I was looking for something like this because I still want to use my old stones. Do you think the stone holder would lose stability if one would build a frame for the stone which would hold the stone on the sides? So that you could just flip the stoneholder around instead of removing the stone and reattaching it for using the other side?

Ist's a *great* piece of workmanship Michal !👌 If You're willing to listen to my advice: If You slit the holes of the "jizzle-like"clamp- that fixates the blade/knife to the wodden block ist's easier to fixate broader blades. It would also be nice if You grind a square 40x20x10mm deep into the wodden block to hold the blade with an N52 neodym magnet the same size. The advance of the more narrow whetstones, which originally came with Apex are just about 20mm wide, so You're able to sharpen koncave internal rounded blades like karambits or hand-scissels. Also is a smaller wooden stone-holder-block lighter and easier to move with less weight esp. on curved knive tips =>less pressure to the edge and tip of the blade. The quality of Your product is *way better* than the Chinese or even Lansky ones 👌👍🙋 I'd *love* if You're improving Your product to *all sizes* => width => of whetstones 20 - 100mm=> needs to slim the wooden stone-holder-block to 25mm and a carved in 60° phase into the middle of the steel stone-brackets .😉
