What a great piece. Nick and I were friends in Coronado in his later years. Always a treat to sit and have a conversation with him. An icon of music history.

This is a wonderful tribute to the Kingston Trio. I'm 78 years old and have loved their music & style for the past 75 years. They are my all time favorite group. Thank you for this awesome vodeo!

Thanks for getting these interviews. The K.T. were a daily play in our household in 1960 with myself being the leading fan. I created a guitar-based trio modeled after them with which we entertained many for a couple years. I am glad to see a PP & M performer praise them as they were competitors with a new take on folk music in 1964.

Thank you for a very interesting video. The Trio were a big part of my musical life during my teens Sadly, I never saw them live.

I was lucky to book the Trio in 1997 an 98 including John Stewart the night before... he joined them onstage for Reverend Mr. Black..I'm a musician/ entertainer and they were the inspiration from day one .... so lucky was I to hang out with them

Thanks for your comment. I myself learned to play the guitar listening to the Trio's "#16" album.

Thank You for this comprehensive look at Kingston Trio. Great to have Bob's live interviews. having Al & Tim show the influence they had on legendary groups like the Beach Boys, Eagles & Poco not to mention Peter, Paul & Mary. Though the 3 lads of America featured no bango, i bet KT was a definite influence. They would make a great subject for a video. Folk On Louis!

Well done, Mr. Robinson. Your tribute summed up The Kingston Trio quite nicely and succinctly, not overly lengthy nor abruptly short. It leaves the listener wanting more, and it will pique the curiosity of the casual listener unfamiliar with the Trio. As for my own familiarity with the Kingston Trio, I discovered them quite by accident when searching the "cut out" record bin at a music store in 1977. "The Best of The Kingston Trio Vol. 1" was in that bin for 99 cents. From that album, I was hooked.

Thank you. That was the objective. Please share and spread their message. My introduction to the trio was Tom Dooley when it was first

I wrote something but it disappeared when I clicked the arrow. Anyway, thanks for this and the interviews. It sad to see Bob Shane looking frail (and this was three years ago). I’ve loved them since my older brother bought their At Large album in about 1959. They did have a mostly happy sound that belongs more in the 50s than the 60s, but that’s ok.

When I was a teen, 20 years ago, we started a punk band and were inspired by the Kingston Trio. Now I just play country music. Glad they were so pivotal to the country genre 😂
