No…you have missed the point! The 2 parables (treasure and pearl of great value) talk of the CONDUCT OF THE BELIEVER! Jesus freely offers salvation, that is the treasure. We as believers must put to death the deeds of the flesh, to give up anything that we count as valuable (not talking about physical goods, but anything that may stand between us and God). Please read RC Ryles notes on this matter, it will take less than 5 minutes and you will have greater understanding.

@@davidlane147 Michael is correct. Look at ALL the parables, man is never the main actor. The actor in all parables is God or Christ. The point about losing everything for Christ is still valid, of course, but it is not related to this parable, in my opinion.

Jesus told Christians to pray for God's Kingdom to come and for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. God's Kingdom is a heavenly government ruled by Jesus Christ as King. Soon Jesus as King of kings will bring beautiful changes to the earth. There will be no more death, pain or sorrow on earth, Revelation 21:4,5. No more wickedness on earth, Psalms 37: 9-11; John 3:16. The righteous hearted meek ones will inherit the earth and live forever on it, Psalms 37:29; Matthew 5:5; Proverbs 2:21,22. The earth will be cultivated into a Paradise like God intended in the beginning, Genesis 1:28; Isaiah 55:11. Jesus will do on a grand scale what he did when he walked the earth including raising those who are asleep in death, John 5:28,29. There will only be one government over the earth, God's Kingdom government, Daniel 2:44. Think of the peace that will bring. In order to receive everlasting life and the blessings that God has promised, we must worship the Father with spirit and truth, John 4:22-24; John 17:3; Isaiah 42:8. Soon Jesus as King of kings will bring about God's will on earth as it is in heaven, Matthew 6:10. Hallelujah! Do you believe God's promises concerning the earth? Isaiah 55:11. Would you like to know more about the promises He has in store for those who inherit the earth?

If someone is a Calvinist how do they rationalize these parables about people finding something on their own and then DOING something to get it. It kinda goes against their teaching on being CHOSEN. From their viewpoint, I think the parable would sound more like this: A man woke up one day and checked his bank account and miraculously there was a huge treasure deposited in it. I’m not trying to be argumentative, I’m trying to weed through all the conflicting ideas about how we receive the kingdom of God. The only thing any of us have is our own experience, I know for a fact I am born again but it seems to me it happened because I made a decision to place my faith and trust in Jesus and then He flooded my heart and changed me. It seems to me it was HIM and I that made that happen. My faith, His grace....OUR relationship! Waiting on responses, thank you!

The subject is the kingdom of heaven. Where is it? I listen to this video and he didn't say anything about where it is. You left a comment I not sure what you met. I search for the truth. The name, Jesus, I even question, cause he says things that makes me think, he is not who he says he is. When I read, things jump out at me, and together, it tells me a different story then what everybody else is saying. What God has showed and told me, kinda felt like what you said about finding a treasure in your bank account? Or something like that. Talk to me, please. I can't find anyone that understands this like I do. I might be the only one.

No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:44 Only thing I would argue is your experience. Which may not be what you think it was or how it really happened. Not that it didn’t happen just maybe not fully how you thought. Let’s look at Peter. Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. Just like Peter, you believe because the father revealed it to you. No one can come unless God draws. Also see what Jesus says in Luke 10:21 - At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do. So God the Father has hidden himself from some and revealed himself to others. This is just the Word Of God.

The parable means the same to Peter. God revealed himself to peter. Peter found the treasure(Jesus). Peter gave all for the treasure (Even his life) and peter showed The Kingdom was trully his treasure. This is what the kingdom of heaven is like you will see a man /women ready to give all for the true treasure

@@tomparker3827 Peter was given two keys. Someone came to me and said the keys are in the names. His name was Pete. He told me the Holy Spirit is Love. He was wrong and right at the same time. In Romans 11:36, For from him, and through him, and to him are all things- To him the glory forever! 1) Father: from him. 2) son: through him. 3) Holy Spirit: to him. 1 Corinthians (13:43) And now these three remain: faith, hope, love. But the greatest of these is LOVE. Father: faith Son: hope Holy Spirit: Love I ask God to forgive me of all my sins, In the name of the father Melchizadek. In the name of the son Immanuel. "I" Daniel, ask for understanding of this Book I'm about to read. The Bible. The Holy Spirit: And I will ask the father and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever, the spirit of truth. But when he, the spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. Who is "he", who is to come, with the truth? Dan. 10:21 Dan. 12:13 Daniel was told what was written in the book of truth, and will rise up at the end times to receive his inheritance. Three keys, Three names, Two was give to me, My name, being Daniel, was the third. This is what I hear. The sign: A virgin will be with child, and "he" will call him Immanuel. "He" is the Holy Spirit. Mary was told that she was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and to give him the name Jesus to fulfill a prophecy. "They" will call him Immanuel. "They" the people will call him Immanuel because you do not speak against the Holy Spirit. Jesus said, I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden since the creation of the World. The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, the field is the world. The new heaven and the new earth. The Angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold. If you can understand, the Angel is tell you where it is hidden. It's not invisable, it's hidden. Immanuel, it means, God with us. Through him, To him. From him, through him, to him, the glory forever! Can you put a camel through the eye of a needle? With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Clue: The measuring rod of gold.

THE KINGDOM OF "HEAVEN" JUST MEANS THE KINGDOM OF GOD ON EARTH...INSIDE PEOPLE! In the Gospels, the phrase "Kingdom of HEAVEN" was just another way of saying "Kingdom of GOD." Jews often substituted the word "Heaven," the place where God lives, in place of the word "God," because they felt it was irreverent to say "God." But so many Christians who read the expression "Kingdom of Heaven" think it's talking about entering the PLACE called "Heaven," when it's simply referring to the theocratic government ON EARTH that most of the Jews of Jesus' day believed God would re-establish in Israel by sending a special king to set them free from the Romans--the Messiah. To make things worse, many Neo Evangelical preachers and teachers then go on to, falsely, interpret the expression "cannot enter the Kingdom of God" as if it means "going to Hell," which is a complete fallacy! "Entering" the Kingdom of God simply meant a person would become a citizen in the new, earthly, independent Jewish government, and not getting to "enter" that kingdom, just meant a person would be denied citizenship...for a time! The thing to understand is that most of the Jews of Jesus' day believed those who would not immediately get citizenship in the coming kingdom would continue to live on earth, but with a much lower social status, not too unlike the world they actually lived in where Roman citizens had many more privileges than did everyone else! Basically, they were looking forward to the tables being turned, with Jews holding the best privileges in the world, and non-Jews having their social statuses reduced. Consequently, most people would end up as peasants, at least to begin with. However, it's not as if anyone would be actively made to suffer! When we read about the religious hypocrites that Jesus criticized the most, not getting to "enter" the Kingdom, and how they'll respond by crying a lot and their teeth chattering, "weeping and gnashing their teeth," it's referring to how deeply disappointed these people will be as they are, so to speak, getting "sent out into the cold," that is, exiled...but not getting burned alive! Because they, for their great outward piety, anticipated getting not only citizenship but many other rewards, such as appointments to prestigious government jobs, they will be shocked to learn "sinners and publicans" will get their "green cards" long before they do...though Jesus never condemned them to eternal exile...he just said they would be the LAST to get their citizenship requests approved, once they show their hearts have really changed. Of course, the REAL question is whether Jesus, himself, believed in the popular idea of his day about a literal Jewish government taking over the world, and the answer seems likely to be, "No!" Toward the end of his public ministry, he began to let it be known what he believed was the REAL "Kingdom," a place inside the hearts and minds of PEOPLE (Luke 17:20-21) who had embraced his message of personal change, to reject leading lives of hurting others to embrace the joyous life of doing good and helping the suffering! Jesus has bought us with His blood, and we are the treasure. We are not buying anything, we have nothing to offer but our sins. Thus this interpretation is completely incorrect. Look at every parable, the actor is God or Jesus, not man.
